@MsGia91: That's actually the theme tuned penned by Klaus Doldinger, its a lot better than Danielle Steel ( although I love see those TV romances) although it is of the same time (1991-2).

I cannot agree with you more. This film has had the most impact on me than any other movie i have watched. I cried throughout most of it. A tragic yet entrancing story of two people in love who let class differences interfere with their true happiness. Then again.......maybe the magic was there because they only saw each other once per year while getting on with their own lives. A true fantasy really. I just loved it; could watch it 1000 times.

I'd love to watch it again, but I cant find it on dvd in London. Would you be able to see the person you love once a year and get on with you life ? I wouldnt... to live with one another differences, social and intellectual, is in my opinion the art of love. (difficult but worth it !) Great to speak to you !

I have it on DVD ( its rare but its all region free) you may be able to get it from Amazon. I suspect it only showed in the cinemas at the time ( 1992) and was on SKY ( Astra ) back in 1992/3.

we refer to Vincent as Twisty Turney Head because of his acting on law and order...we love the guy but notice how he hones in on his suspects with that...you guessed it...twisty turney head! So to see him with hair in this over the top melodrama has us ROTFLOL!

Thats the way Vincent decided to play him, and you either like it or you don't and they cut his hair so flipping short for the show that you wouldn't know that he has and still has curls like in this movie ( although less 90's).

Oh sure I can dig it. As an Italian from Brooklyn he almost pulled off the Scottish accent too. He is a talented actor and I see he and Greta have a daughter from that era of Salt on the Skin. We love him best as twisty turney head though in CI and wish he and Erbe could be in every episode instead of sharing with Noth.

I think he did pretty brilliantly with the accent ( not an easy one to do for any actor let alone an American one). Yes Goren is probably the best character to date. I like Chris too though and if he wasn't doing his side Vincent wouldn't be in it any more. Yes their daughter is called Leila ( she is a carbon copy of Greta).

Shirley is in a small part playing Gavin's ( Vincent) sister Mary, she is a great actress though, sweet little voice, funny hearing her with her native accent in this. Your welcome Raffaele.

Never saw this film. I think VDO is a gifted actor -- so many films he did, so few available at rental places.
