@14serdna Well if you had in fact paid more attention you would have realised that the smaller scale design they did was only to illustrate that exactly the same thing can be achieved by increasing the scale of the equipment. There is absolutely no reason why the Nazca Indians could not have made those designs using the knowledge and technology that they already had. I agree that these geometric patterns, Machu Picchu and other remains in Peru such as Ollaytantambo and Sacsayhuaman are magnificent. It is sad that some aspects of these former civilisations remain ambiguous because they were so utterly destroyed by the European conquerors.

As for the skull deformation, the skull images seen from this video are that of the Maya, who deformed their heads to emulate the Maize God. In shaping their infants' heads like this, they were supposed to look like a corn cob- it was a status symbol, just like breast implants are today. The Nasca lines are not a mystery...they were created by the Nasca People with an intended audience of the stars. Using basic surveying techniques they created the lines (the straight lines meant to lead people of other locations to the ceremonial center of Nasca) while the animals and shapes were meant to please the gods. Their art style was "essence over appearance" meaning that (like the famous Lanzon), some pieces of art would never have a human audience.

@14serdna Well if you had in fact paid more attention you would have realised that the smaller scale design they did was only to illustrate that exactly the same thing can be achieved by increasing the scale of the equipment. There is absolutely no reason why the Nazca Indians could not have made those designs using the knowledge and technology that they already had. There is no need to invoke aliens, doing so only insults the abilities of the Nazca people.

@14serdna Sorry, indians is not the most accurate term, but I was referring to the indigenous people, in this case the Nazca whom I believe predated the Inca civilisation. I agree that these geometric patterns, Machu Picchu and other remains in Peru such as Ollaytantambo and Sacsayhuaman are magnificent. It is sad that some aspects of these former civilisations remain ambiguous because they were so utterly destroyed by the European conquerors.

There is no mystery on how the lines were made. When I was a kid we used to make patterns in the snow much the same way. Some rope, stakes and a long stick.
And that was BEFORE I knew these lines existed.
Before concrete and steel, people had more knowledge of how to handle and craft stone work than we do. Besides, even in recent history, look how long it took to build some of the largest cathedrals in Europe plus the weights of some of the stones. Real works of art.
