Actually I am not Preisler Harrington, I am however a relative. And, you are right, there is no reason to fear.

The book is about choices not some cosmic, mysterious hammer coming to end it all.

The companion book is a non fiction book, called Analyzing 2012.( later this year) It analyzes predictions,

fears, the nonsense, what really matters etc...

The fiction is used as a catalyst to discuss the topics in 'Analyzing'
