super cool BUT you have to flip it before you go through the intersection. What if you dont realize your in a photo radar intersection? Or in Some cities the cops use incognito vans on the side of the road that take pics.. Cant see those ones coming because they are always changing location

What about an oxy-hydrogen cutting torch on a pole, a cheap bicycle, a balaclava, and a backpack half filled with soaking wet rags. You could just cut some of those cameras off quick and easy. Okay smart guy. There is still one minor problem with this "wireless remote" control. Suppose you're driving one day, decide to drive through those photo radars and the batteries in the remote are DEAD! oh shit. 80$ ticket fee. Unless you keep making sure the batteries are good but that's a pain in the ass. What you should have done is installed a switch that is linked to your vehicle's power supply and then you wouldn't need to worry about batteries. Ever thought about that??

I like the louver type. Cops can still see the tag from straight on but blocked at an angle.

This is very illegal. Not necessarily to have installed, but to not have your plate visible while the car is in operation is a much, much bigger fine than the speeding ticket itself.

I hate speed (tax) cameras too but this would be pointless because if you drive around with the plate down then you'd get an even bigger ticket by an unmarked police car or if you'd plan to use this when you see a camera (though most here are hidden) then it would be just as easy to slow down a bit to avoid triggering the camera. Me? I drive an old 4x4 covered in mud, including (and especially) the plate. "Sorry officer, I didn't realise but you can't fine me for having a dirty car, can you?".

The plates have to be visable to the officers at all times and according to the law it is the drivers responcibility to make sure everything is passable according to the law. Ignorance is no excuse.

There are several uses for flipping your plate down.. This is all kinds of awesome. I'd be tempted to drive with my plate down all of the time and I'd just flip it up if I saw a police officer. I think it may be illegal to own one of these but I'm not sure.
