They're making a new Shadowrun game for the PC... and it looks quite a lot like this one (with its camera angle( and will probably play similarly. It's multiplayer.. so that's good.

I managed to get to the dark blade building 5 minutes before you, and then I realised you were using the NTSC version which runs 10% faster than my PAL snes. You're gonna have to find a shorter route.
@Vickievitz yea that's true but having to just stand in 1 spot to shoot sucks. I like being able to move and shoot at the same time like in the other one and it's cool how many more things there are to buy in the Sega version but the end boss in the Super version is way better. Thon ain't got shit on Drake!

Genesis only topped SNES over one thing - Speed. SNES had a lot of things going for it, and it's great classic game library literally dominated Genesis's. But Sega at least had the advantage in the early going, had they not made as many bone-headed moves as they did over the years, they'd still be around making consoles today.
SNES version had better sound quality, more story content, and isometrically angled gameplay. Genesis had a top down view and poorer sound, which was not as good, but it did have detailed Matrix interaction. In this regard, the SNES was not so good. I do like the Genesis version for what it accomplished, though.
I love how in SR when you talk to someone a whole list of crap comes up of what you can ask the person, imagine doing that in real life ask about Street dock aask about DOG lol

This game was made in Melbourne, Australia... Pretty rare thing back then as not that many games come from Australia in those days. If I had one wish, it would be that they made a full fledged anime of this game with its awesome storyline, to the calibre of something like Akira. Heh... Guess I will keep dreaming, but just think of how mind blowing it would be.
I wish Troika, or BlackIsle were still around to make a remake of this game. Knowing with their knowledge of RPGs, and incredible storyline plus writing ability. Just think about Shadowrun in the Infinity Engine. Amazing.

lol yeah i kept going and hiring different runners, kitsune, norbert etc. my friend and i played for like 2 days straight and then i bumped the snes and it deleted the same game :( So we just started playing again lol
lol i remember it taking me like 5 days to get to the caryard when i was a kid. i ran into so many deadends, it seemed so hard back then. this was a scary-ass game for a young kid like myself might i add ahah.
i played this when I was like 12. it had such an interesting scary atmosphere. hard to say exactly what makes it so cool. i love how its like an 80's urban cyberpunk gangster type thing which is neat to begin with, but then they add in all this shamanism, worshipping dog spirits, fighting zombies and vampires, giant octopus, hacking. just a really really diverse world. and yes, the music is so awesome!! one of the best games ever made.

haha I am so with you on this. I borrowed this off a mate of mine and played the hell out of it back in the 90's. I'm 29 now and remember this and own a copy (american cart so I use converter to play it on my pal snes). Wicked game. I collect snes and megadrive games to this day. I have Rock N Roll Racing, Zelda - Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart too along with Super Probotector, Secret or Mana, Secret of Evermore, SFII, Super Metroid....Cool beans :D
@Edd731 I never played Shadowrun on SNES, I played it on the genesis. I really liked that game, and I must've spent most of my time in 3rd grade playing this or Shining Force II. I spent alot of effort getting that fucking turtle into a monster.
I went the opposite way, I never played the Genesis version but spent all my school time playing Shadworun on the snes along with the other games. SFII is such a gem too. I better get my old genesis out and hammer it. :D

well for now the closest thing to a new Shadowrun game we have is a rumor a game devolper named Smith & Tinker holds the license for a Shadowrun game that may come in production, one of the main designers of the pen and paper rpg works at Smith & Tinker and so there are high hopes if the game comes to fruit it will be much more true to Shadowrun then Microsoft attempt with there arena style fps.
@LykanKhan Not the Fallout 3 gameplay, please. Shadowrun deserves a real RPG gameplay and not watered down action game for console-kids. If it has to be Bethesda, they should take a look at Daggerfall again and go from there.

@LykanKhan Looks like you never played Fallout 1 and 2, so you can't compare those games. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 is a great game, but it just doesn't have the depth of the earlier games. Like Oblivion, it's a lot of fun, but it feels too much like a "casual gamers" game. Try playing Morrowind or Daggerfall to see what I mean with "real" RPGs. I hate those asian RPGs, too. That has nothing to do with roleplaying, that's going around with spiky hairs on premade roads... No real decisions.

@LykanKhan I still regard the SNES as the pinnacle of human achievment, that doesn't count :D The problem is that modern RPGs are primarily made for consoles and then ported to the PC so they are tailored to the more "casual" gamer and mostly made simpler so you can have early success. It's not that bad, but especially on PC you just could do more. But then the games would be too hard in the beginning and scare away potential customers...
@LykanKhan What I'm trying to say is that the Fallout 3 gameplay doesn't fit into the Shadowrun world. The Daggerfall gameplay would be more true to the tabletop origins (it actually has saving rolls and all that :D)
@LykanKhan While I agree with you, I'd choose to Call that sort of Gameplay 'Oblivion Gameplay' seeing as Fallout 3 is basically A Futuristic Oblivion, but you can't blame them for using Oblivion as their base for Fallout 3. Oblivion is the best game in the universe, if every game resembled Oblivion, there would be no bad games.

I loved everything from this game. Dark, creepy, almost for adults. i thought it was hard when i played it back at 14. Its by far my best RPG on the SNES, even Chrono trigger was good, cyberpunk is more my style. I also loved the Genesis version, which was more complex with the upgrades and the edgy matrix runs. But they dont release those games anymore. NOPE. all about stupid shooters which are all the same and lame 17th generation sports game that still look the same. Hail Shadowrun.
I always kinda felt bad for the King if you kill him in the Arena - what they're doing at the end of this video is actually not bad at all, trying to protect you and all.

lol i remember it taking me like 5 days to get to the caryard when i was a kid. i ran into so many deadends, it seemed so hard back then. this was a scary-ass game for a young kid like myself might i add ahah.

i played this when I was like 12. it had such an interesting scary atmosphere. hard to say exactly what makes it so cool. i love how its like an 80's urban cyberpunk gangster type thing which is neat to begin with, but then they add in all this shamanism, worshipping dog spirits, fighting zombies and vampires, giant octopus, hacking. just a really really diverse world. and yes, the music is so awesome!! one of the best games ever made.

This game was absolutely GREAT!! I remember being sick 1 summer and played this for countless hours......Being stuck for days was frustrating but it always payed off.................

haha I am so with you on this. I borrowed this off a mate of mine and played the hell out of it back in the 90's. I'm 29 now and remember this and own a copy (american cart so I use converter to play it on my pal snes). Wicked game. I collect snes and megadrive games to this day. I have Rock N Roll Racing, Zelda - Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart too along with Super Probotector, Secret or Mana, Secret of Evermore, SFII, Super Metroid....Cool beans :D

@Edd731 I never played Shadowrun on SNES, I played it on the genesis. I really liked that game, and I must've spent most of my time in 3rd grade playing this or Shining Force II. I spent alot of effort getting that fucking turtle into a monster.

I went the opposite way, I never played the Genesis version but spent all my school time playing Shadworun on the snes along with the other games. SFII is such a gem too. I better get my old genesis out and hammer it. :D

Keep the story, Jake Armitage, all the elements... Add a massive open-world and basically use the Fallout 3 type gameplay with more dialogue action.
Would be incredible and a blockbuster!

well for now the closest thing to a new Shadowrun game we have is a rumor a game devolper named Smith & Tinker holds the license for a Shadowrun game that may come in production, one of the main designers of the pen and paper rpg works at Smith & Tinker and so there are high hopes if the game comes to fruit it will be much more true to Shadowrun then Microsoft attempt with there arena style fps.

@LykanKhan Not the Fallout 3 gameplay, please. Shadowrun deserves a real RPG gameplay and not watered down action game for console-kids. If it has to be Bethesda, they should take a look at Daggerfall again and go from there.

@LykanKhan Looks like you never played Fallout 1 and 2, so you can't compare those games. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 is a great game, but it just doesn't have the depth of the earlier games. Like Oblivion, it's a lot of fun, but it feels too much like a "casual gamers" game. Try playing Morrowind or Daggerfall to see what I mean with "real" RPGs. I hate those asian RPGs, too. That has nothing to do with roleplaying, that's going around with spiky hairs on premade roads... No real decisions.

@LykanKhan I still regard the SNES as the pinnacle of human achievment, that doesn't count :D The problem is that modern RPGs are primarily made for consoles and then ported to the PC so they are tailored to the more "casual" gamer and mostly made simpler so you can have early success. It's not that bad, but especially on PC you just could do more. But then the games would be too hard in the beginning and scare away potential customers...

@LykanKhan What I'm trying to say is that the Fallout 3 gameplay doesn't fit into the Shadowrun world. The Daggerfall gameplay would be more true to the tabletop origins (it actually has saving rolls and all that :D)

@LykanKhan While I agree with you, I'd choose to Call that sort of Gameplay 'Oblivion Gameplay' seeing as Fallout 3 is basically A Futuristic Oblivion, but you can't blame them for using Oblivion as their base for Fallout 3. Oblivion is the best game in the universe, if every game resembled Oblivion, there would be no bad games.

I loved everything from this game. Dark, creepy, almost for adults. i thought it was hard when i played it back at 14. Its by far my best RPG on the SNES, even Chrono trigger was good, cyberpunk is more my style. I also loved the Genesis version, which was more complex with the upgrades and the edgy matrix runs. But they dont release those games anymore. NOPE. all about stupid shooters which are all the same and lame 17th generation sports game that still look the same. Hail Shadowrun.
