"DAMN"--"Listen to the fiddle in there.!! What a song. What a singer. OKAY Taylor -Not-Swift.!!!TOP THIS !!!!!! " I think George is and will always be the king of country.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
who the heck is " uncle kraker " ? he ain't my uncle ( lol ) nor is he George Jones . BUT in all fairness he does one hell of a good job on this song . Good job Kraker ...............
I turned 50 three days ago. I listened to George back when he had the brush cut. I was a Tom T Hall Fan. But as George got older, he just sounded better. Tom T can still write and sing. George just got sweeter on the vine.
this video is so awesome in the way it was put together, short clips. a faultless voice that gets me every time. thanx for the memories george, u rock in country & western.
Come on!! Anybody comparing Hank Jr. to George Jones is definitely messed up in the head. George Jones wrote this song and sings it like nobody on this Earth will ever sing it.
There is for me, dude. He has all the finesse here of Sinatra at his peak, with heart and soul, not just a young honky-tonker crying in his beer. He sounds here like he's learned so much about life since he first recorded it. And the voice is in good shape, the production's excellent. A mature, grown-up re-working.
Hey there, check out my new video song cover ~ of George Jones, "The Window Up Above" just click on my channel link mpmlam01 ~ and don't forget to subscribe and, friend my YouTube channel ~ Thanks ...
@NFLTOPDOGG Jones is having a hard enough time trying to carry Bocephus' jock. Drugs?...chuckles. Next time bring something more substantial to the table, extra chromosome boy.
@DontForgetToJog Your mom brought it over last night. She wanted to smoke it with me, but I kicked her to the curb. And another thing....I am so sick and tired of her fishy smelling panties hanging on my shower curtain all the time. Tell her to stay home from now on.
ya i know this story. ask Elaine how it worked out for her whore ass. shut the fuk up bitch and thank whatever God u know that u wasn't in a car fire. LOL
I live in North Alabama we have lot of Singers Come out of these hills, I was about ten years old when this song come out, My Mother was secretly in love with George Jones, Jones stayed drunk in a cave for while, cop took whisky to him
Mother turned down a date with Sonny James, Iam Distant Blood kin to Charlie Louvin His real name Loudermilk, spoken with him few times, Pitched him songs, He did nothing with them, Cousin went to school with some of the Alabama Boys, I never Meet any of them
@deadadelta Jeannie C Riley come to Augusburg Germany 1970, put on show for us Soldiers Harper Valley PTA was Big.
I walked up to the stage and told Her I was Blood Kin to Charlie Louvin, She got off the stage and Hugged my neck
She said Charlie and Ira Helped lot of People get started in music when theywas big
Had some FUN other Soldiers wonted to know where I knew her from I told them I never Kissed and Told, Back then I was kinda Handsome, was about a month for I told them the Truth
Bocephus has a version and it sounds better than this one by 'ol possum. No offense to George, he's great, but Hank Jr. does this song better, in my opinion.
@LT1HILLINGHOE NOBODY can sing a country song like George. But I respect your opinion. But really HANK JR. singing an old country ballad better than GEORGE JONES?? Maybe that outlaw country stuff like "Country Boy Can Survive" but never on these types of songs. George just knows how to hit all the notes and puts alot of feeling in it. Hank like I said is more of a Country Rock type of singer.
@wildboy365 Bocephus' old stuff (pre fall) mainly showcased his voice, whereas most of the his music since has mainly showcased outlaw style. In his songs that showcase his voice, Bocephus has no equal. George does not have a vocal range anywhere near Bocephus' vocal range. I like George, I know, listen and sing lots of his material and he is my Mama's favorite singer, but Hank is the best in my book. Next is Conway and George coming in a close third.
I can't hear him sing without thinking of my long-passed mom. She just idolized this guy. He is a character, but a great singer. Georgette looks just like him.
same thing with my grandma, she loved his singing
