  • Damn, that sounded like an advertisement for all these bikes. Especially the GSA which I consider it to be the best advertised over rated bike of the bunch. This bike has inadequate suspension and weighs a ton. On top of that it can be seriously unreliable (see catastrophic engine failures, been there at 20k miles, and catastrophic rear end failures, been there also at 22k miles). I'm back to sprocket and chain options and double swing-arm for my adventure riding, see KTM 990 and bye bye BMW.

  • After riding home in drizzly rain, freezing cold, slippery wet roads and miserable detached people in their cars not looking where they're going cause they're texting - I REALLY envy you guy

Zool (rusting/corroded ZX10R owner & future GS Adventure owner:)

  • Super Tenere............super :)

  • I bought recently BMW R1200 GS Adventure, model 2008.

What a Bike, it is a combination of Sport bike, Touring Bike as well Off road beast.

It has wonderful long travel suspension, 33L fuel tank capacity. Very light in maneuvering.

When you ride you will find very comfortable and asking you to go more.

It is wonderful Germany engineering and design.

  • So where is Timabura Australia??

  • wow! this is really wild life. praying hard to get some nature give woods to cook your food. enjoy your vid very much.

  • Support wehicle? What for?

  • 7:25 seems the be censored, right as his about to say how fast they go, what gives lol

  • 5:48 - " yamahas first effort at an adventure bike " wha ?

  • adventure bikes today are s.u.v.s... perfect for a minority, fashion statement for most people. so what? maybe one day they had a bad day at the ofice, ride it to the beach or mountain for an hour... and come bedtime, everything will be allright :)

  • AMAZING

  • Awesome stuff. Noticed that there was no KTM among the pack? What gives? Afterall, you did have the recovery vehicle for when did breaks down!

  • @TS50ER; KTM's press fleet were out on other mag tests at this time mate, and it was too late notice to get another sent from the other side of Aus. Stay tuned for Pt 2 of this outback adventure – we're doing it all again on 2011 models and will ensure KTM is on board this time!

  • @ARiemann1 , looking forward to Pt 2. Would be good to see a Kato and the new Honda V4 Crosstourer.

  • You guys rock!.... finally a clip that shows some real adventure riding.

I'm sick of watching videos of lard arse pomms riding along some bitumen backroad, complaining about the overcast conditions and recommending everyone buy an Italian sports bike for adventure riding....gotta love that Rhino!

  • Very, very, very impressive camerawork. Well done, Alexis.

  • bmw 1200gs - yamha super tenere 1200...and the winner is??

  • Go the SuperTen ! couldn't wait for them to come to NZ, bought the first 1 in the south Island !! Love it, best bike i've ever had ! Put a Micron pipe on it, what a difference ! Check out my vid on it. Cheers ADB !

  • wow in the US dirtbikes are a whole lot different

  • @weeman728 Those are like the kings and queens of dirtbikes. unless you live in Utah or some other state that is "scarcely" populated, having an adventure bike is kinda useless tbh.

  • @Sleepinglion22 Not everyone lives in the USA... But I agree, if you live in some overpopulated region and cant get away for a while, there is little use for these bikes or any trail bike for that matter. Or an R1 or a fireblade or a... Just buy a CB400 with ABS.

  • @Pwn00b No, i see this opposite. These are not only "Adventure"-bikes. They are in all terrain useful. Here in Switzerland and the south of Germany you have everywhere cities, towns, villages - a lot of population - a lot of traffic. But if you try to drive you can do it - on perfect streets. And no other bike is making more sense than a bike for travelling, with passenger, with baggage...or sportive - it doesnt matter. This bikes are excellent for all kind of riding. A R1 or CB400 is this not.

  • @steinert I agree that adventure bikes are the best overall style of bike. I have always had an "Adventure" bike of one kind or another, usually a GS. If I were to have only a single bike, it would be an Adventure bike. But I live in a fairly remote part of Australia. If, however, I KNEW that I would never take it anywhere near the dirt (or out of a big city) then I believe that there are better road bikes than an Adventure bike. But there is nothing as versatile as an adventure bike.

  • @Pwn00b Yes, for sure.

And i must say it doesnt matter if you have perfect roads or some dirt... you have a much better condition, more comfort, on trips - or even long tours - with a big enduro. You just win no race on the race-track... but who is driving races for many hours on usual streets and with traffic? It is not a mystery why these bikes have become such successful also when almost in usual use :-)
