I thought season 3 was pretty bad, the majority of the original cast from the first two seasons were killed off and replaced by new characters who transformed into weird looking spacecrafts and mostly all the adventures did'nt take place on earth anymore. About the only original character from the first two seasons that stayed around was Grimlock.

I always found it strange how at the ned when Rodimus, Kupp, and Ultramagnus were running that Kupp was in the center. Isn't the leader usually there?

@Kingbeastguy: I always wondered tmyself why Rodimus didn't get the middle spot...

And for years, I thought that was Kup in the middle, but if you pause at 0.30, you'll notice that it's actually SPRINGER, in Kup's colours! And Ultra Magnus' face is entirely blue... This title sequence was animated by Akom, an animation studio notorious for poor quality. Akom animated a bunch of Transformers episodes which are the sloppiest-drawn and most error-ridden of any episodes in the show's entire run.

doesnt look all like Springer... he has Kups color, legs and torso, head looks more like Springer tho. Springers shoulder pads are clearly missing too so I dunno....

Season 3 theme song rocks but Season 2 animated intro is sooo much better...hell even Season 1 animated intro rocks...this one sucks..it was rushed.

Season 3 was by far the best, IMO. Whether or not you dislike Optimus being dead, it was more grim, had great sci fi plots, and the Quintessons were fucking malevolent!

@lshaw17 Yea I've recently rewatched seasons 1 to 3 and I have to agree. Although I love Optimus to death, the third season is a bit more "mature". It's indeed dark and grim.

I also like that both factions are in a state of disarray. Galvatron is completely insane and cannot really lead the decepticons and Rodimus is inconfident because he believes he can't live up to the legacy of Optimus. In the mean time, the Quintessons make clever use of this...

Season 2 was the best season of Generation One. The movie horribly evolved the series into the weak Season 3.

I thought Season 3 had the best theme music, too. As a whole, Season 2 was the definitive season out of all Generation 1, but Season 3 DID have the greatest episode of all time.
