I remember my friend Tim Schwartz first playing this band for me back in 81 or something. We danced around the dorm room..wow. Back then they were just another new band among many.
When you are 19 you think the supply is endless. About 12 years ago I re-discovered how great they were and now can't get enough of them. Where did all that time go so quickly. Kids when you hear a new band and you like them remember to hold them a bit dear as life is short.
Maybe someone can help me out? Early 80's used to listen to a song by ME where the chorus was " change change change " , and one verse " he hit the concrete and stained it just right" . Like to find it again. Thanks.

I saw them in a small club back in the 80's they blew me away. I still listen to After The Snow all the time & am equally as blown away by it as the first time I heard it. Wish I still had the vinyl though.
this tuneeeee is pitched-up, listen to it at spotify properly. robbie sounds like a 15 year old boy like tis way... hahaha I don´t mind , good track anyway
I know the guitarist and i used to be a roadie with bauhaus and the brithday party,Hvae not seen the guitarist fro ages.I was at a beggars banquet party at the rock garden in 1981
There are no bands in this century that write and record tracks like this. This is full of panic anxiety desperation and most of all YOUTHFULNESS ENERGY and INNOVATION.Nuff said.
Was there ever a keyboardist for Modern English called Matt? I worked with a guy at the Passport Office who said he was in the band in the 80s and he did seem pretty convincing but i haven't recognised him in any of these shots.
If it was Matt Shipley, yeah, he was on their last album in 1996, "Everything Is Mad". He also co-wrote two of the songs, "Heaven" and "I Don't Know Anything".
Nice vid!!! and a truly great song, a shame I haven't found the lyrics =(, anyway, this band is awesome and the pictures are really cool, nice job Luis!

Thanks! He talked about the 10+ tours of America they did and how he occasionally got small royalty cheques.
