i've never dragged to weld, i just click one point then another with target weld on. But do you have tips for sharpening edges? For example when I turbosmooth for a look it looks way to soft, when i camfer it looks a mess..

If anyone would like this program, I have a new, legal unused key. I thought I'd need it, but apparently not. Retail's $3,500. I'd just like some return on it. Under $500 is fine. Message me with a price if you're interested. I'll provide you with proof and such.
One of the way that you can add verticies is ofcourse you can add the segs under the modifier when you first make the model before turning it into the editable poly...
but if u've already turned it into an editable poly, you could select the polygon of the area you want to add the verticies and click quick slice to cut it..that way it can create a new vertex :)
@photonarbiter when you've converted it to a poly, you can select the edges, and use the cut tool to add more. Not sure if this is what you are asking though
in case you didnt notice this is a very old tut before HD was avalible and i dont think he has made any since this, i just thought i would let u know :D

this uploader your an idiot you cant do any catastrophic damage to your model you just undo it 0.o srry but if your going to do a tut dont make it bigger than what it is.
what if you collapse and then near the final touches later realized you totally fucked up?
Then youd do major catastrophic damage. And the thing about 3ds max is the amount of undos your able to do. Once the max amount of undos is reached then your fucked you shithead.
wow ok but for what you did all you had to do was click on undo i think you where just trying to make it look a little hard and impress some of the noobies. srry for the beginners.
True. Atleast word it in a way so its doesnt have such negative connotations. You name. Its out of the question, i didnt even notice it was that haha. But yea.
Dude, all you have to do is CTRL+Z hat bitch to undo it. And that's basic stuff! This guy basically said that if you were to accidently weld a heap of vertices together, you would have to manually fix the problem. That's a very misleading statement for beginners!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
stfu. your a beginner.
you dont know shit. 3ds max has a default number of undos you can do. and being a beginner, the default is only around 30 times. So what if you realized your fucked up on a collapse near the final touches? Undoing evering would take up about 60 undos to get to the screwed up collapse action.
I'm pretty sure you would notice if you messed up on a collapse... By the way, why'd you call me a jock? Ohhh.... my name, yeah the next time, you should read a person's profile before making idiotic claims like that. Also, I've said this to a lot of Youtuber's like you and I think I'll say it again, try to use proper english on your next dumb comment. Thanks.

Well then. If you want proper English here. Concerning your name "sportstud7" not being a jock, I look up to you a nerd who wishes to be one. Yes, I tend to assume but we all do that a lot, and guess what your out of luck. As for welding, there are a couple of use who are smart enough yes. Because of you retards there are many who don't realize it.
Also. Rationalizing does not make a person stupid. I'm sure your mom thought you were an idiot when you head popped out of her old wrinkled pussy.
"i did that before just with collapse, so if i wanted the weld effect, i had to drop the vertex virtually on same position as the other one and collapse, soooo waste of time"
im glad i saw this, when u learn max by youself (with no tutorials) u forget some basic stuff
i did that before just with collapse, so if i wanted the weld effect, i had to drop the vertex virtually on same position as the other one and collapse, soooo waste of time
It's also handy to slice your model in half ( if your model is symmetric ) and ad a symmetry modifier to it , so al your work is reflected in the symmetry modifier ....
hey can you help me? i just started on 3d and i don't know even how to modify poligons :S yeah incredible lame. I tried everything i saw but i found nothing :S
Very precise word usage and good vocabulary, also high quality mic, THANK YOU FOR A CLEAR AND PLEASANT TUTORIAL.
