I practice Taekwondo. The Master that held the fights is also a Taekwondo Master but his main style is Kun Khmer. My Taekwondo school will soon train with them. So I wanted to get some info. from people that train this style. Can you give me some advice? PEACE.......

However, as modern muay thai and kun khmer use the same rules set in the ring and the same equipment etc there is no difference from the uninitiated point of view. But if you have watched/studied/researched into both arts you will know the differences. Thai style is more trade off blow for blow, slow and methodical, mainly clinch and kicks. Khmer style is more aggressive with more focus on striking especially elbows.

He was from Holland but he was definitely a Thai Boxing Legend. Why? He went to the best place to compete and continued to compete there win or lose. Pretty much the same art. Muay Thai most likely originated in Cambodia but Cambodia lack the economic structure to build competitive gyms to compete at the national level. Therefore, the best Thais would destroy the best Khmer because the best Thai went through so much established tougher competition. Someone like Buakaw went through many tough competition at the national and international level whereas a great Khmer fighter can't really gauge how great he is a national level.

@powerful7tkd the proper forms are different. focusing on different things. However, as modern muay thai and kun khmer use the same rules set in the ring and the same equipment etc there is no difference from the uninitiated point of view. But if you have watched/studied/researched into both arts you will know the differences. Thai style is more trade off blow for blow, slow and methodical, mainly clinch and kicks. Khmer style is more aggressive with more focus on striking especially elbows.

@rathacambo Because in Phnom Penh I can see them fight live at CTN, TV3, TV5, Bayon, Apsara and Bayon 1. On the screen or at the ring. In the US you can see them on delay on CTN International or in old fights on Youtube.

Yes, the Cambodian National Titles are what make Cambodian National Champs tough. So, if he got beaten by a Thai in Thailand that proves that either the Thai is also tough, because he beat him, or all Cambodian boxers are weak.

@Prod1Kh I can prove that you are fucking wrong. Here are my proves. Lao Sinath is a champ and Keo Romjong wasn't a champ at the time but Romjong defeated Sinath 4 times. How did that happened? Som Ounloung and Jeam Adam are also the chams and they fought for more than 60 times but guess what? Paeddy Moungsothea beated all their asses and Moungsothea is not even a cham. And what is Moungsothea's record? His recordis 10 fights, 10 wins.

Cheam Adam and Sam Ounluong are reality tv champs. They won a tv show. They have never been Cambodian 65kg National Champions. What it does is prove that Paddy Carson is a damn good trainer who can nurture talent properly. It doesn't prove anything about the Cambodian National Title Tournament, except that you know nothing about it and are too stupid to do any research to learn about it.
10 days - 200 fights. Last man standing = champion.
