  • I think my ex introduced me to these gentlemen. I guess I have to be brateful for SOMETHING about him then.

  • Tommy Thompson...He is truly missed.

  • Yes, Yes thanks for the post. There is nothing like the human voice, singing 4 part harmony.

Original Ramblers to be @ Down Home in JC TN Sat. May 30, 2009

  • I had a room mate in 81' who turned me on

    to the Ramblers'.

    Saw them 3x

    Wheatland fest 86' or 87'

    Ramsdell Theater Manistee Mi 89'

    First date with other 1/2:

Some ratty old school in Marquette Mi 91'

    Third time was a charm.

  • A dear friend drug me into the old Cat's Cradle to see them back in 1976. Those boys took the top of my head off. Changed my life.

I'm right there with you on "Rabbit in the Pea Patch." If it's been a bad day at work, I'll take the back roads and play that cut. By the time I get home there's a smile on my face. Chuckin the Friz has just been re-released by the way.

  • I couldn't say enough good about this band if you gave me a five-*thousand* word limit. Hands down the best there's ever been of this genre. Jim Watson's voice is as classic as George Jones'. I've waited for the fast/live version of "Parting Hand" to show up - thanks for the post.

At the least get the album "Merchant's Lunch" if you like string band and similar type music - it is a classic masterpiece. "Rabbit In The Pea Patch" alone is worth the price of admission.
