Hey FAB anything older than 7 years is null and void i wouldn't be paying they are calling your bluff I think. All government records are only kept for 7 years then discarded! If the offense was that many years ago it should be clear of
➤ Oh,governments are all alike aren't they FAB,bunch of blood suckers! We could see the due date of May 27,2011. Hit the number 6 repeatedly it's funny!
last election i had LNP send me some bullcrap letter basically saying vote for us, but they addressed it to me and my dad, but not my mum. LNP get your shit together im not in a gay relationship with my dad!!
Limitations have run out haven't they? I GOT IT! Put them on to Heri DuPont, he stole your car, took it without your knowledge and he got these charges, NOT YOU! This is the first you've heard of it. Yep, Henri did it (wink)
Hey FAB, 1st the fine doesn't describe what the offence was, where it occurred and the time of the offence. I wouldn't pay it - I would also check these for spelling mistakes & other discrepancies. See your solicitor for clarification. I would even go as far as returning the stress back at them - Get your solicitor to help you here - Your being targeted and harassed for infringements that are 13 yrs old and without proof of offence. Take them on mate.
I seem to always get jury duty summons for my hometown and in my maiden name. Not bad just kind of funny in a way since I've not lived in that state for almost three years. Ha.
fight the non specified one in court you have the right to....wait i have no idea what the Australasian constitution looks like or if they even have one
Check the statute of limitations for paying ancient fines. This could be a phony collection attempt. Real credit collectors would have been all over your ass to pay up loooonnnngggg time ago. Sounds like bottom feeder, get their money and run kinda set-up.
Appeal if you can in Oz, if not empty your swearbox, that should more than cover the fines with enough over to buy a ring with a big diamond in it for Tracey!!! You never know Maybe tomorrow's post will bring a cheque for $90 from onedickhead!!!!!! Take care FAB
The worse letter I've ever received in the mail box was a letter from the police stating that i had kidnapped a dog (which i had not) and that the police would drag me to court to get me convicted for kidnapping said dog which is something like a few month in jail......
Do you have a statute of limitations there? Here in the USA most traffic offenses carry a 2-year statute of limitations. That means after two years, you just go to court and tell the judge, you want to object to the charge due to the statute of limitations.
You need to find someone who can verify if all the charges on the paper are real. There are so many scammers now days I don't trust anyone who claims I owe them money.
Pay all in pennies, or your Aussie equivalent. They hate that but they are legally obligated to take legal tender payments. O, and don't forget to fill that shit, that will be EPIC :)
@DrakIems Actually mate... They are not legally obligated to take it at all... In Australia there are actually laws of how much your legally allowed to pay in coins... And there has been since the Currency Act of 1965.
Brother.. If ya do the crime.. gotta do the time Im sorry to say. There is no statute of limitations on that kind of stuff.. not when the government can make money the pricks. I expect there are ways to pay it off mate.
LOL that's Queenslanders for ya! Slower than a wet week, or in this case a decade or two!!! Lol. Kidding.
Worst thing I received in the mail....was a 6mth vaccination reminder for my son. He had passed away from SIDS and they never sent me a 4mth one.
Best thing I received in the mail was a letter from Centrelink stating "dear miss rednogo we are idiots and realised that we owe you $2 432.83. We have already put it in your bank account. Stupid Government agancies!
I wouldn't really call it mail, but one day I got a letter on my front door complaining from one of my neighbors, anonymously, that my 5:00 AM drumming was waking them up out of a sound sleep. I knew I never played drums at 5 AM in my life, so it had to be the highschool marching band that was just a mile up the road. How light of a sleeper do you have to be to get woken up by a marching band a mile away, and how stupid do you have to be to blame it on one of your neighbors? Pissed me off.
they send ppl the original fine to pay or to take it to court then if the fine isnt paid paid a reminder would have been issued then after that to the collection mob..even when you say you didnt recieve the fines, its always in their favour, probably have to pay it or they cancel your liscence.askthem if you have an option to go to court.(since you say you didnt originally get the fines : )
FAB all you can really do is ask for the details to every fine and if they cannot provide specific details then you can definitely contest the fines otherwise if they do provide details then your going to have to pay the $2,500
i wonder if there's a statute of limitations on parking fines... a call to legal aid would tell ya. here in vic i think i would have been arrested years ago for those fines lol. never had a parking fine in my life luckily. i have the ultimate solution, stay on the net and never go outside the house lol. cheaper that way and heaps of fun. good one fab. glad you guys made it home safe and sound.
well my worst thing ive recived in my 17 year life is a suspension letter from school for something i didnt do tho i was suspended on a monday and tuesday so i got a longer weekend worked out better for me =)
All Thumbs Up!! The Best Thing I Ever Get in the Mail is My Friend Debs Cookies. She Sends to me Every Xmas. The Worse Thing I Ever got in the Mail is the Copy of My Grandmother's Death Certificate. Looking at it felt so Final. Thanks!! Blessings, ~Andree'
I don't think you have to pay a fine that's like 13 years old!? o.O That's such a bullshit! :O The worst thing I've ever received in my mail was a letter from our stupid ginger house owner, he wrote that we should leave the house 'cause he wants to build something else on that place. Thanks God are now solved out, but still, when we got that letter it was a shock ... o.O
Queensland are very strict on law you would have to pay it, if you were an NSW the state government here is so Lazy they probably wouldn't even know you didn't pay the fines!! LOL yes thats how slack they are in NSW.
tight arses. You're better off paying it mate, it will further complicate things if you dont. I once had a package that was stopped from South America, some food that was sent by a friend after authorities told her it was fine. Anyway, it was stopped in Australia, they sent me a letter strongly urging me to pay 72 dollars to send it back. Fuck off
Worse thing I received was a reminder letter from the vet to get my cat's flu shot. The letter came from the same vet's office that put her down 6 months before. Whoops.
Worst was a fine for overdue books. The computer says the books in question were checked out like 5 years before I ever had a library card and 10 years before the books were published. This had to be one serious computer error.
That has got to be one of the most outrageous and ridiculous things I've ever heard of... It took the fuckers long enough, eh? There must be some kind of statute of limitations. I think they are trying to scare you into paying it like a collection agency would, and if you're stupid enough to pay then it's their gain. I don't know Australian law, but if this happened in Canada I would laugh it off...
I'm a professional fine recipient and I pay my 3 grand sper bill $10 a week keeps em off your back I'll finish paying mine off in 2025 or something.fuck em mate they suspended my license without notification and I got pinched driving whilst suspended I said just add it to my account.
I'll tell you the stupidest thing I've ever received in the mail, which was a Hyundai car ad flier with a fake keyless car remote that was hot glued to it :|
Everybody click on FAB's ads so he can afford to pay his fines. LOL. That sucks mate. You'd think after over 10 years they'd just drop it. I guess someone has to pay for Julia Gillard's trip to the Royal Wedding, and it looks like they chose you.
Shit mate, I once got a bill from the taxman for $8000!!! Seems "they" stuffed up with calculations, decimal point in the wrong place but I had to contact them to work it out, bastards, it's a rude shock to get that after returning home (same as you!) from an overseas holiday and I was just a PAYE taxpayer so it wasn't my fault. Seems like you've got some work ahead mate, good luck!
Those lazy public servants are all pan lickin, pole smokin fucks, who turn up and do 7.3567hrs a day mon.-fri. and collect our arse sloggin tax money. Tell them to FUCK OFF.
I'm only 16 years old.. but I'd ring em up and ask them why the fuck it took them 8 years to give you that letter. You could always just tell THEM to wait 8 years for the money ;)
P.S. Yes I have recieved something in the mail that has left me shocked.. It read, you have been named the beneficiary of the late WankerMopHead of Nigeria who has left you 9,500,000 U.S.D. Please send personal info so we can send you payment." It turned out to be a scam
When i was 18, some arsehole joined me up to a Swingers meet up group as a homosexual. I started receiving all these letters from blokes telling me what they wanted to do to me. Never learned who did that to me.
@TheFatAussieBarstard I may have someone who can help. I've heard of many stories like this before, and if you stand your ground and tell them where to shove it as well as get your mates in the media involved, they usually fold. They need hard evidence to prove it, plus something as old as that, I'm sure statute of limitations comes into play.
Only about 2 weeks ago my mum received a letter from the same kind of organization in Sweden where she's from chasing her up for the remainder of her student loans she didn't pay back and... this was from back in the 1970's! So firstly it's from nearly 40 years ago and from another country... lol, atleast she had the common sense to just throw the letter in the bin and say that they can just get fucked! LOL
Rediculous, Where do you start with that lot. I got a Toll charge in the mail for passing thru a Sydney tunnel which I was never in as I live in SE QLD. Wrote them a letter saying that it wasnt my vehicle or me and asked for a photo and they wrote back saying it was a misread of the number plate, well I was inocent but what are you fab, guilty?
i owe 5500 to sper and every time they send me mail every single fine is on a seperate letter meaning i get about 60 DAMN LETTERS the postie just leaves em on top of the mailbox, my fines dtae back that far ,you cant get out of em
How convenient of for them to wait so many years that you can't remember that pacific day in time in fine detail to defend yourself in court... They often pull that crap over here in the states too. Not sure if Australia has the same law but in the States they have what they call "statute of limitations" after a certain amount of time that passes by, according to U.S. law they can't come after you legally.. you should see if Australia has something similar
Sorry I got here so late, but you may want to have a look at the WorldFreemanSociety. Ok. Cheers!

ArizonaChris96 9 months ago
Try to go to court and see if they will lower the fines first, just don't ignore them it will be worse for you in the long run.

@MechTech82 Know a good lawyer??..lol..
TheFatAussieBarstard 9 months ago
@TheFatAussieBarstard I may have someone who can help. I've heard of many stories like this before, and if you stand your ground and tell them where to shove it as well as get your mates in the media involved, they usually fold. They need hard evidence to prove it, plus something as old as that, I'm sure statute of limitations comes into play.
MechTech82 9 months ago
What! their fucking computer been asleep for all those years? Dont ring them, get some legal first Pete!

LOL

whatis07 9 months ago
i'd definately ask for some proof..
also, wouldnt there be a "Statute of limitations" that would run out?
THUMPBUMPDUDE 9 months ago
@THUMPBUMPDUDE I,m going to look into that....7 yrs I believe
TheFatAussieBarstard 9 months ago
How convenient of for them to wait so many years that you can't remember that pacific day in time in fine detail to defend yourself in court... They often pull that crap over here in the states too. Not sure if Australia has the same law but in the States they have what they call "statute of limitations" after a certain amount of time that passes by, according to U.S. law they can't come after you legally.. you should see if Australia has something similar
ArizonaChris96 9 months ago
@ArizonaChris96 nah im from australia and unfortunately we dont have a time limit :/
