There are plenty of other natural alternatives that might be better to use on such a large scale oil spill but they have not yet been attempted, because a single plant item cannot be patented. Lots of farmers are ready to donate hay to use in the clean up, also harvesting cattails for use seems like a viable solution as well. There's even oil eating bacteria. It's going to be difficult now anyway, seeing that the chemical dispersant BP has used to hide the oil makes cleanup extremely difficult.
Any kind of biomass would... likely work as an effective absorbent. There needs to be a lot of people involved, organization, LOW TECH, work. Stop BP from using chemical dispersant which puts more toxins into the ocean, and makes cleaning up the oil extremely difficult. Get people to arrive at a certain point and dump whatever biodegradable plant mass into the water and have boats use nets to drag it through the oil. How does this stuff cost to fully utilize, and WHO WILL BE PAYING FOR IT?
Of course the Fibertect is patented, how else will money be made? the Dutch super tankers tried to come volunteer for the Gulf clean up, they are specifically designed to clean up with their in design centrifuges to siphon and separate in a MASS oil clean up,, but opp's our trusty government the gambinos sent them away,, its obvious to me this is another attempt to pass a carbon tax i.e. Copenhagen globalist got pissed off when their pimp Al Gore got his convenient truth rip off exposed!!
The most professional research technology represented by the most amateur videography and editing.. No offense, but I'd love to see a more professional representation from our university.

Is the material reusable? If so, how do you remove the oil once the Fibertech has absorbed its limit?

@Mastern It can be used up to five times. Just wring it out and it's ready to go again.

I Totally agree with you, if Tech is going to present itself on the internet, then it needs to have a professional approach to it.
No tripod was used, no camera angles were used.
This is basic stuff 14 year olds on youtube master.
