When they finished Hong Kongs airport, it was said to be the largest and most modern airport there was. Only to be beaten by...Beijing a few years later. Shanghai also one of the best in the world.
So China has the three biggest and most modern airports. Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, United States:
Largest number of passengers annually (1998–present);
Most arrivals and departures (operations) annually (1999–2000, 2005–present); In 2007, Hartsfield again set the world's record for most aircraft movements in one year with 994,346.
Most flights (2006).
Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China
It's a nice airport alright. I went through there last summer on my way to and from
Changzhou to see my girlfriend, and then again this past February. It's very easy to get around.

the japanese funded the construction of this airport, which is probably one good reason that it is engineered as nicely as it is.
