Ik weet niet wat voorn paarden jij rijdt, maar de mijne kunnen soms ook uit het niets flippen en zo raar doen.. dat is niet omdat ik hem pijnig... Ik ben ook tegen hyperflexion, mja als je het zo nu en dan eens doet is ook geen grote ramp. Kijk maar eens naar de paarden in de topsport zien ze er allemaal zo zielig uit? En de meeste lijken darn happy als ze in de ring zijn

waarom zou anky niet kunnen rijden?? ze is 3 keer olympisch kampioen geweest. ze rijd al zo lang ze weet heus wel wat ze met een paard doet. en dat ze haar paarden te hard traint en dat die paarden te ver aan de teugel lopen is gelul. er zijn ook paarden die dat uit zichzelf doen als jij de hulpen geeft kunnen ze automatisch te ver gaan. denk eerst na voor dat je een reactie plaats.
Jullie zeuren nou wel dat ze met Rollkur rijdt, maar zij weet echt wel wat ze zelf doet. ZIJ rijd Olypische Spelen, JULLIE niet! Ze zal eht zelf ook heus wel door hebben als ze het doet. Ze trekt ze heus neit achter de loodlijn. Paarden kunnen ook zelf te diep lopen om sommige stukken. Mijn paard loopt ook wel eens achter de loodlijn zonder dat ik trek of iets dat daar op lijkt! Anky is 3x Olypisch kampioen geworden! En horen wij daar iemand zeggen dat ze met rollkur rijdt? NEE!
ik heb niet het idee dat het alleen door het apploas van het plubliek komt. volgens mij schrok hij dat wel, maar dat hij zelf daarna doorbokt is dus echt niet van de schrik! en zoizo lijken me die bokken niet van de schrik! dan is het eerder een hogen, en dan rennen, maar geen rodeo show! tja... met een jong paard kan gewoon zoiets gebeuren, en met drezuurbeugels heb je ook niet al teveel steun :P
Too bad Nelson didn't permanently injure her neck & spine as she does to her horses (& trains others to torture their horses) with her "training". She should never be allowed to touch another horse. She is disgusting and a DISGRACE to the sport!!! And SHAME on the judges for even allowing her to compete, much less giving her medals!!!!

I'd reply in German but I read it better than I speak... look at a few of the "natural dressage" videos on Youtube and you will see that horses in freedom hold their heads like that. Also they often flick their tails around when ridden like that which is their body language for "Hey I'm enjoying that everyone is looking at me <3"
And a horse that's in pain/annoyed/whichever, WILL throw you off regardless. So Anky would be thrown every time if that were true.
Horse and rider came from a flight from Oslo and the people at this clinic hadn't counted on the horse needing to be warmed up before starting. So both horse and rider came in nervous/hurried without having had a chance to calm down a bit and warmed up...
Hence at the applause, the horse flipped and started bucking like an idiot. Neither horse nor rider can be blamed for this.

Rollkur is een methode, geen "ding". Het wordt ook wel LDR genoemd, wat staat voor Laag Diep en Rond. Die naam omschrijft meteen de houding van het paard tijdens het uitoefenen van die bewuste trainingsmethode.
Mensen die roepen dat ze zich aanstelt, moeten eerst zelf maar eens in Groningen zien te komen bij zo'n clinic. Te paard wel te verstaan!
Moet je weten wrrm dat beest weg sprong? Door zo'n Rollkur. Moet je maar eens opzoeken, dat ding is een marteling voor die arme paarden. Anky is een monster, dat kan je gewoon niet ontkennen.
Verschilt per paard - sommigen gaan liever keihard door t bos racen, sommigen vinden het geweldig om dressuur te doen en daarbij zo mooi mogelijk te lopen.
Net als mensen soms graag voetballen en anderen er een hekel aan hebben, bijvoorbeeld. :P
Dat je hem achter de loodlijn laat lopen, wat tegenwoordig het klassieke rijden is, gadverdamme, rollkur / hyperflectie komt voor een groot deel door anky, dat het zo normaal is geworden om je paard maar in de bek te huffen om hem aan de teugel te krijgen ;)

Ik zie wel vaker paarden die hebben dan wel hun oren naar voren, maar zie je in hun ogen dat het ze pijn doen.. Want eigenlijk als je ze achter de loodlijn laat lopen, kunnen ze zowieso niet echt lekker meer door hun lichaam lopen
Well, as the saying goes, 'the horse is never wrong' Whatever the reason, the horse needed to react in that way and as a rider and trainer one should seek the reason (something to do with human action or inaction every time) and fix it!!
ALL outbursts like this can be prevented if one can understand and read the horse at every given moment and react appropriately and at the right time. (And no I cannot do it every time myself before anyone starts! I do however know a few people who most of the time can, and I try and learn from them as often as I can) The greatest teacher is the horse though, but we have to listen to him!
whats wrong with you silverflake? you need some help if you honestly call hyperflexion "torture". Torture is when you tie something to a rope and get a knife and start slicing it really slowly until it dies over time. Hyperflexion is not tortue, horse do not die from it or show any signs of discomfort

No seriously, think about it, would you like it yourself? Try and keep (by pressing with a hand that ought to give about the same result) your head like that for more than 10 sec. can't you feel discomfort? And lounged like that for 10-15 min, it must be horrible. Beside that, you can't keep an eye out for predators, when you are forced to move like this, all the time.

I was getting blonde in my hair at the hair dressers the other day and i had to keep my head down on my chest for about 10 minutes. Not at all did it get sore or discomforting. It stretched my back and neck muscles really well. these positions for horses are not unnatural. In the wild they will do this for a few seconds at a time.
And why they don't show the discomfort...? One if the biggest instincts in horses are their survival-instinct. So if a hunter sees a horse in pain, they know they are easy food. Like every other prey-animals, they try to hide their pain. And they know, even though they are put in pain, they will be alive after the lesson, so they just keep on doing as told, because then they know, they'll survive.
So when we ride them like this, just like everything, you ride it in moderation, and as the horse develops and is stronger he has the suppleness to do this in extreme flexion. Oh really? so the horse is not going to show his discomfort because he doesnt want a the rider to kill him? LOL! what a load of twaddle!
I think you forgot i bit of my idea, to be pulled or pushed into this unnatural position. Yes, horses is in this position when they have an itchy spot on the chest, but how often to you see a horse trot or canter around in the field with their nose on the chest(like Anky ask of the horse)? Even though I've been sitting in the field for ages this summer(to study the behaviour of horses) it never happened, sorry..
youre also forgetting that a little cob faty pony running around the paddock is not no where near as strong as a GP horse. Those horses are not "forced" or "pulled" there at all. Get your facts straight before you start talking twaddle
1 - satchmo is isabel werths horse. salinero is ankys. 2 - "what ever you call it in english" this is clearly saying that you dont ride dressage, therefore you wouldnt know the first thing about it. And yes, horses do put there heads on their chest while troting and cantering in the field. They do it very offeten. Like ive said, they dont do it for long, so by the time theyre at GP theyre strong enough to benefit. You dont ride dressage so you wouldnt have the first clue

NO they Don't put their muzzle on their chest while trotting around, they collect thenself and sometimes go under vitical,but never as far as cantering around with it at his chest!

Yes, they do run around with there noses extremely behind the vertical. Yes, they will touch their chest for a split second. And i feel like a retard having to repeat myself in saying that as they get higher through the levels they get stronger, once they get stronger, they can handle more flexion, thus getting them even more stronger and supple.
If he wanted to kill you, he would have done it, you wouldn't have standed a change. But it's not in their behaviour to be so violent, so you might feel safe. But you have one of their most sensitive parts (if not the number one) of their body in control, I would do as told if I was him as well, if not for my survival, then for my sensitive mouth and tongue sake.

wrong - he is put under extreme flexion after he has built up strength over the years. You will never see anky ride a horse in extreme hyperflexion from the age 5 - 9. by the time theyre 9 or 10 theyre doing GP and they are very strong fit and healthy horses. And to get them to reach their full potential yperlfexion makes them that much more supple, better movement, and overal a better horse. This clearly shows in salinero and satchmo today

Good for the horse - he's unhappy if he's reacting that violently. I've had horses throw bucks because they weren't pleased. I'm glad she wasn't killed, but it serves her right to get a forceful lesson that perhaps she should reconsider her riding style.

Like people say "The Naughty ones have more Class"! and i'm having that same problem with my Mare! but you just deal with it. Anky took Nelson to a Clinic and Won a Class a week after the incident! remember love, Everyone will fall off sometimes, no matter experienced your are!! anyway you know Anky well don't you? Saying it was Salinero and it wasn't it was Nelson!
it wasn't salinero, it was Nelson! Also Anky explained why it happened, not enough room for Warming Up and the horse was not in a True connection with Anky when it happened. Sports Horses need more time to Warm up if they are hot headed! like Nelson is. Anky did very well to stay on, know one can say "i would of stayed on" because you can't say that, it's all down to luck at times when that happens.

Again it's different when ur riding a Stallion who is Hot headed! one minute u have connection & next the Stallion could change ways! Excitement smells from a Mare near by, or suddenly switches off. A mare is different, she can either be quite, calm or just plain moody, hot headed or time of month as my mare suffers from, as of Stage Fright!
4yr olds are more innocent in a way of going at that time of age so u can't say it's always connected, because 1 day u will find ur 4 yr old will be become difficult at a time may b Exuberance, Naughtiness, excitement & so on.

I remember just 2 weeks i had my Baby (now 3 years old) i got on my Mare, who then was trust worthy, warming up nicely and then bolt, buck buck buck. She was like a Rodeo! I fell of at the end when the Bucks stopped and broken 3 of my knuckles. I still went to Show a few days later though. It is hard to stay on when your not used to it!

alles wathij moet doen(bijna alles) doet een paard in de natuur ook als hij bijv. blij is!
het enige on natuurlijke is dat hij al die dingen achter elkaar aan moet doen!

tsja en als een paard voor het eerst iemand op zijn rug heef hij nou eenmaal helemaal door het lint gaan!
nee ik ben nog nooit ernstig gebleseerd hoor :-)
het ergste was toen ik 5 was ging ik springen en toen viel ik onder de pony begon hij te lopen over mijn rug heen :-(
maarja toen reed ik op mijn vaders pony's een b ponytje was dat toen! :-)

Maar dat jij je eigen paarden hebt ingereden - dan is het wel begrijpelijk ^^
Gelukkig dat je nooit iets ernstigs hebt gehad, je hebt ook van die mensen die gelijk iets ergs hebben bij bijv. een eerste keer vallen o.o
En een B-pony'tje is ook niet erg hoog, maar goed, het kan altijd erger ^^

hallo de beste vallen er is een keer af iedereen die zegt dat het paard terug vecht is dom waarom valt ze dan niet vaaker van nelson af? als een paard zit terug te vechten zie je dat wel aan de mond en probeert hij het wel vaker om haar eraf te gooien en heeft ie dat gedaan nee dit was toevallig is een keer dat ze eraf werd gegooid voor de camera's en dan zeggen jullie dat ze niet kan rijden dat vind ik egt super dom egt waar je bent dan gewoon spr jaloers heb respect voor haar

gelul met die rollkur, mensen die dat zeggen zijn jaloers als ze zo had gereden had ze niet 3x Olypische kampioen geweest want dan hadden de jury enzo dat wel gezien en had ze minder punten of werd ze zelfs gediskalificeerd omdat het niet goed is voor het paard. & wat Sjef zei is gewoon waar, het kwam door het applaus en door de beperkingen bij de voorbereiding. waarom zou anky niet kunnen rijden?? ze is 3 keer olympisch kampioen geweest. ze rijd al zo lang ze weet heus wel wat ze met een paard doet. en dat ze haar paarden te hard traint en dat die paarden te ver aan de teugel lopen is gelul. er zijn ook paarden die dat uit zichzelf doen als jij de hulpen geeft kunnen ze automatisch te ver gaan. denk eerst na voor dat je een reactie plaats.

Jullie zeuren nou wel dat ze met Rollkur rijdt, maar zij weet echt wel wat ze zelf doet. ZIJ rijd Olypische Spelen, JULLIE niet! Ze zal eht zelf ook heus wel door hebben als ze het doet. Ze trekt ze heus neit achter de loodlijn. Paarden kunnen ook zelf te diep lopen om sommige stukken. Mijn paard loopt ook wel eens achter de loodlijn zonder dat ik trek of iets dat daar op lijkt! Anky is 3x Olypisch kampioen geworden! En horen wij daar iemand zeggen dat ze met rollkur rijdt? NEE!

ik heb niet het idee dat het alleen door het apploas van het plubliek komt. volgens mij schrok hij dat wel, maar dat hij zelf daarna doorbokt is dus echt niet van de schrik! en zoizo lijken me die bokken niet van de schrik! dan is het eerder een hogen, en dan rennen, maar geen rodeo show! tja... met een jong paard kan gewoon zoiets gebeuren, en met drezuurbeugels heb je ook niet al teveel steun :P

moet je kijken wat er allemaal in de Z, ZZ en whatever zit, dat je dat doet zegt niks meer, ze gebruikt rollkur/hyperflectie, het is misschien iets beter geworden, maar ze kan aardig gemeen zijn in de bek, maarja, als jij een van al die andere slechte ruiters, een van de bektrekkers bent, dan zal je haar ook wel goed vinden rijden ja

Ich hab den clip immer wieder geschaut und versteh es auch noch nicht ganz.. Scheinbar kommt bevor Nelson so loslegt ein Blitzlicht von einer Fotokamera aus dem Publikum. Das er dann so losbockt find ich aber eher seltsam, normalerweise würde er doch eher scheuen..

Horses don't throw people only because they are in pain - that's very wrong. They don't usually intend to throw a rider at all or try to do it at all - they just react instinctively to a sudden noise or sight, or they start to buck out of simply feeling frisky. The idea that they are always in pain if a rider comes off, or that they deliberately think through how to get the rider off is not right.

I'd reply in German but I read it better than I speak... look at a few of the "natural dressage" videos on Youtube and you will see that horses in freedom hold their heads like that. Also they often flick their tails around when ridden like that which is their body language for "Hey I'm enjoying that everyone is looking at me <3"
And a horse that's in pain/annoyed/whichever, WILL throw you off regardless. So Anky would be thrown every time if that were true.

Horse and rider came from a flight from Oslo and the people at this clinic hadn't counted on the horse needing to be warmed up before starting. So both horse and rider came in nervous/hurried without having had a chance to calm down a bit and warmed up...
Hence at the applause, the horse flipped and started bucking like an idiot. Neither horse nor rider can be blamed for this.

haha, nou kijk maar eens goed rond op alle wedstrijden en overal! Dan heb je van die achterlijke "profesionals" die in het M, Z, ZZ, of nog hoger lopen, zooo slecht, alleen maar bektrekken enz.. en weet je wat het ergste is, hier in het noorden, zie ik misschien per wedstrijd maar 1 of 2 GOEIE ruiters!
Dat is dus geen gezeur, maar serieus probleem in de paardenwereld!
Anky heeft trouwens de paarden wel lekker over het lichaam lopen, maar trekt ze veel te vaak achter de loodlijn.

Rollkur is een methode, geen "ding". Het wordt ook wel LDR genoemd, wat staat voor Laag Diep en Rond. Die naam omschrijft meteen de houding van het paard tijdens het uitoefenen van die bewuste trainingsmethode.
Mensen die roepen dat ze zich aanstelt, moeten eerst zelf maar eens in Groningen zien te komen bij zo'n clinic. Te paard wel te verstaan!

Verschilt per paard - sommigen gaan liever keihard door t bos racen, sommigen vinden het geweldig om dressuur te doen en daarbij zo mooi mogelijk te lopen.

Dat je hem achter de loodlijn laat lopen, wat tegenwoordig het klassieke rijden is, gadverdamme, rollkur / hyperflectie komt voor een groot deel door anky, dat het zo normaal is geworden om je paard maar in de bek te huffen om hem aan de teugel te krijgen ;)

daar doet de rijder niks bij, dat paard vindt het geweldig om zo te lopen en dan maakt hij tevreden geluidjes en oortjes naar voren enzo,
dus is dat dan ook een rollkur?
Of is ht alleen rollkur als het paard tegen z'n wil zo loopt?

Hmm, ja die grens kan je niet altijd zien, maar paarden horen in hun neus en oren in één lijn te hebben, als je een goede aanleuning hebt gaat dit makelijk,
Zijn vaak wel paarden die duiken, maar dat is geen goede aanleuning, daar moet je hem dan heenrijden..
Ik zie wel vaker paarden die hebben dan wel hun oren naar voren, maar zie je in hun ogen dat het ze pijn doen.. Want eigenlijk als je ze achter de loodlijn laat lopen, kunnen ze zowieso niet echt lekker meer door hun lichaam lopen

Nelson has always had caracter, just like his half-sister which I ride. They are both very friendly to handle, but sometimes still amase you.
I saw her ride today in Mechelen and he didn't looked tortured to me. He danced. Pure magic.

ALL outbursts like this can be prevented if one can understand and read the horse at every given moment and react appropriately and at the right time. (And no I cannot do it every time myself before anyone starts! I do however know a few people who most of the time can, and I try and learn from them as often as I can) The greatest teacher is the horse though, but we have to listen to him!

whats wrong with you silverflake? you need some help if you honestly call hyperflexion "torture". Torture is when you tie something to a rope and get a knife and start slicing it really slowly until it dies over time. Hyperflexion is not tortue, horse do not die from it or show any signs of discomfort

No seriously, think about it, would you like it yourself? Try and keep (by pressing with a hand that ought to give about the same result) your head like that for more than 10 sec. can't you feel discomfort? And lounged like that for 10-15 min, it must be horrible. Beside that, you can't keep an eye out for predators, when you are forced to move like this, all the time.
Why ever put an animal in such an unnatural position..?!

I was getting blonde in my hair at the hair dressers the other day and i had to keep my head down on my chest for about 10 minutes. Not at all did it get sore or discomforting. It stretched my back and neck muscles really well. these positions for horses are not unnatural. In the wild they will do this for a few seconds at a time.

And why they don't show the discomfort...? One if the biggest instincts in horses are their survival-instinct. So if a hunter sees a horse in pain, they know they are easy food. Like every other prey-animals, they try to hide their pain. And they know, even though they are put in pain, they will be alive after the lesson, so they just keep on doing as told, because then they know, they'll survive.

So when we ride them like this, just like everything, you ride it in moderation, and as the horse develops and is stronger he has the suppleness to do this in extreme flexion. Oh really? so the horse is not going to show his discomfort because he doesnt want a the rider to kill him? LOL! what a load of twaddle!

I think you forgot i bit of my idea, to be pulled or pushed into this unnatural position. Yes, horses is in this position when they have an itchy spot on the chest, but how often to you see a horse trot or canter around in the field with their nose on the chest(like Anky ask of the horse)? Even though I've been sitting in the field for ages this summer(to study the behaviour of horses) it never happened, sorry..

1 - satchmo is isabel werths horse. salinero is ankys. 2 - "what ever you call it in english" this is clearly saying that you dont ride dressage, therefore you wouldnt know the first thing about it. And yes, horses do put there heads on their chest while troting and cantering in the field. They do it very offeten. Like ive said, they dont do it for long, so by the time theyre at GP theyre strong enough to benefit. You dont ride dressage so you wouldnt have the first clue

NO they Don't put their muzzle on their chest while trotting around, they collect thenself and sometimes go under vitical,but never as far as cantering around with it at his chest!
As said before, I have ridden dressage, jut not anymore..!

Yes, they do run around with there noses extremely behind the vertical. Yes, they will touch their chest for a split second. And i feel like a retard having to repeat myself in saying that as they get higher through the levels they get stronger, once they get stronger, they can handle more flexion, thus getting them even more stronger and supple.

If he wanted to kill you, he would have done it, you wouldn't have standed a change. But it's not in their behaviour to be so violent, so you might feel safe. But you have one of their most sensitive parts (if not the number one) of their body in control, I would do as told if I was him as well, if not for my survival, then for my sensitive mouth and tongue sake.
When the horse 'develop'? why is he then put in such extreme flexion after only a few lessons?

wrong - he is put under extreme flexion after he has built up strength over the years. You will never see anky ride a horse in extreme hyperflexion from the age 5 - 9. by the time theyre 9 or 10 theyre doing GP and they are very strong fit and healthy horses. And to get them to reach their full potential yperlfexion makes them that much more supple, better movement, and overal a better horse. This clearly shows in salinero and satchmo today

Actually, sorry for the horse but I was surprised he could buck like that having no hind end and mega-shoulders from the stupid practice of rollkur. Maybe she should go yank on his mouth some more. That's sure to help.

Let her jab you with spurs while holding a death-grip on your face and then tell me you wouldn't throw her off. What she does to her animals is horrible, training method or not. I feel bad for her horses for what they have to endure. I do NOT feel bad for her. She should know better. She is what gives dressage a bad name. She and people like her should be put to shame for what they do. Shame.

Als ze een beetje lokkerer zou zijn zou ze heel langer hebben kunnen zitten blijven. Als het paard vertrouwen gehad zou hebben zou het heel veel sneller opgehoort hebben.

Good for the horse - he's unhappy if he's reacting that violently. I've had horses throw bucks because they weren't pleased. I'm glad she wasn't killed, but it serves her right to get a forceful lesson that perhaps she should reconsider her riding style.
I'm quite happy as a person, so don't try that...

Like people say "The Naughty ones have more Class"! and i'm having that same problem with my Mare! but you just deal with it. Anky took Nelson to a Clinic and Won a Class a week after the incident! remember love, Everyone will fall off sometimes, no matter experienced your are!! anyway you know Anky well don't you? Saying it was Salinero and it wasn't it was Nelson!

it wasn't salinero, it was Nelson! Also Anky explained why it happened, not enough room for Warming Up and the horse was not in a True connection with Anky when it happened. Sports Horses need more time to Warm up if they are hot headed! like Nelson is. Anky did very well to stay on, know one can say "i would of stayed on" because you can't say that, it's all down to luck at times when that happens.

Anky did not make "good job staying on", lots of riders can do the same, as such as they would almost all fall down at the same time...
But stop searching excuses, good reasons and all other stuff to make her not bad...If her horse was well dressed, and also ok in his head, it would not have happened...
My horse is not always connected, it's 4 yo. So I longe, and when I feel it's ok, I go work...simple no?

Again it's different when ur riding a Stallion who is Hot headed! one minute u have connection & next the Stallion could change ways! Excitement smells from a Mare near by, or suddenly switches off. A mare is different, she can either be quite, calm or just plain moody, hot headed or time of month as my mare suffers from, as of Stage Fright!

Not so long ago I was thinking of selling it. But I didn't, I just stopped going out, working all the time and get into conflicts.
And now, I can ride my horse without a bit in calm, 3 months ago I could not have done it.
And I didn't use rollkur!

ben het eens met gekkegettie weinig profesioneel om met zo'n fris paard de ring in te komen maar i.d.d. erg goed dat ze de rodeo uitzit.ben overgens van mening dat ze ,als ze niet zo bang was geworden van haar vorige val(len)ze hem nog wel had kunnen stoppen de eerste seconde had hij vrij spel.Sorry Ank.

Het filmpje is meeten van youtube gehaald... ik heb het in het echt gezien. Nelson deed echt raar. Maar zij had mogen longerenin een andere gedeeltje van de hal. Maar dat was te "klein" terwijl Lammert Haanstra daar 'longeerclinics' geeft!
Paard was gewoon fris... klaar, geen smoesjes.

I remember just 2 weeks i had my Baby (now 3 years old) i got on my Mare, who then was trust worthy, warming up nicely and then bolt, buck buck buck. She was like a Rodeo! I fell of at the end when the Bucks stopped and broken 3 of my knuckles. I still went to Show a few days later though. It is hard to stay on when your not used to it!
