Fun facts that you probably don't know. I'm kin to the main singer's wife of this band. and the guy in this pic is my grandpa coots... Man I miss him so much. ;'(.... he died when he was 97 he was so close to breaking the 100 mark. :)
They just got done playing the town square in Carlyle, IL. They did the pulp fiction theme for this part of the show. My mom knows his older brother and sister
they played at y gramma and grandpas "club house" (they live in a retirement neighbor hood) and i got to meet these guys. THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER. they are really good for an underground band. thir all really nice and funny.
There are a couple of things to ponder here. First is that you need to take into account that the trumpet player was the one guy playing acoustically in an otherwise amplified ensemble. Second, his tone is fat nasty because it's the character of the piece. Miserlou is an old klezmer/gypsy tune, so it's not meant to sound "concert pretty." The main point is the character and the energy. His intonation through the fourth and fifth partials was very good, as was his expression. I liked it. =)
I saw the Dusty 45's do this at Seatac airport a couple of weeks ago. Hot stuff!. Bought the CD.
