  • high performance cams available?

  • @eltavosf - Yes, hydraulic or solid?

  • old brass guides ??? ouch

  • Very strange head design. Why are some of the valves in deep pockets john? : D

  • This is the May Fireball combustion chamber design. Some of the V-12 Jag's used this as well.

  • Is there a purpose for the design? Is it to do with Scavenging? : D

  • That's part of it. When the fuel charge is compressed into the small cavity where the ex valve is located, it heats the mixture so that it becomes more homogenious and ignites and burns more evenly. Unburned fuel ends up as unburned hydrocarbons in the tail pipe, when analyzed. That help?

  • That explains it totally for me! There is not many people that will give you a no crap direct answer but you did! Thank you for yr replies. Im learning loads from yr videos cant wait for the next! : D Im trying to get yr books but they are as rare as Hens teeth! Cant get them for love nor money : (

  • same here

  • ¿Huh? Is it the same idea of the diesel engines? You know the precombustion chambers?

  • This is the May-Fireball combustion chamber and is not very similar to a diesel pre-combustion chamber at all. The design works well and was used by a number of engine manufacturers.
