  • As much as i love this movie, at 4:44 someone handed him the spear. Heh.

    Dem mistakez

  • Love the look the Orc commander gives when he realizes the arrows aren't doing anything.

  • god ... i want to charge with them

  • Thumbs up if this gives you goose bumps!!

  • the orcs were shitting them selfs

  • o3:45 my favorite part of the song and charge

  • massed cavalry charge.

  • If you listen hard you can hear some cowboy whoops work their way in.

  • I'm sorry, but Theoden will always be a better king than Aragorn. You just cannot beat this charge.

  • @LordSandvichman i second that. theoden leads his men twice from the front in the trilogy, and nearly a month after the kicked uruk hai ass, they plow their way through 250 000 orcs. aragorn leads his men (living men that is) three times, first he loses them all but two (legolas and gimli, the only two survivers of the deeping wall) and then he gets his ass kicked by a troll, only surviving and winning the battle because someone half his size takes out the supreme bad guy.(this is sarcasm people)

  • there was a time I knew the intire tekst of every person in this movie....

  • 2:52 Roger Rabbitt, stay with me

  • This scene always gives me the thrills this is probably the best charge I have ever scene in a movie

  • @moukidelmar Not a bad charge for some millions of pixels

  • 04:49 WTF is he doin lol

  • I can just imagine how much less epic this battle would be if one of the orcs just sniped him with a crossbow mid speech.

  • This cavalry charge shown is so realistic ! i read that medieval knights used to form a moving wall and they used to crash at least 10 enemies' row formations! ! ! Someone said there is nothing INFANTRY man can do against a horse charging at him ! So its pretty cool to see this video! Best one!

  • i get goosebumps evertime i watch this

  • @skillmyster666 its maggots...not faggots LOL

  • @Darkcarnivalwow There's a difference??..lol

  • holy shit i'm drooling

  • "Form ranks, you faggots, form ranks!"

  • What's the song where the music picks up on the last death before the charge begins?

  • I love the look on Gothmog's face when he shits himself.

  • tears shall be spilled , tvs shall be broken , an long day , an epic day, WITH THE GOOSE BUMPS ,watch now! watch for epicness , for the worlds best film , YYYAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • epic war speach!

  • The final cinematic of WOW's 6th expansion right here..... The Alliance beating the Horde.

  • Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered, a sword day, a red day and the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride for ruin and the world at it's end! DEATH!!!

  • @domnescu21 I use this same war cry at job interviews. Sixty percent of the time it works every time.

  • fire? dont you mean loose? I dont think fire has much to do with the operation of bows

  • hhhhhhhh....do you not KNOW dETH when you see it-oLD MAN... this is ma WAHH

  • orcs are really wimps! 4:46 :D

  • All that can be said here is that a Balrog of MORGOTH (Dark Valar) is stronger than a Witch King of SAURON (Morgoth's Lieutenant). A serious error, since Gandalf the White won that battle.

  • @ShieldMaidenofBree he was actually gandalf the grey when he fought the balrog of morgoth , he dident become gandalf the white till after the fight and he died and was returned by the valar with sarumans powers

  • @tex58434

The Grey was killed by the Balrog, but Eru (proper God, not King of the Angels as Manwe was) sent him back in greater power. He then fought the Balrog until he destroyed it.

The Witch King isn't even on the same power level. Not when Narya is an Elf Ring and The Witch King's power source is a knock off made by Sauron. Hes a mortal man too, Gandalf and Sauroman (Radaghast too) were Angels. The Vala such as Manwe and Morgoth being Archangels.

  • @ShieldMaidenofBree 1 some of what u say is true but some is not ,gandalf the grey died just after killing the balrog , he was sent back by eru illuvatar with greater powers and taken to lorien by gwaithir lord of the eagles and healed by the elves and given white robes by galadriel, but he still wasent as powerful as the witch king , for starters gandalfs ring narya ring of fire wasent originally his it was given to him by gil galad

  • @ShieldMaidenofBree 2 and yes narya was an elf ring one of the three , they were still under the influence of the one ring, even though they wernt made by sauron , they were made by, celebrimbor master smith of the elves , but celebrimbor was trained by sauron so the three elven rings were still bound to the one ,just as were the nine given to men , most powerful being the witch king of agmar ,he was undead , immortal , and was saurons second incommand for 4000 years,

  • @ShieldMaidenofBree 3 gandalf and saruman and radagast and the two blue wizards were maiar spirits as were many other being in middle earth, including sauron who was corrupted by melkor , maiar spirits were servents of the valar ,such as manwe, ulmo, aule, lorien. there not angels they came into being through the music of eru illuvatar and , were allowed to create there own music , which created the worldthey all had there own parts

  • For The King!!!

  • how come when a horse dies it doesnt trip up the other horses causing a huge wreck of horses because theres like a thousand horse all in one group right behind one another

  • @atlantbravesforever Because the other horses will ride around of jump over it.

  • loads of people seem to be hating on peter jackson for miss-portraying,omitting etc but the fact of the matter is that it would have been an impossibility to do much more and what they came out with can surely be ranked amongst the great films. People cut what they have to cut to make a film and unlike series like harry potter where straying from the books massively, happens regularly, here you can still lift dialogue and portions out of the films and read them in the books which is commendable.

  • @Kaucheese1 I agree. I think it's foolish that people don't understand that you can't fit a book (especialy one like LOTR) into a two hour movie, and have every scene to the letter. It's simply not possible, and audiences are not going to be entertained. The commendable part is that they did a good job. It tells the beginning and end as it was written, and has the story as close as a film can make it, even if it has some inconsistancies with the novel.

  • @ZvezdaFTW The makers of the movie actually consulted the lore clubs(fans and experts of the text). They actually had the script edited according to what the experts acknowledged can be changed and what cannot. Therefore, you are certainly right, it is truly as close as a film can make it. (Even from those experts point of view.)

  • i just realized.....thatsalot of fucking horses!

  • is it just me, or are orcish weapons comically small?

  • 4:44 where is Eomer grabbing the spear from? He's clearly not holding it but then a second later he is. Was there another horse going the exact same speed next to him and the rider handed him a spear?

  • At 1.00 I did a fistpump!

  • these movies are missing a major charactor , tom bombadil, he was a major player to tolkien, saveing the hobbits on a number of occasions , in the old forrest his power was absolute and no evil could touch him,so why his he missing from these movies ? there is so much depth and history in tolkiens world of middle earth the movies barely touch the surface, like sauron wasent the true dark lord morgoth was ,sauron was one of morgoths liutenents who took over when morgoth was beaten.

  • @tex58434 It's a movie designed NOT just to appeal to Tolkien fans but to a broader audience. How do you explain Tom Bombadil to a non-Tolkien fan? He only appears in Fellowship of the Ring and has no real impact on any of the other books so why does the movie need him? Not even Tolkien provided a satisfying explanation for Bombadil, simply that he was a nature spirit present when Arda was first crafted and the Valar stepped out into Arda.

  • @tex58434 Also, the movies make mention of Morgoth (in the extended editions at least) when mentioning the Balrog. But does an audience NEED to know that to enjoy the movie? Probably not. The book only makes clear that Sauron is not the first and offers just hints of past events detailed in the Silmarillion. So in the context of a film, why ask audiences to remember yet another piece of history? Where would they even fit it in? The explanation in the first film was already 10 minutes long.

  • @Gilgamesh417 i know what ur saying , i just feel peter jackson missed the boat a bit on such an amazing piece of work by tolkien, why start at the end of known history of middle earth when he could have started at the beginnig which as far greater story lines and colourful charactors, such as the great lamps , the trees of valar , melkor ,ugoliant the giant spider, huan the wolfhound, beren and luithien, helm hammerhand ,the list is endless ,

  • @tex58434 harry shitty potter got 7 films within 10 years lol from begining to end , and in the right hands tolkiens work could have been a cinematic master piece, that could outpass anything ever seen in movies, and i feel jackson just took the easy road and never really wanted to take on the full story i know were getting the hobbit soon but would have much preferd to see the history of middle earth from the beginning to end rather than from the end working backwards , waste

  • pity huan the wolfhound wasent around, beren and luthians faithful freind ,he killed all the werewolfs on the isle of werewolfs, including morgoths pet carcaroth the sire of all werewolfs,,in berens quest for the simirals, and even beat sauron in wolf form , huan the wolfhound got sauron by the throat and sauron for all his might couldent escape so had to leave his pysical body to escape ,

  • No orc has been injured during the filming of this movie.

  • @guimonkluo True, they all died

  • Breath-taking, incredible, powerful... easily one of the greatest scenes in cinema history.

  • ok so his staff breaks from a little flame sword but its perfectly fine after fighting a huge flaming balrog?

  • @zocphra I think I can awnser your question. Have you ever heard of a Vacuum? Not the machine, but the phenomenon that happens when an area with no oxygen meets an area with oxygen or some other form of gas. When those 2 forces meet, the air gas would try to equalize itself over the space, therefore creating a force that pulls the air and other objects towards it. My theory is that the sword created a vacuum, which pulled the staff into it, but instead broke it instead.

  • If you can watch this scene, and not breathe a little faster while sitting a little more forward in your seat, then you're not human.

  • God i would hate so much to be one off them orcs with a short spear having to stand in the front:D And how much I like that viking looking crazy dude at 4.49 that just rushes a litle bit faster then everyone else thinking "I will be the first to die!!!!! DIE ALL" love it:D

  • i dont remember that part of the movie (at begin of this clip)

  • 4:48 a little excited dont you think??

  • 'FIRE AT WILL!"

    "Which one is Will?"

Not mine, but goddamn did I lol hard.

  • @RepThe21st

    Older than dirt.

  • I love how that Orc general (Gothmog I think they called him (yes I know the lord of the balrogs was Gothmog too)) was made out to be a big deal, dodging bits of falling masonry and whatnot, and Aragorn just slices his arm off like nbd and runs off.

  • looks like they got flanked ^^

  • I've just read this bit in the book.

  • Aand yet, he was defeated by a chick with a normal sword.

  • Thats exactly how the Polish Hussars rode over their enemies

  • Too bad the charge was rendered totally unnecessary when the Army of the Dead turned up and pwned Sauron.

  • hard to believe that Peter Jackson only used 250 ppl for this scene :P

  • @TheLarry998 My poor little grandmother got so excited when she watched this. She was like, "Look at all those people. :D" And Mum was like, "Most of them aren't real..."

  • 4:49 Deserves every damn medal that can be offered for pure "badassery".

  • Ok, Seriously, the guy on the horse charging at 4:49, looks like "THOSE F*CKERS INTERRUPTED LUNCH! LETS KILL 'EM!!" I first saw this, i died laughing, that goodness I first saw it on blueray in my home!

  • The description of this is best in the book. "And then all the host of Rohan burst into song, and the sang as they slew, for the joy of battle was on them, and the sound of their singing that was fair and terrible came even to the City."

  • When the Witch King said Gandalf was an old man, he was freaking right. Gandalf is older than Elrond, or any of the Elves. All the Wizards are Maia, servents of the Valar. They can take any form they choose though, so it makes me wonder why the Wizards took the form of old men. It's all in the Silmarillion. Now back to the best part of The Return of the King.

(Fact: Sauron and the Balrogs are Maias corrupted by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord

  • Why the fuck did I not get that part " about 0:32" in my DVD ? ffs

  • THIS MOVE will never gets old...its best of ALL TIMES!!!

  • One's blood can still be boiling even when watching this epic scene for the tenth time! It is irresistibly and infectiously stirring...

  • TACO BELL!!!!!!!

  • My favorite Movie, this is simple Epic. ...

  • ...and the sun rises!!! = and so it is this day!!! Awesome battle cry!

  • why the fuck do i, a grown up man, want to cry out of "too much emotions" each time i see this?

  • Gandalf staff being broken is the only scene that doesn't make any sense at fucking all in all the extended triolgy. In the books Gandalf stood against the Lich King almost as an equal, NOBODY BREAKS THE STAFF OF THE FUCKIN WHITE WIZARD.

  • @felipecortizo Gandalf was more than an equal, he was far more superior. GANDALF KILLS THE WITCH-KING WITH HIS MIND!!!

  • @felipecortizo ,,,the Witch King? the Lich King is from World of Warcraft, yo.

  • @felipecortizo nobody breaks the "staff" of the "fuckin" white wizard

could you keep a straight face while posting it?:p

  • @felipecortizo its witch king, not lich king...

  • @felipecortizo

True. Most likely, the writers wanted to make the Witch King look a bit more powerful than how he's supposed to be.

  • @felipecortizo

Only, Gandalf did it to Saruman, and Saruman was the White Wizard.

  • @RepThe21st Nope, Gandalf was the white wizard then, Saruman had been corrupted and left the "white" behind, using a robe that was of all colours and yadda yadda. Even in the movies, where he doesn't change his clothes, he's not the white wizard anymore, as Gandalf say when he meet Aragorn again: "I'm what Saruman was supposed to be."

  • @felipecortizo too much wow

  • @felipecortizo lich king? retard.....

  • @felipecortizo Lich king? maybe you've played too much WoW

  • Funny thing that @cenerozzz and @WoWrocks3388 were the only ones to catch the trolling.. But really, the witch-king of Angmar (no trolling this time) wouldn't stand a chance against a Maia.. WHO'S WEARING ONE OF THE RINGS OF POWER, FFS.

  • @felipecortizo Adding that he's a Maia like Sauron, while the Nazgul are human ghosts like Casper.

  • @felipecortizo This is an addition and it's a big problem with the EE versions of LOTR. Gandalf is a Maiar and fought and defeated a Balrog, also a Maiar (Maiar = demigods = angel incarnates) so it stands to reason that if Gandalf can defeat the Witch-King. The only reason I can see why Jackson included this is 1. The prophecy that no man can defeat the Witch-King or 2. The Witch-King is an extension of Sauron's will and Sauron is a Maiar of far greater power than even Gandalf the white.

  • @Gilgamesh417 1. this is true ,sauron was far more powerful than gandalf even though they were both maiar, but there are many different maiar spirits who were far more powerful the even sauron,a few to mention were ugoliant the great spider when she consumed the great trees of valar she became so powerful she captured melkor or morgoth who was one of the valar and was about to consume him but it took a hundred balrogs and there fire whips to whip her away and free melkor

  • @Gilgamesh417 2. another was huan the wolfhound of the valar he was a maiar spirit and he actually beat sauron in wolf form, then theres tom bombadil who was the oldest and wisest maiar spirit there was , he was the first and was said to have absolute power in his domain and no evil could touch him ,but as for gandalf being more powerful than the witch king of agmar no i dont think he was ,that would be like saying gandalf was more powerful than sauron which he wasent ,

  • @tex58434 It depends on if you interpret the Witch-King as a separate entity or as a mere extension of Sauron's will.

  • @Gilgamesh417 well he is definatly an extention of sauron, he as one of the 9 rings of power that were given to men,and we all know who made the rings.

  • @felipecortizo it makes less sense that Arwen recues Frodo in the first movie

  • Clearly the best thing ever.

  • ...hm...Ezio v.s all of them who would win?

  • The greatest adventure of all time!

  • Gandalf's staff gets broken?

    wat

  • Death!

  • So when does that ugly pig orc die. I hated that dude, I always wanted Aragorn to kill him lol

  • @airbaler its in the extended i think, hes chasin eowynn after her arms broken, gimli and aragorn sprint past and sort him lol

  • "The ugly one's mine"

  • so effing epic

  • Good video

  • Covered with a cookie ?

  • Comment removed

  • Why shouting so much, holywood lies. Bla bla bla lammmmmmmmmmme

  • How epic would it be do charge in and mess shit up like that?

  • Blitzkrieg!)))

  • Lord of the Rings games should be like Skyrim. Massive worlds. Level ups. Epic battles. I can already picture it.

  • @jsteffey88 You haven't seen Lord Of The Rings Onine, have you? I am a level 24 Hunter and I've already been to Rivendell :) The game is amazing and they just programmed more really epic battles in Isengard.

  • huh i'm only a 13 year old girl but i grew up with older brothers so i like this kinda stuff! tanks for uploading!!!!!!!!!!

  • like if you get shivers from this the first time you saw the movie, and every time after :)

  • @zocphra My best friend and I love The Battle of Pelennor Fields, one of our favorite scenes. This scene, along with the end of 300, always get my blood pumping.

  • @Tigerman1138 Really? It makes me really sad. Never knew why until I realized that the death they are shouting for is the death of their enemies but also the death of themselves since it was a suicide charge to fulfill their oaths. Jackson portrays the scale a little wonky here and almost makes it look like the Orcs and Rohirrim are equal in number. The the books, it was always a hopeless battle.

  • lol if he did that would suck

  • who is the asshole who disliked?

  • @anrew3

    The Witch King :D

  • The looks on the riders faces... Ho..ly..shit...

  • not the charge..the fight betwen gandalf and the witch king..

  • what? the video part isnt like this at all? never saw this b4 o0'!!!!!! wth =.

  • ONE guy disliked this! Let him be devoured by a thousand orcs!

  • Some movies I seen in my life I just want to FORGET!

    .

    .

So I can see them again :S

  • i sooooo wanna watch the trilogy now....

  • 4:39 OH SHIT moment.

  • Comment removed

  • auf deutsch ist das viel epischer als "diie" ^^

  • Gandalf: FOS ROH DAH

    true story

  • I once got attacked by a nazgul, then I took an arrow to the knee...

  • 3:56 that looks like the most amazing WALL OF DEATH EVER!

  • Probably the best scene in LoTR Return of King! I love it!

  • First scene is total rubbish... I can't believe that Jackson would make the Witch King defeat Gandalf. Gandalf would have made such short work of that wimp. As a grey wizard he was able to hold his own against all of the nine. Yet here Jackson makes him lose to one of the nine. What the *bleep*?! Let alone the fact that Aragorn was able to beat five or so of them in the Fellowship and Gandalf was able to beat Aragorn and two others. This charge is epic though :D

  • @sford605 this isnt just some Nazgûl that was the witch king of Angmar the lord of the Nazgûl the Black captain he ravaged the splinter kingdoms of arnor he served Sauron as his second in command for over 4000 years.........what are you talking about?

  • @silentkilla420

You act as if I think he's not powerful. He is powerful, but Gandalf was far moreso. Aragorn alone was able to route him and four of his companions, and Gandalf was able to hold off all nine when he was a mere grey wizard. Yes, he was a terrifying and powerful foe, but Gandlaf's power as a white wizard was unmatched by the witch king and his companions. What are you talking about?

  • Lol evryone is like Epic scene... im like... i wonder what the orcs in the first line are thinking!

  • must have been a hell of a thing to see your uncle lead 6,000 soldiers into battle

  • @zsmith2100 ekhm....wkhm.... you mean over 20000 ?

  • the best scene! Epic *.*

  • 4:44 he doesn't have a spear in hand and suddenly he has it!!

  • 4:41 OH SHIT!!!

  • Rohan= Middle Earth's Ireland

  • did you record the sound in a bin?

  • The only movie serie that gave me chills. Man, this actually made me shed man tears :')

  • Gives me chills EVERYTIME! Best Scene in the best Movie.

  • 0:29 Hey dude NEVER take an old mans staff. It's not polite

  • 4:28

oh the orc looks so beautiful

  • why havent i seen the scene with witch king and gendalf?

  • @coolas000 They cut it out of the film because it's a load of bullshit.

  • is this an unseen clip from the original extended or something? Or have I just not seen this in so long...

  • How come the Nazgul leaves Gandalf alone because of the cavalry charge and yet never does anything about the cavalry?

  • @Statalyzer his magic stick is broken, its his only way to fight with his magic.

  • @rtzurtzufghjfghj I was talking about the Nazgul, not Gandalf.

  • Why would they delete that scene (Gandalf and Witch King encounter) from the feature film? there were so many other scenes that they could have deleted instead...

  • LOTR special edition ftw!

  • I get shivers at this scene (and have burst into tears more than once while watching it... yeah, I don't know why). Absolutely flawless.

  • 1 orc survived and disliked the video

  • How come the Witch King ( a mere mortal that become a shadow) is able to break the staff of a Maiar?

  • @xKiraKirinx Well he is a servant of Sauron who is Morgoth's (the most powerful Ainur) top Lieutenant. Whether or not he should be capable of such a thing is debatable. However, a lot of things were changed from the books and this may simply have been added to increase the cinematic experience. From what I remember of the books Gandalf and the Witch King meet in Gondor but leave each other without attack.

  • i must say that's a strange encouragment he's giving 'em... what kind of battle cry is 'DEATH!!!!!!'

  • @niminear1 not everyone is afraid of death (especially if you die trying to save the middle earth)

  • What Skyrim quest is this?
