I'm having difficulty with the sound quality.Ive managed to record but there is some cracking noise, some distorted sound.Any suggestions of how to fix this?Sorry if this is a stupid question.good video by the way, thanks.
I don't understand, where do you actualy plug the Ling In Cable, from the computer to the Kaossilator, because in you video it's not showen clear enougth. I mean I see the two *RED and WHITE* cables connected, but where's actualy the Line In Connected ? Could some body answer Please :).
hey man i have a huge question to ask you... is the LINE cable that you plugged into your computer going to a LINE jack? or a mic jack. im trying to do all this on my laptop and it has 2 headphone jacks, and 1 mic. can you help me out?
@Dworak84 I am an Ableton master with the apc40, I have 17 instruments, this being one of them...and have 4 signed Cds to major labels. I did not know this, and I am no fucking noob you inconsiderate prick. NOBODY LET THIS ASS TAKE YOU DOWN. I will blow anything you write away son.
@Dworak84 I know...messed up, right. All these years I have been using my studio, I am in the process of making, or trying to, make a batch of stem tracks to use in Ableton...not as easy as I thought. I simply do not like recording through air, needs to feed right into the pc to be flawless. And I tried the Virtual dJ thing...to distorted. Plus, I never proclaimed to be a master at this..it's Ableton I have mastered...but my midi ports are used, all of them..so kaoss cant fit :(
@Dworak84 Your doing pretty good yourself there :) I don't wish to argue, never did. I was in a 30 hour run when I posted that ignorant comment. You did not deserve it, and the other people coming here don't need to see it. I apologize for any stress I may have caused you, your talent is great and I do not wish to throw your attention anywhere else. Thank you, if you don't mind I am going to request you as a friend.
@MrBrandonPeoples If it is quality recordings, the program used makes all the difference in the world man...why you tell people that? I have progs ranging from 50-2000 dollars, guess which one works best?
@BrainstrainMusic I think you misread my comment. I wasn't talking about quality though, I was talking about what software it worked with. I said that line in works with all software. I didn't say anything about the quality of recording. Also, the recording quality of a program can only be as good as the hardware you are recording it with. If your using a computers standard line in jack, it's probably not fantastic, sorry for yourconfusion
@MrBrandonPeoples No apologies needed, this is good advice...you guys have reopened my interest of my beloved kaossilator. I made the error, not you..but thank you....it really doesn't take much to confuse me, look at my band name. I am 24/7 trying to extract stem tracks from the kaoss. And one thing you said is true...I used my normal line in jack, not my digital one..that is where my speakers are, very hardcore soundcard :) But rendered uselles when using the normal line in ;) thank you.
Ya, it works with Cubase. Not sure why you'd want to tho. Input through an interface is better - less interferance. ProTools you don't have a choice. By the way, MP3 compresses about 10:1 (if i can remember right). Short answer, better to save to wav file or like. Larger files = better quality. That is if you want better quality sound.
Im using a laptop and dont have a Line In, so Im using a mic port (which I hear works the same). The trouble is my laptop cant seem to recognize it o_O
I'm new to electronic recording because I used microphones to record live sounds and then edit it in GarageBand, so this might be a stupid question, but what cable do you use to go from the Kaossilator to computer? Is it a phono to jack? or a jack to jack cable?
I'm not sure which one would be best to get.
And this might've been answered, but would anyone know how to set it up to be used in GarageBand?
Hi, im trying to connect the kaosillator and record it using the Sound Recorder. Do you just plug it in ( Ive got the cable shown at the start of the video ) , open up sound recorder and click record while the kaosillator is playing. I tried this and it didnt record anything.
fanx electrofluxenhousen :D ama try wot u sed, seemz abit complic8d wiv this wav editor n tht but ill givit a go,im desperate to get my tracks on acidpro! fanx!!
Try record pad from nch software (just google it), it's perfect. Records on input as well so as soon as you hit play it starts recording. There's a free wav editor as well and apps are linked together, once you've recorded into pad you can edit the audio in the wav editor and build up your samples and loops for use in acid pro. ;)
wheres the line in go? i have a windows laptop

In the box you find the Kaossilator itself, a manual (not complete), a reference card for arpeggiator & pattern, 4 batteries.
Thant's all.

Yo nice, but you didn't need software... you could just use Sound Recorder under Start / Accessories / Entertainment...
just tweak a few settings and record!

Hi, im trying to connect the kaosillator and record it using the Sound Recorder. Do you just plug it in ( Ive got the cable shown at the start of the video ) , open up sound recorder and click record while the kaosillator is playing. I tried this and it didnt record anything.
tom7373777 2 years ago
mmkay bro.. so you use a cable to plug ur kaosillator into ur computer's input / mic port.
next you go into sound recorder... then go 2 edit / audio properties.
Then under "sound recording" select your computers soundboard or input that you are using.
Then when ur ready, hit record, rock out, and when youre done, file / save.
Hope this helped! :D
