  • This is so haunting and beautiful lyrically with an exquiste melody. Howard always inspires me and he has a rare gift of being a poet who can express divine truths through his music.

  • 1980s music was and is a benchmark, yes 60 was the advent, 70s was the teenage but 80 was when music was in its prime,

  • This is not of any time, it is for all time. God bless you, Howard.

  • It's not a question of 80's rule. It's a question of an amazing music and lyrics just found today by me.Archetypical, immemorial...

  • at 2;18 he could be a young gorden ramsey ... lol.... hope you find it :)

  • Wow! This song & sound takes my breath away. The 80s had such great artists, composer and acts! Like this one. Amazing!

  • Wow ! thanks for posting this,never seen thisb4

  • Thanks for posting this. I only ever saw it once, back in the day. Glad to have seen it again. (Shame he didn't make a video for the 12" version....)

  • Just one word........ Awesome. In its day and still to this day.

  • @superwhites06

I agree! I remember 22 or so years ago driving alone at night - fast - on a long and deserted highway on my way to see my boyfriend. This was playing on the car radio and there was a full moon. It crystallized into one of those signal images in life.

  • I dont think the music has dated much I think it is still great

  • loved this song in 80's and still love it now, brilliant his best song

  • Wow! I liked this song back in the day. but honestly it has not stood the test of time, sorry! Awful vocals and just drab in general! Gutted as I loved it in the early 80s.....time can be cruel.......but at least I enjoyed it when it was relevant I guess?

  • @Norfolkinidea time hasnt been cruel..... music is inside you ...it doesnt become crap one day.. it relates to a time and space you occupied at the time... good or bad . if you liked it then theres no reason not to like it now. music has moved on beyond what anyone could comprehend back then.... in its day it was great to listen to.... today its just as great.... its 2011... that tune was nearly 30 years ago :) yep we are old lol

  • @coolmistik

30 years? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (ok, honestly closer to 25 but still!) Still love this beautiful piece of music.

  • Terrible video, hilarious hair.........but if the final note of this great song doesn't make the hairs on your neck stand on end then you havn't got a pulse!

  • dont like 2 swear but his is the bollocks ,,,,,

  • @david130469 I don't like swearing either but it is fucking good!

  • How many keyboards does this guy need??

  • JANOSIK???

  • So fine, so good, so ...

  • the intro STILL gives me goose pimples all these years later!!!!!!!! What music can do to the way we feel.......H.J. you're a Legend!!

  • great song, great video!

  • The director made him pretend to play the flute..and then as if that weren't cheesey enough immediately cut to a scene of him playing the same part on the keyboard. :D

I guess it was less embarassing in the 80's.

  • @kingexlax yep thats the 80s horrible videos but good tunes also the sideshow bob hair that howard has does look a tad dated in 2011, but you know i reckon people looked back at photos of 1884 when it was 1911 and laughed at how old fashioned they were but now they are all gone anyway. thats my 2 cents for today.

  • sah ihn live in hanover das war der oberhammer

  • One of my first gilrfriends remember ...

  • i wish he did that video in HD

  • was just a kid when i had this on humans lib album on cassette - it stirred my emotions back then but was too young to really get it - for all its simplicity still one of the most moving tracks i have ever had the privelege to own- thanks hj, "wipes tears from eyes"!!

  • his best song ever

  • best howard jones song..............one of the best songs ever full stop.

Todays music is such a pain in the ass.

  • CPH394 FUCK OFF KNOB

  • great song gets better every time i hear it a true musical genius

  • The melody of this song made me think of Alan Parsons Project - Old and Wise

  • when this first came out, i thought, oh god man what have you done, but it grew on me quickly, and it became one of my top ten synth tracks!

  • this song is so deep and meaningfull love it thx for sharing it

  • '94 child, this is the best music. <3

  • howard jones a legend.

  • Go on u leg cheers for ur advice

  • Fantastic song, Howard;s best I think

  • defo one of.

  • Lovely and relaxing. Out of this world.

  • I am.

    You're right.

  • 80s child is full of grace 90s child is full of face 00s child is lost in taste

  • @choicesman2000 yes i agree but i was a 60`s child and love the 70`s so im not sure what class you would put me in??!! a good one i hope?not a big 60`s fan, like 8o`s but after that music takes a turn for the worst ,the odd song pops up ,what do you think?

  • @tahliabell the music died for me latter end of the 80s... the odd 90s track and a brief revival to decent music with britpop then it hit the bottom of the barrel.... has never recovered and in fact going below the barrel now...

  • The 37 who clicked on "I don't like it" are Tokio Hotel's fans.

  • looks like a gay gordon ramsey.

  • I remember when this album was released. I had it on repeat for weeks on end hehe. Love this song sooo much. =)

  • Wow! thanks for posting! 'Really beautiful'

  • Thank you so much for posting this video :) what a beautiful song. I am going to see Howard at the Indig0 in London on the 6th Nov. He is performing his first two albums in their entirety, backed by specially commissioned video films. It promises to be an awesome, memorable evening!

  • Avery much loved all time classic. One of the best songs ever.

  • Ah, love that song! Takes me back... :)

  • at the top of his game, indeedy

  • The best synth strings i've ever heard and one of the best songs ever wrote :) I would mud wrestle my own granny to have done this :)

  • I'm going to see him Oct 12th in Toronto!!!

  • This is my favourite song from Howard Jones

  • 2:22 looks like a cross between david beckham and gorden ramsey :)

  • Great video clip and song, I went to see Howard live at Melbourne, Australia in 1985. He was brilliant then and still is now. Thank you so much for putting this up. I have used my son's log on so I hope he doesn't mind me using it to write comments. I just had to. :-)

  • Do you think howard comes on here ands reads comments?

if you do remember me howard ath the king hall in belfast?

    maybe not lol

  • wonderful

  • wonerful

  • Perfecto!!!

  • I remember waiting for the charts to see if this hit the top. It didn't, and then Annie Nightingale brought a new range of music to me tender ears. Still have a soft spot for this HJ song though.

  • This is one of the best songs hes ever made very talented man xxxxxxxxxxx

  • Comment removed

  • many thanks

  • Love this man!

  • This song was superb. I never appreciated HJ in the 80s, but man the guy can sing and perform. Respect to the the man.

  • I loved this... a couple more faves are What is Love, The Prisoner, and Everlasting Love. There's nothing like this out there any more, sadly.

  • GREAT SONG

  • Always thought this was the hidden gem in Howard Jones catalog. Aptly, the song title is a case where art imitates life.

  • "Hope you find me in you" say's it all. I love this song, wonderfully produced, performed and written.

  • This was the song which attracted me to Howard Jones, but most of his other songs were disappointing. I was very surprised to find that Mick Karn (my fav, from my fav band Japan!!) played bass in his Prince''s Trust appearance!

  • I hope I am able to unlock the mystery of life as well howard.

  • the best Song from Howard!!!

    1000 *****

  • just pure class

  • It reminds me of Miami Vice ;)

  • one of my favs in 80's .oh yeah.

  • Remember this song very well. It was one of my favourites in the 80´s, and, in a way, it still is.

I never understood why I was one of the very few that rembers this song so well.

    And loves it so much.

  • @Gytsjerk1967 your not the only one, I love this song so much and it brings back so many good memories. I used to sing along to it

  • wunderbar......

  • Probally the best song HJ ever made...

  • It makes me nostalgic.
