There's also the age gap and time difference. For anyone who saw it first when it aired, it was witty for its time. Now, not so much which essentially means it is no longer as funny to the current generation.

30 rocks came out about the same time Aaron Sorkin did his supposedly "next big thing" comedy, and the dealt with the same subject. Now 30 rocks still rocks, and Sorkin's pet project is nowhere to be seen. Different fates of these two shows probably had something to do with how the creators treated the "comedy vs politics" subject, make no mistake, I'm as liberal as one can get. But political cliches from people like Aaron Sorkin, Bill Maher, even John Stewart are just annoying, probably as
