  • so, all of the goodness in the emporer, and he's still a complete dick, even more so than his "evil" side. I think its safe to say, you see this guy? Spam the shit out of ultima on his ass. still, isn't it kinda sad, that his "better" self is worse than the king of hell?

  • When I was playing FFIV for the first time, I was like....oh no, why do these awesome characters have to die?? Why is the tragedy of FFII repeating?!....It was then that I found Yang sleeping at the Sylph's cave, Cid snoring in the Dwarf's castle, Porom and Palom being recovered by the elder.....Darned, they spoiled the mood!

  • OH!

Destroying the Emperor's dark half would be meaningless i his light half remained! There can be no light without darkness, so the dark half would be revived!

THAT'S why the Light Emperor tried to make peace with them: So they wouldn't destroy him completely!!

  • One video has bad music and this is poor quality. phaaaq

  • @EricB042389 Obviously you don't like VGM.

  • <<skipping spoilers

  • i gotta play this game again!!!!

  • ff2 and ff4 are connected!!!!!!!!!if not give me proof!!!

  • in the dialogue you can see that kain said that he wanted to be a dragoon,in ff4 theres a dragoon named kain too...and besides, that kain stated that his father dies fighting an empire(though he doesnt say the name of such empire)

this means indirectly that kain's father was in ff2

    yeah!!!!

  • @ChrisTheBest1992 thats what i thought too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nomura must give us answers!!!!!!ima play ff2 again :D

  • @stickman9100 same thing with laguna and squall,in ff8 there are some things that can detect persons according their DNA,but, when they got squall, instead of saying SQUALL,those thing said LAGUNA....quite strange, that means that laguna and squall share smae DNA,i mean, familiar roots?

    LOL...again xDDD

  • cuz my boss is not the same xD

  • @joceswalkthrough I guess you're not at the end of SoR.

  • is soul of rebirth can be in 20th anniversary version of final 2 in psp

  • @joceswalkthrough This is the Anniversary Edition of FFII.

  • WOW, i say, please, get a video out cable please!

  • @williamkendrick How about you watch my other FFII (PSP) videos?

  • nice man ty for uploading this

btw graphics is nice and colourfull as it should be and game looks great too

im currenly playing FF 1 but when ill have money ill buy this one :P

  • Final Fantasy 2! Kick Satan's ass! Then kick God's ass!

  • Im curious, Why get the gba version when you can get the psp version?

  • @fallenxlionheart Because it's not everyone that owns a PSP, but many of us still have our old DS's and GBA-SP's

  • @calendrier22 ahh yeah. Didn't think about that.

  • @xSouthSide13 Not sure if I have this save anymore.

  • This battle was just epic from the sequence of the Dark Emperor battle started.Square Enix did an awesome job with those remakes. :P

  • Does anyone else think that PSP Josef = Jesse Ventura?

  • The Emperor is such an asshole that even his (supposedly) good half is evil. At first he seems genuine enough in apologizing for his wicked behavior and asking for forgiveness, but the instant they refuse, on grounds of his repentance being an illusion, he goes back to his old evil, wicked self again.

  • The Emeperor: Do you not desire eternal life?

    Scott: I am already dead.

    wisest answer ever.

  • @Fikezof Yes,yes it is

  • It's been a while since I've played this, but am I missing something? The dialogue basically boiled down to this:

    Emperor: Please forgive me! D:

Everyone: No, don't forgive him. KICK HIS ASS!

    Emperor: DIE!!!

    Rather counterintuitive IMO.

  • 'Begging' from his throne. With seemingly half-hearted apologies. He wasn't seeking forgiveness. I get the impression that if they had, the Emperor would have funneled strength to his dark half.

  • I think this game rocks all worlds, I got it for my PSP too, but mystic quest dominated everything... my first ever RPG, I played it when I was 8 years old, haha... I remember I couldn't even get past the first boss, but it was SUCH a great game :D

  • Firion: "That was a good fight!"

  • ...Go tell that to Square Enix.

  • I like FF I best, followed by FF3, FF4, FF6, FF5, FF2, just because FF 2 wasnt that good, but it still dominated over mystic quest.

  • Hmmm... FF4 and 5 has one conection, Gilgamesh said Bartz? in FF4. I remember i once deleted my main file to play soul of rebirth... God that was very sad xD

  • the light emporer was hard. FF2 i think is the hardest when it comes to battles

  • @MrAndres19 naw now the hardest is 13. i mean christ those last 2 chapters. im still amazed that i even beat the dame thing without help. christ orphan is easily the hardest final boss i the game(1st form. othe rform is suppossed to eb a interactive cinimatic like X and VII's final boss's)

  • I wonder how Hilda, Elina, Kain, Nelly and Gordon communicated with them?

  • PLOTHOLE!!!!

  • SoR in PSP? Unbelievable!

  • so they couldnt forgive him why?

  • because he was tricking them. ergo, he was probably going to transport them to pandemonium, not grant them eternal life.

  • Though the Light Emperor still seemed repentant even after the Hilda, Elina, Kain, Nelly and Gordon were talking to Minwu, Ricard, Scott and Josef. He actually was begging for forgiveness. He only became hostile after they resolved that they would fight rather than forgive. And the Light Emperor was right about one thing; war and fighting will continue. It is a constant. So I wouldn't say he was evil... just furious that they wouldn't take his apology seriously.

  • i dont get it...what happened to firion, maria, bla, bla?? and why the emperor changed from that creepy demon like thing to another creepy angel like thing??

  • This is SoR, not from the main game.

  • I guess firion and the rest of them went back home at the end. But what happened is, you killed the emperor as a human and he died, but he was split between a dark half and a light half, but both parts are actually bad. Firion and his group defeated the dark emperor and Minwu and his group defeated the light emperor.

  • @Senfiores Emperor Mateus split in two when killed. One half turned into a demon and the other one into an angel. Both are equally strong and the one you kill with Firion, Maria and the rest is the demon. The angel is an extra added to the gba, psp, ipod versions. It is fought by the other characters in heaven at the same time Firion kills the other ne at Pandemonium (hell).

  • @Senfiores 0:25-1:00 um does THAT explain it?. in the main game you fight the dark half and in SoR as they fight the dark half the fallen Heroes (Scott Minwu Ricard and Josef) fight the Light half. the light half is a bit tougher than the dark half so make sure you really prepare before this battle.

  • I love how he reveals his true colors as the same old Emperor right when they don't forgive him.

    *Flare*

    Run amok!

  • @OgnarPliskin Yup. Like I said before, the Emperor is so evil that even his good half is a sadistic asshole.

  • It isn't.

  • what are you talking about? yes it is. he even said "I'M GOING TO BECOME TO BEST DRAGOON EVER!" and note that kain in FFIV said that his father died fighting an "evil empire" that's clearly a reference to FFII

  • In Final Fantasy IV Cain said to Cecil "I'm always wish to be a Dark Kinght"

And the real sequel is only Final Fantasy X-2. Even if there is a "chain" from FFII and FFIV those two game are disconnected temporailly

  • the stories aren't connected, but the characters are references to one another. and i'll bet that's a mistranslation. look at that horrible spelling and grammar!

  • I'm Italian U.U

  • good for you

  • Throughout the FF series, they make references to one another. Hell in 9, they even go as far as to retell the story of how Josef had died and how no one had told his daughter.

I think 5 a form of a sequel of 1, but it'd be along the lines of the Phantasy Star series, taking place in the far future when no one cares

  • i moreover though 3 as a sequel to 1... and the onion knights as the children of the original warriors of light.

  • It's been officially stated that none of the main numbered Final Fantasy games are interconnected with each other. Kain didn't even have a name in the original version of this game, it was only added to the remake for the sake of reference. A lot of games actually reference this one just for the hell of it, like FFVI, where the password for the Returners cell in Vector was originally "Wild Rose".

  • exactly; a lot of the games made references to II. that's all i'm really trying to say

  • And 4 as a sequel to 2. I mean, the proof is in the video.

"Kain: I'm gonna be a dragoon!'

  • hmm, i was thinking that earlier but i googled it and there is no proof

but i bet it is xD

  • it was kinda proven when they said firions name in a line of dialouge in 4. and that theres a place in it called misidia. and that kain said ricard is his father and he died fighting a evil empire.all of this proves that 2 and 4 aare the only games in the serise to be related

  • @jsh020 totally

  • Probably. But in FFIV Cain said that he wanted to be a DARK Warrior ^-^

  • I do not remember that. And it's spelled Kain

  • @Strongbad717 ''Kain'' in FF2 is only included in the remakes of FF2. The originl version had no ''kain'' the kid was nameless.

  • @NeoArashi thats not true i have the origenal version maybe becease you stupid americains didnt give him a name

  • @foxhoundmember9999 You're an idiot. The kid was not named Kain in the Japanese Famicom version. That was an addition for Dawn of Souls.

  • basically, after you beat the game, you end up playing as minwu, and he finds scott, josef, and ricard. you get to play as all 4 of them. the system is, you go through jade passage with those 4, with the passage just being a mirrored version of the original. then you get to a mirrored version of poft, then a much cooler looking, mirrored version of pandaemonium. it's all pretty much a mirrored version of the journey through hell.

  • There is this version in ItA?

  • Hey excuse the nooby question but...im a lil lost. First you were talking to Kain (Wasn't he in FFI?) then you were fighting as Firion, Maria, Guy and Leon. Then you fought with these different persons. What's this?

  • Final Fantasy II Soul of Rebirth. You can paly it completing the principal story

  • SOR- soul of rebirth where u play with all the dead characters. the object of this is..... beat ultima weapon. get ultima teach minwu ultimate make sure all art y members are 30+ kill the emperorwith

    25k hp... kinda sucks lol

  • The music is what mostly kept the company alive.

  • the emperor is simply SICK.

i mean, "If you will not have eternal life, i shall give you eternal suffering!"

if that's not sick or insane or whatever, then what is it?

  • it's sadism. wishing pain on others or laughing at others pain. almost all game bosses are sadists, with the notable exception of a few who say they don't want to hurt you kind of thing.

  • that's strange, isn't it? because if he was a sadist, I'd say he would immidietaly start with his sadism and all, but not make the offer for eternal life =/

  • The Pandemonium (or something like that) music sounds like Lord of the Rings.

  • Can you download this game on PSP.If you can, can you tell me on what wepsite I can get this game. Thanks =)

  • IsoHunt, you need to have CFW on your PSP to make it work, like all the other downloaded games...

  • you just buy the game i have it. its a umd i have final fantasy one and final fantasy two

  • I have a PSP, and about $140. Should I get this and the FFI 20th anniversary? Are they worth it?

  • yes it worth it i brought a copy of it and not put it down since ?

  • Dude, you can get them, now, for real cheap! What are you waiting for?

  • yeah they are:D!!!!

  • Everything plays out so quickly, yet so stunningly. Shame about the slight lags, though (perhaps the newer PSPs can load it faster?).

Gah, I need to get the other handheld *doesn't count iPhone; poo on it, I say!*

  • It's because I just load the game and didn't enter a fight before that.

  • I knew kain would be there and say he's gonna be a dragoon! IT'S SO FAMILAR!!!!!

  • actually, unltima is stronger in this version...

  • Wow... Ultima looks sexy. I love the new graphics for the battle scene. The death of Matias Palamecia looks sweet.

  • S.O.R was fun

  • and hard >_>

  • lol, yeah

  • wait cant you play SoR on the gameboy advance version if you beat both 1 and 2?

  • You can play it after you beat FFII.

  • i only thought it was hard the frist time...

    mainly because i unequipped everyone...

    second time,

    i gave Ricard a Masmune

    to give to Scott...

    made things a lot easier...

  • have a emulator on your psp

  • Got some emulators.

  • Kain: "I'm going to become a Dragoon!"

  • Never happens, it would be for DS.

  • wouldn't the next FF game for PSP be FFVII?

because at the end of Crisis Core it says 'To Be Continued...'

and it is a joint story so it would anyway.

and which other FF's are coming to the PSP?

  • I hope so.

Dissidia: FF and FF Agito XIII.

  • if i remember correctly, square enix said that they werent going to remake ff7, although it was a really dumbass decision of them. they did, however, release pictures of what it would look like if they did remake it, and it looked pretty badass.

this boss was pretty easy to kill compared to the others. on my GBA, i woned him with lvl 5 ultima and lvl >4 of any other buff spell...nemesis prolly didnt spend as much time on his characters wep skills and proly focused on spells.

  • Fanboy.

  • A Game doesn't need overrated graphics to be good.

  • I know what you mean I mean the original FF for NES is awesome even for a NES game

  • but they are nice additions. I can see much potential in a FFVII remake (even though it would be more milking...I want milk!) beyond just graphics but I can settle for the original. It is very awesome either way

  • There's no such thing as Milking, especially when the games produced by Square are all (with the exception of X-2 depending on one's views) are all intensively great.

'sides, Games of all shapes and file-sizes are made, first and foremost, to make money.

  • @MegidramonX FFX-2 was bad becouse the original intention was to make a game specificly for girls. the sequal to 2 was good but extremly underrated and XIII-2 from the details they released sounds fucking amazing. i mean as X-2 got extremly light hearted XIII is gonna o from a already downer game to what the creator said will be the darkest in the serise. which i wonde rhow you top this, 2 just was a downer with no signs of hope

  • Yeah it says to be continued in FF VII basically saying if you havent already got FF VII buy it now

  • oh, I thought it was a reference to Genesis in a future game because he is revived in the secret ending for Dirge of Cerberus.

Anyways, SE said they are done with FF7 for the next few years

  • Is the cutscene where the main heroes are battling the dark emperor always the same, or is it based on what happened in the actual fight against him?

  • It's random, but they have the same stats.

  • i completed this game but got pised for saving the soul rebirth on my original file! now i cant play the people on earth, only the ones in heaven... sigh!

  • Oh, that sucks!

  • Wow..nice job

i have the GBA version and i can barely get past the beginning of SoR cuz my characters r too weak...

also, am i the only one who noticed a FFIV reference?

cuz Kain ( the kid ) said he's gonna be a Dragoon

and in FFIV, there is a Dragoon named Kain

    anybody else notice that?

  • I have noticed a long time ago...

  • Yeah--they even have the same last name of Highwind.

  • In one version of FFIV (DS, I think) Kain mentions his dad was killed fighting an evil Empire, as well.

  • I KNEW IT :D

  • IT almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • The music fit SO well and was SO good that it really did make me cry.

  • dude... your right!

I guess that was before Square decided that no FF game should be connected.

    (besides FFVll spinoffs and FFX-2)

  • I wonder which half is more powerfull, light or dark? (I would be surprised if it was light)

  • I beat this boss back on the GBA before this version even came out. I was really frickin' weak, too. I wish I could fight him again, but I have no PSP and the save battery in my FFI&II:DoS cartridge died.

If they would revamp FFII's gameplay and leave the story untouched, I'd buy it on (almost) any system. I would prefer a DS remake for revamping abilities, et cetera. I can't stand the gameplay, so I can't really enjoy the story. They revamped FFIV's gameplay; why not redo FFII's gamplay?

  • Well...the light half was pretty pissed off at this point. I mean, despite being a superior being, he was humbling himself by asking for their forgiveness.

Keep in mind that to HIM, the humans were horribly flawed creatures who could never solve anything without violence. Yet, he was generous and offered them another chance.

And yet, they STILL would not forgive him. They have very gravely defied him.

And what do Gods do with creations that upset them? They punish them of course!!

  • Still can't help but feel bad for the light half though, i suppose. Still, gotta do what ya gotta do i guess.

  • Minwu and the gang realized that if they DID accept that offer...than everyone they knew would die, because the dark half would be unbeatable.

That's why they declined. The Emperor wasn't trying to mislead or trick them in any way, but Minwu and Co. would have committed an unforgivable sin by sacrificing they're loved ones just so they could live in paradise.

Cuz after all, they needed to K.O. BOTH halves for the Emperors dark half to truly die (thus saving the world).

  • You'd think if the Light Emperor wanted to atone for his crimes, he would fight the Dark Emperor and sacrifice himself. This would be fitting because the people that he begged forgiveness from also sacrificed themselves for the greater good.

  • Hm...HOLD ON A SECOND, I GOT IT! Thanks to Feja, I have come up with an answer.

What Minwu and the gang were trying to accomplish was killing the Emperor (since they thought they were in Pandemonium).

About the Emperor...he really was a good guy (or at least not evil). I think he was sincere in his offer and really did want forgiveness. He really would have given them life, and that would've been good EXCEPT...

  • This part of the game has always puzzled be aswell, but as you can see in the cut scene that is shown before the battle begins, the main heroes of the game are fighting the evil half of the emperor in hell. I think it was put in to imply that the only way that the emperor could truely be destroyed is by destroying him as a whole, so the emperor in hell would not die if his other half was not destroyed along with him in heaven. I quess we will never know. MasterFeja out.

  • And on that matter, what exactly were Minwu and the gang trying to accomplish by climbing the tower? They mentioned "not giving up", but did they even have a specific goal in mind?

  • I'm still wondering, what exactly happened with that conversation? I don't get the concept behind it at all...

Why was the supposed light half hostile? What exactly were the four doing wrong by almost accepting the dudes offer? What exactly was the light halfs "evil plan"? I don't get it.

  • Great video, man. 5☆'s

I only recently started SoR, but I got slaughtered in the first couple of rooms because I took all of Minwu's stuff before he left my party in the main story. But then Ricard saved my life because I turned him into superman before he died. But everyone else needs work...

  • Well, the official Nintendo strategy guide says that the emperor sometimes dresses up as a woman, but i dunno if that stuff is believable or not.

But yeah, that would be funny.

  • LOL, does everyones light side look like a chick?

What if the Emperor was a girl!? Hahaha! Would the light side look manly?!

  • So basically after defeating Satan (Dark Emperor) you after defeat god (Arubboth Emperor) except he is not god and you are more like in Purgatory rather than in heaven. So he is more like another Satan.

  • the emperor have boobs... it means "Dual Sexual"

  • AGREEEEED!!!!!!!!I've always said the same, especially cuz I'm catholic I know this is 1 hell of a quote, I clapped when he said it.

  • i think that light emperor is female

  • It can't be a female, then he would be called empress.

  • I've always said that, ALWAYS, but there's always a fool who says EMPEROR is female, when they so ignorant they don't even know EMPRESS is female, god, these r trully ignorants!! U got my point man, awesome vid and 5 stars!

  • Yeah, stupid people.

    Thanks man

  • No, thank u, u have some awesome vids and have a normal mind unlike others who confuse genders, porbably their own genders more than anything else then, hehe.

  • Yeah, confusing their own gender xD

  • I bet this happens alot with these idiots!!

  • There are too many idiots in YT, I get mad everyday when I'm here because of them.

  • (2 ppl who get mad cuz of idiots in utube and counting......)Oh yeah well actually same 4 me!

  • Yeah and I got 329 videos, so there are so many stupid people commenting on them...

  • Damn, I got 2 and just delete everything some idiot says!

  • Yeah it sucks...

  • really sux.

  • i used too have the final fantasy VII i think which was with Cloud Barret Tiffa This game Rly its very Wonderfull

  • Wonder if Wii messed up the FF games...wonder what happens...

  • Final Fantasy VI would be amazing if they remade it like this!!!

  • one of my fav. final fantasys.. make fun of me all you want!

  • Why would I made fun of you?

    I love this game.

  • cuz this game is supposedly considered the "black sheep" of the series and ppl like to bash any FFgame that isnt I,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII, and X ^^

  • Lol =P

  • Agreed, but 4 me, 6,5 and anything after 8 r the clack sheeps, I really dislike them, FF2 is probably my favorite FF, as well as 1. 4 is also pretty good, 7 was revolutionary in it's sense so it's also good. But this 1 takes the prize 4 me.

  • I absolutely cannot handle Soul of Rebirth... I keep dying in the very first two rooms...

  • Happened 2 me 2, I had to pray 2 win the battles, when I did, WOW lvl up like hell, and then the game gets easy enough, although Ultima Boss is HARD AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now that i completed SoR i can finally watch this.

    Infinity/5

My Ultima Does 5500 Damage, 9999 Sometimes :D. My party is 10 Times weaker than yours but managed to beat him

  • Thanks =)

Well, I was a lot weaker when I first time beated him.
