not playing straight up with a plastic. i said point it. thats throwing it more TOWARDS the pocket. of course the plastic wont come back when the reactive wont.
@spazmatron1 Honestly I think a really good look would've been Belmonte playing straight up the boards with a Natural. Because he didn't hit the pocket flush once until the 9th frame. Or play way left with a Fast or something. Who knows why they do what they do though somethines, I guess thats why they're the pro's and were not lol.
Street Rod Pearl with the "Boomer" layout. Pin is 2 inches underneath the thumb and the cg in the center of grip. makes the ball a bit smoother off the spot
@itellithowitis300 Funny you wrote a comment at this time. I was just explaining to a team mate what caused a flat ten yesterday. I actually made a diagram of what happens to the pins when the ball hits soft for whatever reason. The shot I'm referring to was when the 6 pin didn't even reach the ten pin I think Belmo's a great guy and throws a powerful ball. But that shot hit like a wet sponge. I was just surprised to see that he's human like the rest of us.
i think belmo should have either played the outside line with his spare ball and a ton of hand or should have stayed with his inside line and moved farther left
the reactive ball was really jumpy. he could have pointed it with the plastic and since he has such a high rev rate it would finish just enough to hopefully carry. he was trying to play straight up with the reactive
a lot of people say you have better odds of picking it up by throwing at the 7-pin. or maybe he just decided to that was the easier one to go for, or something...
Can't get enough of the line that strike had at 2:55

I freaking love when belmo calls his strikes when his ball gets to the arrows. He is my hero.

@phredl if the ball hits and deflects due to shallow entry angle the six goes around the ten, damn fast, but still goes around it

or loft the guttercap playing inside

really? well most pros I see throw at the 10 (or 7 for lefties). I guess it doesn't really matter since it's pretty much impossible anyway.

im a righty and i always go for 7pin on 7- 10

Devaney's the first (right-handed) guy I've ever seen who goes for the 7 on a 7-10 split.

Ken Simard did it in his match against Chris Barnes in the Don Johnson Buckeye State Classic 2 seasons ago.
