Even more improtant is the fact that big oil companys are still lobbying to keep the R/D of alternate fuels and sources so costly that everyday ppl will still need to buy theyr product also these same companys are buying up the rights to all and any other forms of fuel and simply " locking up" the tech forcing us to use oil.Hydrogen tech has been around sence befor ww2.
first of all, they really are not that loud. maybe this guys are.. however look up arcimotor. second, what is wrong with the little cars.. do you really need to take up the entire lane of traffic to get yourself to work? Mabe if you carpool. However, i doubt it.
I don't know if I'd like to be in something that's screaming like it's going 120mph, when it's only doing 30mph. Also, I bet his ears are ringing like crazy after every ride.
haha you couldnt be more wrong. The current oil prices are due to lack of driving. no one drives then where do they make money.2nd Oil can and will be depleted less then 100 years.
In this current iteration it may be a death trap but I think it's size is going in a better direction than current automobiles. Current proportions and arrangement of a car is due to it's technology (the hood for instance), not having to worry about an internal combustion engine, the can very well forget about the large front. If we keep our minds set on what a car "should" look like, we will never move forward.

I'd rather wait and go to war over the last remaining oil supplies. It's the best way I can think of to keep the elite elite as long as is humanly possible. I'd fall on a grenade if that's what it took to keep George Bush's pool supplied with chlorine.

How in the world could that annoy? IT SOUNDS LIKE A FREKIN SPACE SHPIP!
Can't go wrong with the sound of a space spip...
But if they put a gasoline engine in it I would have bought one and it would still save the environment considerabely compaired to driving my 1,2tonn saloon.
I love it

Lovely, a tiny plastic deathtrap.
It's Noddy cars like this that hold back general acceptance of EVs.
Slapping electric motors in tiny cars is NOT progress.
We need real Ecars that can compete with real gas cars, while GMFordHondaToyotaChryslerMazda just pick their noses and make empty promises.
So sorry to be pessimistic, I'm just impatient waiting for an EV I can drive to work in.

Oil companies are finding huge new oil fields all the time. It'll take at least 250-400+ to exhaust Earth's supply.
BTW, current oil prices are due to market speculation and America's "weak dollar" policy.
Basically the FED is printing excessive amounts of dollars to pay for things like the Iraq war, so they don't have to raise taxes.
The draw back of this is that there are now more dollars chasing after the same amount of goods in the market place which then causes price inflation.
