  • Hello everyone I would have found a led (I still have to buy it) but 'the clerk told me he does not like the light of the video what do I do?

  • what pen are you using? please contact me at sambenitez57@yahoo.co.uk or here on youtube, thank you for this amazing video!

  • I think you're smarter for calling it "lead" it's dumb and inefficient to say eleedee

    good tute dude

  • the led must be infrared or normal

  • O Jesus, son of Mary! Is thy Lord able to send down for us a table spread with food from heaven

  • 1) Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoker

  • @myah1109 That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

  • ia331411.us.archive.org/3/items/TvQuran.com__1/TvQuran.com__020.mp3

  • I love pink pudding :D

  • vote for pedro!

  • and why is this useful i mean where can u use a pen like this?

  • @etaxalo ummm read the title? Its for the wiimote programe.

  • @etaxalo for the low cost interactive whiteboard, its really cool for its price of about $70!

  • where i can get I.R led ??

  • so wats the use?

  • @francisroan to make a wii mote a multi touch thingy

  • @francisroan #1 line-of-sight security, #2 weapons targeting, #3 remote control for the wii?

  • VOTE FOR PEDRO...VOTE FOR PEDROOO.

"This is all I have to say."

    Thank you!

  • its not led dumbass its L E D

  • @jinevil22 duh, was "dumbass" really necessary? Like nobody understands when he says led not L.E.D.

  • @jinevil22 I've been in electronics for almost 30 years, and both pronunciations are acceptable. In fact, when LEDs became more mainstream, they were often referred to as leds (not as an acronym) by even the manufactures.

Its really rude to call someone a dumbass when they weren't being dumb at all - in fact they were being quite correct.

  • where did you buy that led pen?

  • Super conveniente, esas lapiceras son re baratas, y hasta tengo una para armar ya mismo :)

  • thanx

  • what does InfraRed light does?

  • @qAyyUm Infrared led produces an invisible beam, straight like a laser. This is useful for invisible security detection, unlike lasers you cannot see it working. Note that it can damage your eyes because unlike a typical laser your eyes cannot see infrared and will not blink or look away. The highest powered solid state lasers use infrared beams that can cut metal and melt materials.

  • @qAyyUm RE: What does InfraRed Light does? These pens can be used with Smoothboard software to create an electronic whiteboard. Search for WBSW here on You tube to see an IR pen is the thick of the action: TEACHING ALGEBRA.

  • what music is this?

  • OR....JUST BUY ONE.!!! WAY EASIER.

  • @joelschram23 I agree, because I sell them.

  • Thanx man .... it helped me

  • cool i made it for my self and it realy works

  • toz

  • can i use a lazer pen and replace the lazer to an led light

  • @tangkag879 the IR LED used in the Wiimote Whiteboard emits infrared which is not visible. The Wiimote will not be able to detect the light emitted from the laser pen.

  • it's l.e.d not lead

  • sorry that will ot work, cause the IR must on the tip dor the IR Camera detect it!

  • vav im boring me

  • Damn it!!! when you pointed that damn thing at the camera I felt my left eye begin to bleed and now I am seeing flashes and blinking lights all over my room. Is this normal>>>>??? Other than partial blindness, great video. Love the snoopy and Charlie brown music

  • i don't think the camera's gonna catch the light from that "lead"

  • this not going to work with wiimote. IR LED must be outside, not inside. Best is to target IR LED to wiimote.

  • @ghzcool0 All of my pens are built with the LED at about a 90 angle to the pen so that it is easy to write and aim the pen. Pens with the LED pointing strait out of the tip can work, especially against a bright white background, such as a standard classroom white board, but you do lose a lot of your intensity, and reliability this way. You can buy my pens on Ebay. I'm user: shakespeare1212. My customers are very happy: 100% positive feedback.

  • i think he took infra red PEN too seriously...

  • holy shit, pedro's on youtube!

  • no need to by ir LED ,shek if u have an old remote controle and use it's LED

  • Now not only is the light weak.....is u just pushed it to far down to even have the remote pick up the signal....So while you took the time to help people you really u just screwed them...maybe if you just leave the light out of the cap and use it like that.....

  • Where did you buy the light pen????

  • Grrrr i hate you saying lead. not L.E.D grrr it annoys me xD

  • Lol it's hard when the first time you read about it, they say LED thus making you pronounced it "lead". I know I still do xD.

  • @Fernandopokemon5000

yeah true i guess... i always knew L.E.D because thats how i heard it

  • the beam looks weak...maybe you should combine those with joule thief to make your IR led beam more brighter thus creating clearer reflection at the surface.....search joule thief on youtbe

  • hey, i´m from germany. where can i get that led-pen? and the IR LED?

  • go to a conrad-market

  • @pspjunkie777 Ebay, just search for IR pen. I will ship one to you: Ebay user: shakespeare1212

  • Could I take the IR LED out of a remote control for a TV and use a copper wire connecting LED and battery negative together and LED and battery positive together? I could then just touch one of the wires to the battery with everything else hooked up and it would turn on. Would that work?

  • well first the copperwire would have to be insulated if the power wire and the neutral wires are touching this will not work

also you could use the led from your tv remote but you would find that its not to powerful and not always be reconized by the censore

i would just buy a new IR LED

  • @williamQ190 The L.E.D. used by Johny Chung Le is perfectly bright, and has a wide viewing angle. I sell them for 99 cents from some shipping and handling if you want to build your own project, OR you can buy a complete pen for as little as $7.23 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

  • you say that because you are an ignorant and dont know what is it for...

  • great how to thank you very much. I will bo doing this after I get some more IR LED's ( burnt the last ones out)

  • Definitely off subject...but whats the name of the background music? I'm kinda diggin' it.

  • why do we say pots when refering to Potentiometers?... anybody?

  • @slumpuppy For the same reason that we say L.E.D.s when we are referring to Light Emiting Diodes. It's just easier.

  • infraredpens

    .

    com

  • Sorry. I guess I didn't watch it before i said that.

  • EASIER!

Get a cheap LED keychain, replace LED w/ infrared.

    Done...

    ...

    TaDa!

  • Thanks fez! Great Video

  • Hi, I was wondering what type of pen did you use, I have been looking around for one but all I have found are pen with LED attached to it versus a one where it is easily replaceable.

    Can any one help

  • $2 dollar shops and stuff sell them, all those cheapy asian stores are guaranteed to have something like that

  • It's sounds like he's a hispanic speaker, so that would make sense. We tend to say "LEDS" instead of L.E.Ds mainly 'cause if you go to radioshack overhere and say "Hello do you have some L E Ds? they'll stare you to death with a question mark on their faces. Sad, but true... i just call them Infrared emitter Diods

  • why do u say lead, when its L.E.D

  • NIce work ! like the music.. groovy

  • hahaha i like it that wonderfull. great work

  • taxs dood

    ffsdfsadf

  • sounds like fez in that's 70 show

  • @opjonas23 That was exactly my first thought :)

  • @opjonas23 your right it does

  • @opjonas23 wat if it was?OO

  • @opjonas23 I SEAD GOOD DAY!

  • @opjonas23 I SAID GOOD DAY!!!

  • @opjonas23 ROFL you're so dam right

  • @opjonas23 hha didnt you know this is his brand new job youtube video maker :D hahaa

  • @opjonas23 lol wow your right.

  • why the casino music?

  • Where can i get one of those leds?

  • radio shack

  • its not a led its a l.e.d

  • what voltage?

  • it's L.E.D.

  • hahaha. you sound like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite...good video tho.

  • hahahahha he does, YOU RULE MAN!

  • his accent is cute!

  • While the LED, battery and switch assembly was nice, the resulting beam would be very wide due to the lens on the end of the pen cap, wouldnt this make it imprecise?

  • the first white LED was much better

  • or normal remote?

  • is the normal laser irled?

  • @dejkola A "normal" laser, that is, a common laser pointer from a dollar store is NOT the same as an infra-red LED, and would not work with the Wii Interactive White board. There are I.R. lasers that would probalby work but they are VERY expensive, and not necessary for the Wii Whiteboard System. The ideal wavelength of light for the Wii Remote to detect it is 940 nano meters or nm.

  • y funciona?? porque el diodo que usaste no se ve muy potente, tengo entendido que el que mejor funciona es el TSAL6400 como el de Johnny Chung Lee, me puedes decir cual usaste y si funciona correctamente con el wiimote whiteboard?

  • Good job 1 small problem wrong end of the pen dipshit.

  • it's not pronounced lead, it's prounounced \ˌel-(ˌ)ē-ˈdē\

  • its pronounced el ee dee

  • who can hjelp me i wnat to build a simple ir device reciver what can i use and by the way cool video pls i need halp !!!!

  • very well chavalin...

    muy bien chavalin

  • It is an L.E.D Light emitting diode!!!! (not a "led")

Keep in mind that batteries and L.E.Ds have different voltage ratings. You very well may burn out your led by using the method in the video. check the batteries for their voltage rating. Or you will be luky and they will match and you and your wiimote will make happy time.

  • of course you can say led. why would somebody write L.E.D or light emitting diode. if led is so simple

  • The reason for that would be because some people enjoy being correct.

But then again... if you enjoy sounding silly, then by all means go for it!!!!

  • led is so new word that everybody write LED or L.E.D or something shit.. why can't you just say the led. i guess that after some years led lights are so popular that peoples say and write just "led"

  • i got my ir led, but i don't know what kind of battery it accept...

    discription:

    radiant power 100ma(output): 16mW min.

    Forward volt: 1.2V

    Foward current: 100mA

    view angle 1/2: 45degree

    wavelength: 940nm

  • you could probably use rechargeable AA or AAA batters. they are rated at 1.2. Am I the only one who thinks it is really funny that he makes led a word not an acronym?

  • @yangc10 Your "Forward voltage" there is the voltage level that it would kick in at, that is, go on. A single AA battery would get it going. Don't supply more then 6 volts and make your that you connect positive to positive and negative to negative.

  • can i take the led from a tv remote?

  • No, Its not powerful enough

  • Couldn't you just by an IR pen for ten dollars from Radioshack?

  • first of all, for marionsroad, you use it for a touch screen computor or projected computor screen using Johnny Lee's Whiteboard Program, and no, you can't buy these things from stores, some seperate websited MIGHT sell them, but mostly u have to do it yourself.

Third, this is the easiest way to build one, it makes a clean, nice looking ir pen, way to go dude!

  • Thanks for answering my question...Have a great day.

  • na, they don't sell, no big store sells these things at all, second, choulo, please for the love of god tell me the brand name of your pen, it's pissing me off, i'm getting all these complicated led pens that don't come of as easily as yours, please tell us!!!!

  • but why would i need an ir pen??

    ANYONE?

(really.. i dont know what i can do with that)

  • check out johnny lee

  • where can i get the ir light and led pen?

  • Radio shack for the ir led, staples for the pen.

  • @enpordoses Ebay for EVERYTHING. Forget Radio shack. I will ship an IR pen right to your door in about 5 business days, for a very low price, almost anywhere in the world.

  • great tutorial, and you have the right kind of eaze in your video, the music really helps comfort. thanks!

  • is ir light invisible to the naked eye

  • yes, it is.

  • Hey, i have an IR diode but unsure which light led pen to buy. Can anyone tell me a brand name or code.

    Cheers :)

  • hey it is me again your fan scootking007 were did you get the ir pen from

  • you soubd like fez for that 70s show! lolz!

  • he does

  • he lives in Spain, so I guess it's just his spanish accent!

  • hahah i didnt relize that til i saw your comment

  • What's the use? maybe illumination for an infrared camera.

  • with one led it would be no use for that.

    but in the video description:

To use with the WiimoteWhiteboard software by Johnny Chung Lee and the wiimote.

  • Whats the purpose? for the wii whitescreen dumbasses

  • plz tell me the point in that

  • its called a L. E. D. not a led

  • ask yourself this: is it laser or L.A.S.E.R

  • good point

  • what the use?

  • Johnny Lee's WiiMote Whiteboard...

  • ..nonsense... what is the use of that.. its just makes the pen heavier... hate that useless things...

  • IR Lights make it heavier BUT IR lights live longer and are a bit brighter.

  • wtf? your talking about a little L.E.D. who cares if it makes it heavier you would never be able to tell the difference! DUMB ASS

  • im not talking about a LED light moron and you can tell the difference...

  • you dont even know what it is! your fuckin retarded! its a I.R. L.E.D. a kind of led and ok it does make a difference but if it makes enough of a difference for you tell tell or to bother you enough to complain than you a fuckin pussy plus get it right its not a led its a L.E.D. dont be lazy that makes you complain about little dumb ass things.

  • Wow? And this pisses you off enough to start cursing? At least I don't need to yell to prove my point. I.R. L.E.D lights can't be seen. L.E.D. lights can. I.R. lights can used to send things like a remote to control a T.V. If you need to start cursing then I'm not stopping you, but when you start yelling your just making yourself look like a "pussy".

  • LOL! your funny as hell dude! lol its a good video i was just playing with you you can check out my videos and comment if you want i made a electronic gun. i know all about them just wanted to see if you did haha

  • I.R. L.E.D. lights can't be seen.. With the human eye. Most cameras and digital equipment will pick it up, like the camera used to record this video..

  • @chaosfire62 some cameras can 'see' infrared rays, a humans naked eye cannot.

  • if you're lazy you can get a great ir pen at infraredpens[dot]com for a pretty good price, only site i've found that actually sells them

  • @kasted

  • any idea where i can buy the pen?

  • LOL IR

  • You did an excellent job with your descriptions of each step. And with each step you made it very easy to watch and follow.

  • Need some technical info. I found a S$3 keychain with led which is perfect, just pull out the light led and push in the infrared led and i am done. My question... it is using 2x 3V CR2016 batteries, so I have to use a 6V infrared led for it?

  • I was wondering the same. I've found a cheap keychain like this, but I'm having trouble locating a 6V IR LED. Any help? Or maybe a keychain that outputs 1.2V.

  • Just go to Radioshack and grab a resistor

  • a what

  • I guess some LEDS are 2,5V and some are 5V, so when you use the top voltage or slightly higher, the LED life span shortens... You might try using 6V, but certainly the LED will last 1/3 of the usual time it uses to... You can ask for a resistor and tell that you want to lower the voltage from 6V to 4,5V, so the desk guy will calculate what resistor you need..

  • I think it's better to buy LED pens or keychains that has the LED sticking out a lil bit for wiimote whiteboard. after all, you need to track the light. right?

  • For those of you who want to try out the WiiMote Whiteboard Project but does not want to build your own pen, you can buy one on ebay (just search "infrared pen"). It is your ideal pen but it works perfectly for this project.

  • This is a great tutorial but. you need to specify what LED you are using. You also need to mention this will not work with 4.5 volts if your LED is only 1.5 volts. Also. Keep in mind that the current must be properly suited to the new LED. You shouldn't have a problem with button cells with current.

    but nice video anyway!

  • if you want u can break a remote and use that led;)

  • I'm not worried about this. I made one using a 1.2 volt IR LED.

I'm an electrician. I was just simple stating that the video could specify what kind of LED to use. Because you can overload the LED by throwing it into any Light pen.

  • I have an IR LED with: 1.2V Forward voltage, 100mA forward current. Which resistor should I use? I'm thinking of using 2 batteries so power would be 3 volts.

  • well its R=U/I...

U in this case is 3V-1.2V=1.8V

I think 80 mA will be enozugh for the LED so R=1.8V/0.08A=22,5 Ohm

  • a 20 ohm resistor will do the job for you.

  • Nice diy..but...is it really such a good solution to have the ir-led all the way inside the pen?.. a flashlight is used to aim foreward, so o problem for the original design..but this ir-pen has to bounce its light sideways,..which is made impossible by this design... at least..it looks that way.

  • Wow, I have to agree with Valant. That was really... comfortable to watch. You made it look really hassle free. Thanks!

  • I bought the pen in a chinese bazaar.

I searched the web to see if they sell it online but I didn't find anything.

The company who builds them is called Xinboshi but their website is only in chinese.

  • Where did you buy the pen? Is it for sale online?

  • It's not Lead, like the metal. It's three different letters, L.E.D. :) Great video, by the way. 5-star. ;)

  • That was one of the most relaxing instructional videos I've ever seen.

Where did you the original pen from?
