Thank you for a simple easy not preachy short basic vid that helped. Thank you for not saying consult your doctor. Cause sometimes their help is crap!
im a type 1. i take about 20 units of lantus at night, and about 5 units of novolog per meal, depending on the carb count. ive been diabetic for about 1 1/4 years, and its not that bad. just a pain in the ass when youre busy making other plans. just get to the gym and eat healthy, managing diabetes becomes much much easier!
Sometimes you can hit a nerve or vein also and it hurts. The point is at an angle, although hard to see. Pinch up and stick it in with the angle face up so it goes in smoother, and itll hurt less,if at all.
Im usually tired I always get sick, Like i had shingles, Tooth abcess, rashes on my skin and the cold and flu and lots and sometimes my muscles are sore. I weigh only 140 pounds and im 17 and i had a bacerial infection before in a weird spot..you know? anyway. Is it possible i have diabetes? DO I HAVE DIABETES? i need help asap.also what happens if i dont do anything? one time also i passed out when i was like 10 years old after standing up fast and running down the stairs.
i take 40 units of lantus in the morning, 45 units of lantus at night and i take humalog before meals with a insulin/carb ratio of 1:3 with a sliding scale of 1 unit for every 10 points i want my blood sugar to come down. So in a days time I take well over 150 units of insulin. I'm praying for a pump soon
Sometimes it stings some, sometimes there is nothing. About once every couple of weeks I think I hit muscle(I guess there is some in there somewhere) and it hurts enough to make me yelp. Generally not too bad, though. It sometimes stings after I inject, but I think that's because I keep the insulin in the refrigerator.
i take 24 units of Lantus and 10 units of humalog before each meal... i was doin good on oral medication till i found out i am preg.. i freaked out when they said i have to give myself shots but it is getting easier
i mix 6 units of novalog and 12 units of humalog before breakfast. i dont take lunch shot. at dinner i take 23 units of lantus and 6 units of novolog. my dad is a diabetic as well and he only has 1 type of insulin...i envy him
lol I've been type 1 for almost 4 years and i've always thought it would be funny to tell people who dont know im diabetic "I shoot up on drugs 4 to 5 times a day and every once in a while i get a bit high...but dont worry i just shoot up some more to make that high feel a bit better!"
Yh I was on Novorapid. It messed with me so they changed me to mixtard. I'm glad we have the pens, cuz drawing it up into a syringe looks like a pain in the ass, lol.

it might hurt less if you let the alcohol dry longer before sticking the syringe

is that why the injection i got at school hurt so much because it went into a muscle?
TheLittleWorldofGaz 3 years ago
Probably. When I don't hit muscle, the needle sometimes just slips in and I feel absolutely nothing, which always surprises me.
