  • She must be from another fu**ing planet to have a voice and talent like this. There's no other explanation.

  • wow, anyone who likes the 80s pop version over this one must be brain dead. one must be emotionally handicapped in some way.if they can't hear the inherent pain in these lyrics. 'is it cool on your island?' as as sarcasm?? give me a break. u must have never been in love.

  • @sydandtaytum Agreed!

  • I nearly died when she played this in Melbourne, Australia - felt like i'd left the planet for a second......possibly the best feeling i've ever lived through.

  • so beautiful, Tori is a great gift to this messed up world

  • Tori should revisit several of her Y Kant Tori Read songs.....Heart Attack at 23 especially...

  • Love that she brings her out still, THANK YOU T!

  • The studio version fits the lyrics better, actually. The song itself is not sorrowful and pitiful, it has a bit of annoyance and angst behind it - even the title, the "Is it cool on your island?" is sarcastic. This is beautifully sung though, apart from the momentarily off-key "Wait..."

  • Tori was in Melbourne 2 weeks ago and this was by far the best song of the night!

    Amazing!!!

  • such a pity that she still did'n come to russia! I'm waiting for her so much!!!

  • Very hard time understanding her words. . .

The bass drowns out any clarity. . .

Anyone want to post the lyrics?

  • beautiful... reminds me of my ex.. "if you don't treat me better..baby ill just run away" and that's exactly what had happened! <3 love tori...

  • If you don't treat me better Baby I'll just run away Baby I don't know what drives you To play all these silly games C'mon baby I'm much stronger than you know Sometimes I'm not afraid to let it show When will you wake up I want you more than the stars and the sun But I can take only so much Cool on your island Is it cool on your island
  • We could buy an airplane

Build a home in the sand

    You could tell your secrets

    I could understand

    But then by the morning

    Comes crumblin' down

    And as your leavin'

    Wait

  • Christ on a bicyle...omg...that is hilarious

  • this live smooth version is just so moving

  • you know she is a preachers daughter from Charlotte ,N.C

  • No shit.

  • I love this version. Of course the recoding is great too. But wow.... i love the sorrow in her voice... gives it the right mood.. its not exactly the happiest of songs if you really pay attention to the words. Thank you for posting this.. i'd have never heard it otherwise.

  • I prefer the studio version, it has this 80's feeling, and is more powerful. This song should have a lot of energy.

Still I can't say that this version is bad...

  • Why should it have a lot of energy? It's not supposed to be like Raspberry Swirl... to me this version is exactly the energy the song requires... it's about emotion and feeling... and Tori totally delivers that here... it was actually really moving.

  • Maybe I'm just used to the studio version. ;)

As I said. I can't say it's bad, but I prefer the album version.

  • I'm a big fan of the studio version too... but when you see this song live... it's just so profound...

when she says the lines "I've got a brand new dress babe, does it make you want to try?" Your heart just breaks with her... and then in the chorus it's just compounded ten times over. The studio has an awesome 80's feel but this is one of the best songs I've seen live.

  • your soo right i think this is soo much better then the damn 80's version.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this version too :)

The song is beautiful either way... but live is so pretty :)

  • I agree, gaseki. I think the YKTR version had more passion, or angst. I'd call this the "lay down and slowly die" version.

Whatever, a lot of people despise the 80's and will go out of their way to say this version is better just despite that decade. To each his or her own.

  • omg no i looove the 80's just i prefer this version.... then again i'm a more of the "lay down and slowly die" typa person...

  • The tone is perfect for this song I think... it shows the passion and the sorrow - so I agree damienxxxpele

  • This is so beautiful. Rock on, Tori!

  • this is so sweet, she should release online a studio mix of this version.

  • Words cannot describe how beautiful this is.

  • this version is much better

  • I love the lyrics of this song so much..."I want you more than the stars and the sun."...Oh how I relate to those words...

  • Lovely!

  • isnt tori too thin?

look at her arms and elbows!

    she's too thin nowadays

C'MON TORI, EAT A BIG FAT HAMBURGER!

  • i love this.

  • What a great rendition and I already loved the (overproduced) original!

  • There is nothing like Tori except...Vintage Tori !

  • you could hear a pin drop in there. That was so beautiful.

  • beautiful experience

  • yeah nice to see .

  • Thank god someone has the full version of this song live! Thanks for putting it up. It's my favorite to see her perform in concert.
