Kids react to their parents. Parents like it, kids like it. Easy as that. Sometimes they want to be different and "act" but you can clearly see when they do.
These aren't very strange foods. I don't know why American parents teach their kids to like only cheap food like chicken and hamburgers. I even had some American friends in high school who had never even tasted a real mango before. My Asian mom always told me to eat the seafood at buffets because its worth more lol.
My youngest would eat it all.In fact,he used to tease his older brother with the calamari.He would say he was eating squidward,pop it in his mouth and go,"yuuummmm".He was about 5 at the time,he's 10 now and will try just about anything once.
