Plus the Royal Knights sucks since they themselves can't digivolve into a stronger form. Gallantmon Crimson Mode would've whipped all the Savers Burst Mode Digimon by himself.
Thats a Lance not a spear first off. Secondly, Dukemon would wipe the floor the Season 5's digimon even in Burst Mode. I mean he can hold his own against Omnimon. Seriously they are lucky Sleipmon decided to go suicidal when he did.

@violinazo The thing that you have to ask is what do you mean by different evolutions? All Digimon have different evolutions. A good question to ask, is why would you expect two Digimon to behave, even evolution-wise, exactly the same, especially in Digimon? That's what evolution requirements are for, so that two Digimon of the same species could end up evolving into two completely different Digimon.

A good example is the very début of Digimon, the Digital Monster Ver 1 v-pet, where Agumon could evolve into Greymon, Tyranomon, Devimon, Meramon or Numemon. This was the very same Agumon with the potential to evolve into all of them. No difference, no different personality, no armbands, just requirements.

If you agree with the v-pets and games that the anime is based off of that all Digimon have the capacity of evolving into multiple evolutions (like real organisms no less!), the answer's simple: any Agumon can evolve into Greymon or Geo Greymon (+others), and here's the proof =)

@scorpion3500 Technically all Dukemon have the potential to go to Crimson Mode, but it's simply not that easy. Forget Mode Changes at the Ultimate level, even getting as far as Perfect level is supposed to be nearly impossible in Digimon. People tend to forget that watching the TV anime series.
@AmandoRambo In Digimon Savers, the "villains" are pretty much as villainous as the ones in Digimon Tamers. You have to take into account the motivation, the Royal Knights and Yggdrasil want to destroy all the humans because a long while ago a human came into the Digital World and single-handedly destroyed a large part of it. I haven't even watched Savers, and I know that.

Dukemon is kind of contradictory himself being both a Virus Digimon (normally) and yet often times of the Virus Buster family.

A good question to ask, is why would you expect two Digimon to behave, even evolution-wise, exactly the same, especially in Digimon? That's what evolution requirements are for, so that two Digimon of the same species could end up evolving into two completely different Digimon.

the only difference I see is the bands on his hands and the personality but nothing else. Geogreymon is very similar to greymon but why one digivolves to greymon and the other one to geogreymon?

@violinazo The very nature of Digimon is to fight and gain the potential to become one of the strongest amongst different evolutions. It would be weird if they evolved into the same Digimon =P
A good example is the very début of Digimon, the Digital Monster Ver 1 v-pet, where Agumon could evolve into Greymon, Tyranomon, Devimon, Meramon or Numemon. This was the very same Agumon with the potential to evolve into all of them. No difference, no different personality, no armbands, just requirements.

@violinazo You're forgetting that the anime is *based* on the v-pets =P Without the v-pets, there is no anime.
Now, if you think that all Digimon only evolve of the same species into one thing, you have this conundrum. If you agree with the v-pets and games that the anime is based off of that all Digimon have the capacity of evolving into multiple evolutions (like real organisms no less!), the answer's simple: any Agumon can evolve into Greymon or Geo Greymon (+others), and here's the proof =)

@violinazo All right =) Well, by DNA, I suppose that you mean DigiSoul, the energy that they conjure up when they say "DNA Charge". In that case, you're right on the money. Another example is the manga (comic) Digimon Next. In Next, an Agumon naturally evolved into Greymon. Then he was partnered up with the tamer Tatsuno Tsurugi, reverted and evolved into Geo Greymon (with DigiSoul). So in theory, he could evolve into both. He looked like a normal Agumon too, except for an illegal Digimon mark.

in 01 his line up was agumon->greymon->metalgreymon->wargreymon
DS/NEXT agumon->geogreymon->rizegreymon->shinegreymon or victorygreymon
for guilmon its the same. Guilmon->growlmon->wargrowlmon->megidramon or gallentmmon
and guilmon is a species and in an AU, so its possible that there are multiple guilmons in one reality, and only one guilmon in another

The two shows have different names (Digimon Tamers versus Digimon Savers) and no explicit stating that they take place in the same continuity, unlike Digimon Adventure and 02, leading one to believe that Digimon Tamers and Digimon Savers do not take place in the same continuity or universe.

If you have ever read V-Tamer 01, there's a boy named Yagami Taichi who looks exactly like the one in Digimon Adventure, and the worlds aren't *that* different.
Tamers isn't the same Universe as Digimon Adventure. Have you ever played the Digimon Adventure, 02 and Tamers games for the WonderSwan and WSC?

@scorpion3500 Technically all Dukemon have the potential to go to Crimson Mode, but it's simply not that easy. Forget Mode Changes at the Ultimate level, even getting as far as Perfect level is supposed to be nearly impossible in Digimon. People tend to forget that watching the TV anime series.

Dukemon just fought off three Ultimate Level digimon. You can see the fallen MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, and Ravemon right there.
Also, Dukemon needs Grani in order to become Crimson Mode. This incarnation obviously doesn't have it. This Dukemon is also completely independent.
Season 3's Guilmon can only become Dukemon with Takato.
If left to their own devices, it's Season 3's Dukemon that's worthless. Besides, this one becomes Dukemon X in the movie.

@AmandoRambo In Digimon Savers, the "villains" are pretty much as villainous as the ones in Digimon Tamers. You have to take into account the motivation, the Royal Knights and Yggdrasil want to destroy all the humans because a long while ago a human came into the Digital World and single-handedly destroyed a large part of it. I haven't even watched Savers, and I know that.

@AmandoRambo I understand =) And I'm glad that you think so. The main issue is to try not to fit Digimon into alliance by species, even including the Royal Knights. In the Digital Monster Card Game certain cards are marked "Royal Knights" or ロイヤルナイツ because not all Digimon of any species are necessarily Royal Knights =) (namely those unmarked). Dukemon is kind of contradictory himself being both a Virus Digimon (normally) and yet often times of the Virus Buster family.
