  • I need to do a "rewind" of this track.

    See what I did there????

  • I think that Craig David changed ALOT .. not for the best ... :) for the worst ! He had his own style , like in this song .. it was just something special .. but now it' s history.

  • By far and away Craig David's best track right here.

  • been listening to this one 4 ten years...don't think it will ever get old...a hidden vocal jem.

  • Takes me back to 2000. Being 16, leaving school, chilling out with friends and girls at parties, Denim jackets with matching jeans, beanies, facial hair and Nike Cortez trainers. Bit chavy now looking back at it but it wasn't at the time and we didn't have the chav culture or attitude back then, we were good kids just having fun and not hurting anyone.

    Thanks Craig

  • @TheMetroSexuals

    I get ya,

  • Can't remember how many times a day I listen to this tune, seriously 80% of the views are probably mine. :3

Craig deserves way more recognition for how beautiful his music really is.

  • fact is, craig davids voice is so on form that it sounds almost autotuned. I just hate it when ppl say he was 'shallow' or a one hit wonder. Ridiculous talent

  • trop bonne cette ziek lol

  • buen tema!!

  • I once got mistaken for Craig David in McDonalds! True story. Anyway, I've always liked this track - lots of soul. But sadly he has never matched what he achieved on his debut album

  • @simonreza Ya I completely agree. He's so pop no it's not even funny.

Chris Brown is the same way. His first album is a classic.

  • we want you back Craig...

  • Craig David is a nasty vocalist...I wish he can come back and show everyone one what a real singer sounds like....Its sad that he doesn't get enough credit for his music

  • im not realy a fan of rnb music but the uk had so many great artists back then.i dont want to call someones name here but if i hear a certain american rnb singer, i realy feel like stumping the shit out of his gay attitude and gay voice ´ ass.serious i get realy agressive only hearing his voice.

but for craig ... i dont give a dam if hes gay straight or curved or whatever.he used to be realy cool

  • @liquidbokii88 he still is...

  • why cant he make this kind of music anymore!!! come backkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • The song is incredible, but from 3:04 onwards it just sick . . .

  • I flippin love this right here...........no real words come to mind bout how i feel bout this

  • I LOVEEEEE THIS SOOOOONG !♥

  • omggg orgasm in the ear

  • LIKEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I KNOW THAT U LIKE THE WAY THAT I PUT IT DOWN ON YUUUUUUUUU

  • It's easy to say craig should 'go back to his roots' to find success again, but the truth is, his style was linked with UK garage, a music genre which has long left the charts. It doesn't change the fact that he's one of the best singers of all time. People harp on about mariah carey and so on but these americans are so pretentious, adding far too much melisma and vibrato for the sake of it. Craig's voice is more natural, and yet so smooth it almost sounds autotuned. Perfection.

  • @richalexander12

Thats crazy it does almost sound autotuned...his voice is so original

    its amazing.

  • @richalexander12 You can have all the talent in the world, but If you don't use your talents to its highest potential, it'll never mean anything. lol, just ask Dunga hahahahahahaha.

  • soulful. i miss this type of rnb songs, i hate the fact that hes into dance-rnb songs nowadays

  • a cut above the rest

  • Whats the best way to find mp3iiiiify to download this mp3? Someone told me to google mp3iiiiify.

  • shame they dont make tunes like this, the UK way!!!!! go on Craig!!!!!!! proper original tune!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is perfection

  • i like this song

  • Amazing song and he should release it now im sure it will reach no 1

  • Yeaahhh...T'es le meilleur, j'en raffole.

  • my favorite.............. XD

  • should have released this song... so wonderful

  • @nab243 completely agree should have been released is amazing and still brings tears to my eyes when i listen to it so many years l8r

  • hot....hot.....hot....

  • epic album! Craig David rocks

  • ...it simply can't get better than this

  • Comment removed

  • I am feeling it!

  • ahhhhhh sweet memories of junior high!!!

  • agreed this song ....and this album Born To Do It is amazing

  • pisses me off the fact that he literally bought out one of the best sounding albums ive ever heard. then to see everything after just not hitting the same spot as this does.

but still to this day listening to this album, so many good songs..

  • Sick album.. i bought it on release day and still absolutely love listening to it.

But yeah.. can only agree to what most here said, i didnt like his later releases so much, basically everything that came after the Sting collaboration. It was too RnB'ish for my taste..

I love how laid back Born to do it sounds

  • Guys, Thriller aside, "Born to do It" was the only flawless album of our generation. It is impossible to expect him to duplicate that kind of quality and vibe in another album. Craig is just a different person. call it maturity

  • This was my song when i was 16....this and Rendevouz

  • 2:36 ...... just such an amazing voice.... unbelievable

  • omg, brings back so many memories...:) craig's awesome!! I remember listenin' to this album when I was like 14xD :P

  • lol me too man i used to love walking away and key to my heart my faves lol wow i love how his music takes me back to those days

  • absolutely the king of rnb...

  • This song came out on this very first CD, that came out in 2001. I was in middle school.

Take me Waaaay back. I remember playing this song to my girl at the time. We lasted till 10th grade in High School.

But damn, I wish Craig David would make music like this again.

  • u so know it!!! i totally agree, dis is CD's best album to date or even eva!!!

  • I wish Craig David still made music like this.

I get more and more disappionted with each album he's put out. I still buy them when they come out, but I always go back to Born To Do It. To this day, I still enjoy that Album, and especially this song.

  • word! I wonder why he isn't putting out an album with this sound..? heard that he will release an album this year... let's see....

  • to me slicker and the story goes on are still amazing albums, trust me is good, but i find the first 3 albums godlike

  • @dra23D

"Slicker", he got carried away with trying to break through to an American audience. "Story Goes", he fell off completly. "Trust me" wasnt Craig david at all.

Craig David has a hard time when it comes to walking the lines between Indy, and R&B. He always goes too far into one side, but "Born To Do It" was where he got it right. It was fresh, new, and you knew it was Craig David. Today, we need something like that because everyone sounds alike. I hope he gets himself back together.

  • yea, but sadly i think he is about to do more money with his songs, cuz they are good, but not that popular, i dunno why retarded people listen to rihana or lady gaga more than craig david, so yea, he thinks i assume, that need to do more comercial songs. i like them too, the new songs, but yea, he was better in past. i dont complain, his voice, his life, his money. he still did not will lose his fans, i think, not me im sure =)

  • @dra23D

I think Craig David needs to stop trying to cater to peoples taste, and just be himself. Thats what made "Born To Do It" work so well. That was just him. He wasn't trying to appease demographics, or prove critics wrong, or win awards, or non of that. He just made music that sounded good to him, and it was his biggest success.

Im always gunna be a fan of his, but he's gotta get back to basics.

  • Couldn't have said it better. Agreed completely.

  • @Persadish idk, story goes was good, damn good

  • @rnb90s I respectfully disagree. I thought Story Goes was a wrong step in his career. His up tempo songs were pre-packaged beats from American studios that sounded very generic and ungeniune, and the slower tracks slowed the album down to a crawl, to the point where I thought Craig David had become utterly depressed. In the end, the album had soul, but it sounded like an very exhausted, despressed, and emotionally defeated soul. BUT, thats just my views, and I'm no expert; just a fan.

  • @Persadish yea i definately see where you're coming from with that. i do wish it had more tracks like his debut, but lyrically this was superior. johnny and let her go are well written and cover much deeper ground than anything on born to do it, and with unbelievable, we have craig's first real love song. i agree that the faster songs are a bit generic, but all the way is still a classic craig david groove and does have a hint of two step to it. and hypnotic is as good as any song on his debut.

  • @rnb90s I absolutly agree that the lyrics demonstrated amazing writing by Craig David, but his vibe just seemed to have vanished. He was no longer a smooth, soulful, R&B artist, with tracks you could just groove or chill out too; He became a Folk/Indy singer that boardered on whiney. Hypnotic was decent, but the feel of Story Goes felt so dreary, that Hypnotic felt out of place. I wish that album was 12 Tracks that could've held the vibe Hypnotic had, but that wasn't the case.

  • @Persadish yea i see wat u mean by indie/folk singing. i know what it is. usually i pick born to do it during the day cuz it has more uptempo tracks, whereas i put in story goes at night cuz its a little more chill. i usually prefer slower songs at night. dont get me wrong, i absolutely love born to do it, its a classic and one of my favs. i like story goes just a little more tho haha. slicker wasnt bad either hahahaha

  • @rnb90s hahahaha, yea Slicker wasn't bad either. Honestly though, I thought that album would have been bigger than it was. Or AT LEAST influence the way the 3rd album was gunna sound.

  • @Persadish yea, have u heard any of his unreleased tracks? my fav song by him is smoothed out and it wasnt on any of his albums

  • @rnb90s smoothed out is definately a hit song..its so catchy, he's such a gr8 artist!

  • @rnb90s and Four Times A Lady! :D

  • @dra23D yea, dare i say story goes rivals born to do it

  • Ich sterbe für dieses Lied ;) ...

  • to be frank, he is the last great R&B artist i can think of that came out from this decade. neyo does not come close but he's the best we have got. and by the way this is the best R&B album of the entire decade

  • since where all talking about auto tune i do agree that most artist who do use auto cant sing to save there life. Some though "mariah carey, christina, whitney" CAN sing but i think they just use it in some of there songs today to keep up with the times........like they can sing. but most music sucks today anyway so what music was better in the 90s and then i say going down hill even more after 2005, this song i good and i love Craig's first CD but music in general suxs today big time

  • what happened to music like this? Uses a lot more natural voice than today's music.

I hate how all the artist ..chris brown...neyo use that vocal synthesiser to modify their voice into an electronic voice.

  • wow!!! ur completly right...Craig David is still making music right now and still isn't using autotune even though its used in most songs today..he's one of the last few artists thats completly original and real and doesnt resort to autotune just to make one song good in order to make money..he uses his all natural voice like most artists should do

  • He kind of used it in his song Insomnia though....

  • i dont know any songs that neyo as use that autotunne stuff with. what song ?

  • @bebo3ful Bruno Mars is going to bring us.
