  • Great lesson....Why do most players keep a capo on the 5th string in open g tuning? I can't seem to find any information on this question.

  • @burgerbob39 if you capo the neck near the nut ,say 2nd fret from the nut then you have to capo the fifth string also ,second fret up ,to make it in tune with the larger capo like a guitar capo,its because the fifth capo starts in the middle of the neck that this has to be done separately,i hope that helps.cheers ,jake the banjo.

  • @burgerbob39 The capo is not engaged, in this case.

    It's off the string, just hanging there waiting to be used in another tuning/song.

  • Shubb sliding 5th string capo.

    Took it off and switched to spikes shortly after this video was shot.
