@victorthegroover..... That wasn't the issue. I just cleared up who was playing bass in the video. Yeah I'm full aware Billy recorded the album. I was just explaining that the guy miming in the video is in fact a excellent bass player in his own right. In which you also did. Clear that issue up.... :-) \m/
But for some reason David's Skyscraper didn't sell as well as the earlier Eat 'Em and Smile lp, which seemed very odd to me. I think David's Skyscraper was more music most could relate to than the earlier lp.
Having sex with Dave in those days would have been like been hit by a semi trailer being propelled by an out of control freight train. Women around the world are probably still trying to get their heads around it.
I love the bit where Dave is twirling the mic stand like it's a piece of straw. Those things are heavy! This was when he was at his height of martial arts powers. Check out those round-houses. God love him.......
Check out my channel for a remix i did. ...If you want. I'm not out looking for views but if you're a fan of dance and who isn't a fan of David Lee Roth? yeah, Love this song so much.
I just love Dave sailing off on some naff flying surf board with a pretty lame fart smoke coming out of it. And Dave is like "Yep, this'll get me through until the next gig. I Just have to make it look interesting and the punters will love it." And we did!!!!!!!
As an 80's bloke, I'd put this on my top 5 songs/videos. Dave is awesome. At the peak of of his extensive martial arts training (you try that round house or doing those moves with a bloody heavy microphone stand). He just stalks the stage. I do love the "make this romance last and last....thats it thats it" bit. And then little Stevey Vai........I've seen him live. He
@babylove9306 i thought u talked about the album, cause Billy recorded it... one way or another matt bisonette is VERY GOOD. Why do u think Satriani picked him up to play with him?
I feel kinda bad for David. He isn't meant to grow older.. :/ If only one person could stay young forever, David would have grabbed that opportunity. He is youth, love, warmth, energy, happiness and music personalized. No one can live their lives as good ol' Diamond Dave. Love from Sweden!
@djjjkjjjdjcj I saw him in play in Brisbane (quite) a few years ago. The room was about a million degrees (aircon broke down) and most of that was from his playing. He is amazing.
@ghostzapper2006 You should see Vai when he is not playing second-fiddle to Dave and isn't being told what to do by a director. See him live. Believe me, he can play a guitar and command a stage....
Everytime when I used to see this video on MTV I used to pretend I was David Lee Roth. 88....I would have been 5...???...Holy Shit i'm getting old??!!
It wasn't his third solo album, it was his second. He released an EP while still with Van Halen with California Girls, Just a Gigolo and two other songs on it that I can't remember
i played the skyscraper cd until the laser almost burned a hole in it.
This was david lee roth at its best. now he's 2 years away from his 60 birthday.
This fact frightens me, because this means that i'm getting old to, and i hate it, because thsi decade wil be a sad one, when it comes to music, because it's the decade in witch alot of great artist wil retire for good! Think of the stones, red hot chili peppers, aerosmith, and not to mention the ones who already retired. Well, life's a bitch!
@3DPeter God you are so right. It frightens me to think of these mega stars as old.. And worse there's no back-up. Nothing coming. There is just no-one. Can you imagine Madonna dead rather than doing sex books?? Fuck - getting old, huh?
These were the times who knew just a few years later grunge would come and ruin this kind of music and pretty much DLR's music career. Grunge ruined the new generation, Im glad I managed to live these times. Rock on 80s I miss you!!
@ItchyMrBoy Bullshit. Dave was the real deal. A total adrenalyine junkie. Heavily martial arts trained. If you cant work that out from what you see of him, get a new brain.

OK...After Van Halen, Dave's band was at 100% talent overload! Seriously... guitarist Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Gregg Bissonette were/are without question, flawlessly talented.
I got to see their kick-off show in Virginia in August '86...front row, and later got to hang with the band back stage. It was one of THE most rockin' concerts I have ever witnessed.
david lee roth ,finally back with van halen.eddie finally woke up and got back the legendary frontman that makes van halen great.
