The cameraman is the real hero of this clip. The other guy is just standing or sitting around. The cameraman is doing the same things but carry camera equipment.
If I could talk my wife into it I'd do it. I think the fascination is not at how powerful a killer a bear is but what a gentle creature it is, which is just a reflection of us. A person in a harsh environment can quickly become violent yet placed in a loving environment can develop peacefully, so by connecting with the bears we're really just trying to connect to ourselves.
What I find to be fascinating in these recurring instances of humans managing to live so close to wild bears is that the bears evidently sense that we are different and not just another prey animal. They must have a deep curiosity about these odd creatures---humans---and tolerate their presence as something interesting or even positive in their lives. Unfortunately we humans are the most violent species on the planet and too many humans want to just kill the bears as "trophy" animals.
...The title says alone, but if the camera man is there as well, he is not really alone?

Insane.
Not even St. Francis was fowling around with the wild and free animals. Leave them alone and suicide another way.
