It was standard format to replace the band with Dave's houseband at the time. You think this looks strange, you should check out the Black Crowes performing with them - very odd indeed. Miles is a gent!

wow, haven't seen this since it originally aired. i also was dissappointed at the time. not the band's fault, i remember screaming, why the F are they playing with the late night band! (also i wanted to hear size of a cow instead). listening to it again, it really was a pretty good performance. thanks for posting!

It was customary at the time for bands to sit out a couple of members and play along with the "Late Night Band" which always made for some...unique performances! :_)
