We have a tradition at my school. the week before christmas break we have square dancing. It is the best thing ever, but its even better when the teachers get into it. at one time we had about 12 squares going. We also have line and social dance class where we learn line dances, ChaCha, more square dances, And swing dancing.

As a kid, mom and dad used to drag us kids along to square dancing. We never got into it. All we wanted to do was play and rough house with all the other bored and disinterested kids. But now, as an adult, it's interesting to see what it was all about (we still had more fun than they did though).

What strange opinions about a dancing that's fun in all respects and trains important things like respecting others, helping each other, knowing it takes 8 people to be successful, no room for egoism. And besides this square dancing trains double fitness: you have to move (sometimes very fast) which makes for physical fitness, and you have to think at the same time (mental fitness) because dancers never know which movement comes next.
