  • boogity boogity boogity

  • Even though I'm not a racing fan, I have to admit, he's right about what he said. It's more worth it to win, without hurting anyone in the process. :)

  • good guy or bad guy idc he still the best in the sport

  • hell i always loved good man darrel waltrip he was just like any other driver it will go to your head at first

  • hell i always loved good man darrel waltrip

  • DW is the best

  • ugh, americans and their emotionally unstable personalities which end up in their insecure religions. There's nothing what makes me more sick than this.

  • @joe80dmanizanerd There are a lot of things worse such as crimes against children, murder, bigoted people who categorize entire countries based on a part of the population. Yeah, I think there are a few things that sicken me more. But then I am probably not as enlightened as you. Sorry.

  • poor fan torn and beaten he deserves better darrel is able to forgive he raised a wonderful young man michael however he also had the courage to repair his damageshe has done it all best driver and most popular he is worth forgiving

  • him and his red head wife mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm fucked her good

  • @440sac MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM JUST LIKE YOUR DADDY DID YOUR MOMMY

  • We won the 500 baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never forget that day and i was 8 or 9 when it happened! Go DW and you know dale's got a cold one waiting for ya when you get there good buddy!

  • @CatholicPriest1945 Don't waste your time with someone that evidently is a hater with a very bad spelling

  • dale sr. was one of the best Drivers however he was hated when he first started

  • @CatholicPriest1945 Why would sucking something even cross a guys mind? Your a bigger homo than him..... I guess the name fits, been hanging with some alter boys of late? Hahaha now admit it, I burned your ass there!

  • People still hate you. Your a damn dork, boogity boggity shit wtf is that ya damn homo.

  • @RagnarOdinsson And ur a fag

  • @alexvigneault55 and you would know all about fags wouldn't you. Oh I would bet a paycheck you have seen more than a couple up close.

  • Since when did he become humble. He's obnoxious, arrogant and ignorant, a bad combination. I can enjoy the rest of the season now that his half of the year is over. I've met him several times. The guy's a world class jerk. He specializes in stating the obvious and pretending he's brilliant.

  • @TheDeparted112570 Because dale sr was everything that nascar was back then, it was a primarily southern sport, back when they wore cowboy hats and rolled up a pack of cigarettes in their sleeve. People related to dale cause he came from a small town blue collar life. He was a good old boy and a hell of a race car driver, he didnt have to be cocky, he whooped your ass on the track and thats all that mattered. Like him or not, nobody raced a car like dale, give him his respect for that at least.

  • The crash that should have changed his life- "when he almost killed davey allison at pocano!"

  • It seems that people are missing the point....Darrell accepted Christ and his forgiveness into his heart. He became a Born Again Christian. Jesus is what changed him. Darrell is not perfect by any means but, he is assured a Heavenly home now and he has that small still voice within that directs his actions and his life.

    John 3:16 KJV

    Jesus Saves

  • even good guys arn't liked when they win a lot, just the nature of nascar fans

  • Most if not all top motor racing drivers have a strong ego, they are blind with ambition to win.Its a hard sport, with at times life changing,or ending results. Its a highly competitive scene where you are urged on to do the very best you can, young guys dont always manage this huge thing they are placed into, especially going back a few years. Now with managers and teams with huge resources focused in the right direction you see less impending disasters and more highly promising young drivers.

  • Jaws... We love you man.

  • Chicken bones...... LMAO!

  • I love both DW and Kyle busch. The attitude is refreshing :)

  • @Kboman love dw. not kyle you never saw dw gettingh is ass kicked by car owners

  • In his day, DW was my driver, a great person as well as driver. A friend of mine hated DW until she met him, then her opinion changed quickly and he became her favorite. You are right, he does not look like he has changed at all.

  • d.w one of the best drivers in the sport

  • Whats the name of this film?

  • Kyle Busch is going through what Waltrip went through. Won a bunch of races seemingly bulletproof, checkers or wreckers mentality win at all costs, very very similar in style to Darrell in his heyday. Kyle also draws strong feelings like Darrell did, but he'll come back down once he realizes what Darrell realized.

  • i like Darrell always have..i think he just grew up,and its not a entity that changed him..everyone likes to say God this and that...naaaa you grew up dude, had a bad wreak and it woke you up..bottomline..he has a huge heart great guy..

  • I'm not familiar with racing, why did people hate him so much was he mean to everyone or what? I dont get it.

  • @latinahoney123 People didn't like him because he was very cocky and arrogant early in his career. Darrell won a lot of races and got very big headed and wasn't afraid to let people know it. Nascar fans are different than other sports fans, we tend to cheer more for the underdog, the small guy, the nice guy. Because Nascar fans can relate in a lot of ways to the drivers. Drivers that are cocky are disliked by fans even if they win. Kind of like today and Kyle Busch.

  • @MassillonJoe i always liked darrell, davy allison was myfavorite though. i NEVER liked dale earnhardt.

  • @MassillonJoe , Youre so right. Isnt it great a young kid like Trevor comes along. Good racer for a youngster and more humble than the rest. I dont watch alot of racing cause of the haughtiness but enjoyed watching Trevor win. Hope he remains humble

  • @MassillonJoe And like Jeff Gordon was.

  • @MassillonJoe Kyle Busch isant winning Cups

  • He deserves to be in the nascar hall of fame and i can only hope he makes it there

  • @g0ing2n0where he will

  • kinda reminds u of kyle busch today

  • Only problem I have with Darrell: Either commentate or be a sponsor representative... don't do both. Him and Michael need to stop plugging sponsors left and right... not fair to the fans... that goes for all the commentators / team owners in NASCAR

  • @RacingsTruth naa they come to them..its the name they want..big checks always makes one go in a direction..these guys dont need sponsors..lol..hell they been multimillionaires for a very long time..i mean its like any sport all the big stars end up doing this..its the norm..just my thought on that

  • the narrator is Jeff Kaye of NFL Films.

  • the narrator is Jeff Kaye of NFL Films

  • Kyle Busch needs to be strapped to a chair in a padded room and forced to watch this several hundred times over. Amazing driver, terrible person.

  • @SlyHobbit hell eventually come to realization... till then i will give him the respect as a good driver that he deserves but his attitude deserves him no respect at all

  • Is he saying his 83 crash changed his style? Hmm what about the tip on Davey in years later the caused Davey to flip?

  • DW is one of ythe most arrogant pieces of shit there ever was.. he was willing to do whatever it took to get to the top level. no respect for anybody but himself.

  • darrel was a smart ass and he will be the first one to admit it but he also is one of the most generious people in this sport today he is very passionate

  • darrell waltrip is a damn crybaby. every year he doesnt get into the hof he's going to cry about it. he doesnt deserve to see himself inducted into the hall. none of these crashes woke him up. he still is an arrogant dumbass.

  • Im not a religious man but this is still a great story. Even when its not fox sports covering it ill still say the: 'boogity boogity boogity' at the drop of the green flag

  • Kyle Busch needs to see this video.

  • There was a praying wife in this story! Your prayers are powerful ladies! They can change the world!

  • I actually liked DW as a driver, but he is one of the worst announcers in NASCAR history. He is not humble, he still thinks it's all about him. Ned and Benny made it about the sport and the drivers on the track. DW looks for ways to make it about himself. I wish he would get out of the booth and back into the car.

  • I was at the 1989 Daytona 500. Everybody was cheering DW on as he won the race. I was a great moment..

  • And he took them out and won.

  • Comment removed

  • nice guys always finish last!!! who cares if you're the most popular driver, if you don't win a damn thing!!!

  • @MaverickXSE People do care about the true chanpions, the ones who are humble enough to admit that life is not all about themselves. Winning isn't everything, it's how your remebered that makes you a real champion!

  • i think this is why darrell loves it when kyle busch wins:] it reminds him of himself, always wins but hated.

  • see thats the thing with dale jr is he wants to win and tries to win but he doesnt want to hurt anyone or be the bad guy

  • @zeidy388 Dale Junior is one classy guy! His Daddy would be / IS proud of him for sure!

  • is it just me or has DW looked almost the same for like 25 years now :D

  • @gojeffgordan09 LOL. I love him. I used to call him "Darryl Wall Trip" because of his accident up the wall. What a great racer. He was my fave at that time.

  • @gojeffgordan09

Agreed. At first I thought this video was more recent. But then he says he's 50 yrs old, which means it's from around 1997.

  • lol dw was the kyle busch of bak then

  • Kyle Busch is hated because he whines and bitches about every little thing. You can't think you won't be hated if you bitch about coming in second every week.

  • Praise God, that was great! You are my wifes favorite driver and now I know why. That was really classy. God bless!

  • lmao turn on googles transcribe audio thing and listen to the whole video xD especially from 3:30 on

  • Darrell and all the commentators suck now. They never shut up and just watch the race. All that stupid screaming.

  • he won more races than Earnhardt and peaople consider earnhardt the greatest of all time

  • @pewmovr i think the reason that is is bc gordon hasnt done as many exiting things as wat dale has

  • @pewmovr 7 time champ so yep the greatest next 2 the king

  • darrell and dale were down to earth people they hung around track workers and officals and learned old school to make there school new they weren`t stuck up like so many other drivers was a track worker from 69-81 from the old gang in riverside goodrins kids bubbles and green beer drinkers we did ha ha from dick ,dennis.danny.pete jim mike bob floyd graig dan and many other hooya old riverside kicked ass

  • Too bad he sucks as a commenter, doesn't know what he is talking about and he and Larry ramble pretty much over anything. He interrupts Mike Joy and Jeff Hammond almost constantly to say his

opinions. Yes he is great guy and all but doing TV has nothing to do with that. Some people like me can't stand what comes out of his mouth.

  • @Montoya42Fan he doesn't suck at it he the best

  • @Montoya42Fan Montoyoya sucks he's a Mojado.

  • I met Darrell during a tire test at Charlotte in the early 80"s during the height of the Jaws's/Gatorade area. One of the nicest drivers I had a chance to meet, period.

  • amen

  • Yeah...take away Babe Ruth's baseball bat and he was just a boozer. LOL! How about taking away Jonas Salk's vaccine and he was just a nerdy scientist.

  • I remember DW. DW the cry baby, always blaming someone else when he crashed, lost, didn't qualify well, etc. Now he's more popular since he is a FOX TV play by play man. Plus he made some funny Toyota commericals. Personally though, I think he's still a little KY cocksucker (his brother too, literally). Thanks to JR Johnson he won three cup titles. So there's my two cents worth.

  • It would have been so cool if Darrell never hit hi head.....And JAWS would eat up 3 more WINSTON CUP TITLES. All These mad Athesits Wining all the time.

  • jay rockerfeller can suck my dick

  • He is like an older more mature Kyle Busch, I just wish that Busch would have that crash that knocks some sense into him.

  • @NCSportsMan70 he doesn't know shit about racing now, he says crap on tv every week

    fire his ass

  • @Rcrby525 who?

  • @NCSportsMan70 Darrel Waltrip.

  • @Rcrby525 how does he not kno shit about racing? He won the Daytona 500. You need to stop sipping that hatorade

  • @NCSportsMan70 Dale jr won the 500 twice, he is still over-rated :P

  • @Rcrby525 YES!!! Not sure what happened. I can't imagine losing your father, at work no less. Kind of funny that he gets tired after about 1/2 way through a race but his sponsor is Mountain Dew, which I love by the way and AMP, which I have never tried. Both of those drinks should GIVE you energy especially AMP. I saw Jr on TV smashing a gorilla for Christ sakes. What's up with that? Maybe he should drink a gallon of AMP during pit stops. Any takers on that?

  • @Rcrby525 he only won it once not twice

  • @NCSportsMan70 just because someone wins the 500 doesn't make them the best driver in the world.

  • @Rcrby525 but it does mean they know something about NASCAR, I didn't say he was the greatest driver ever. Putting words in my mouth

  • @NCSportsMan70 says the guy who accused me of drinking "hatorade" which means i am hating

no, i'd rather a guy that doesn't do whimsical bullshit on a weekly basis from february til june

  • @Rcrby525 I said you were putting words in my mouth because you said that just because he won the 500 does not mean that he is the greatest driver ever, but I never said that he was the greatest ever, I just said he knew something about NASCAR. You said he didn't know anything about NASCAR.

  • @Rcrby525 You are correct!

  • @67madness i'd rather kyle petty in the fox booth, fuck,

both Darrel Waltrip and Rusty Wallace need to be fired

they have no idea what the hell they are talking about

when ESPN said they were comming back, i thought it would be speedworld-epicness that we had back in the 80's and 90's

    i was wrong, dead wrong,

TNT is now the epic of epicness with their coverage\

atleast Dallenbech knows what racing is

    and explains it well.

  • @Rcrby525 Correct again man. Hell, how about Eli Gold or Buddy Baker? When I was younger Ned Jarret was the corner stone of NASCAR reporting. TBS had the races, I think. Eli didn't drive but what a love for racing. I guess he didn't fit the TV image and he's out. I still listen to him on AM radio on MRN. OK where did this NASCAR Marty Smith come from? He and DW must be getting something good from Jr. because they "over" love him. DW, a joke? YES.

  • that wreck knocked the common sense out of him

  • it was that idiots fault too

  • hillbillies. praise Jesus

  • DW is so full of himself it hurts... I hate watching him as a TV commentator, he thinks it's all about him. If he had a reflective moment it's gone now... his ego knows no restraint.

  • after 1980 Daytona 500, there was a motorhome pulling out of the track and we were crossing to get back to parking lot. iwas about 20 feet in front and it looked just like Waltrip driving. His face was so intense and pissed off looking...i was afraid he was gonna run us over...he seems a much different person now!

  • Darrell is the man!!:D

  • actually it was his 88 crash at daytona that changed him. he did win the 89 daytona but wasnt as aggressive as in years past.

  • Yea agree defiantly, he was agressive well after this, and ppl didnt like him until rusty spun him at the winston.

  • Always a Darrell Waltrip fan.

  • i think that is why darrell likes kyle bush ... he can relate.

  • Kyle Busch is the closet you'll ever see to Dale Sr. they just won't let them race. But after everyone has that one crash they're never the same

  • I'm gonna disagree with you on this one. Even as a guy who disliked Dale Earnhardt (much like people now hate Kyle Busch, or Jimmie Johnson), I will say that when he said something, he said something with purpose, and when it needed to be said.

Guys like Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart just run their mouths more than their cars whenever they feel they've been personally wronged, and they don't come off as a voice to be heard - they come off as whiners.

    Dale most certainly did not.

  • excellent comment. couldnt agree more

  • What an incredibly stupid thing to say! You dont believe in religion? Fine, just keep it to yourself and STFU!

  • @reelkena That's kind of harsh. Why do you care? I am atheist, and I don't feel the need to rip on people for their religious beliefs. It doesn't affect you at all so leave it alone!

  • great argument. "Dumb people thinking dumb things". socrates would love the way you handled that.

  • @reelkena you are an obama voter aren't you?

  • Is it a coincidence you put a Michael Card song at the end? The Cards are good friends with the Waltrips.

  • I think this is why he and Earnhardt, became closer.

  • my father got a gun pulled to his head in a bar after dw won a race.

  • Back in the 80s?

  • If I wasn't a Gordon fan, I would be a D.W. fan no doubt.

  • me 2

  • Awesome

  • You're an asshole.

  • @dmtdmt1969 took the words right out of a my mouth, man!

i don't like him, he is annoying as hell on TV, he makes me crank MRN and mute fox.

  • " take away most of his career and he's only average".lol you're funny

  • i bet if they took away all his wins he would be win-less also ... lol

  • so sad

  • Just remember, When your on the top your an easy target. God bless

  • 4:37-----STAR TREK ANYONE???

  • LOL

  • Comment removed

  • I might be the only one that thinks this but Jimmie Johnson reminds me alot of DW back then.

  • yeah after seein this vid he sounds like JJ

  • No. Fuck you and Kyle Busch.

  • God, what are you an athiest? Cuz that's what you sound like.

  • no thanks.... fuck kyle..... thats all the respect youll get from me.

  • DW had 2 good years. 81 and 82. Take those away and he is just average.

  • That could be said of most drivers.... they only had 2,3,4 good years, take that away and they were just average..... Take away 81 and 82 from Waltrip and he would still have 60 wins.... Is that average?

  • yet he won in 85?

  • Yeah....3 races and one cup....average.

Thank you for pointing that out,

    Have a nice life.

  • really cause he would still have 50+ and a championchip retarted fish

  • Yeah that ranks him right there with Elliott. Average.

    Retarded fish??? LOL.

    You are so cute.

  • Part of the reason DW was hated so much -- aside from his attitude early on -- was because the drivers he was racing with (and beating) at that time were the "giants" ... Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, Buddy Baker, etc...and his personality was 180 degrees different from any of theirs. It was like when Wonder Boy came in and started beating old school drivers like Earnhardt and Rusty in the mid '90's.

As for Kyle Busch, sorry, but he's gonna be a punk until he grows up.

  • i agree with you. it's the same with jeff gordon. because he's not from the south and when he came in he was beating well established drivers of that time.

i also agree with you on kyle busch. until he learns to pull his head out of his ass, he'll always be a little pissant.

  • @BSNFabricating im guessing by wonder boy you mean jeff gordon.. am i right?

  • @DialgaRules24

Yep...Earnhardt gave him that nickname. When Gordon came along all the top drivers were in their 30's and 40's, and would start out racing second rate stuff until they impressed a big car owner like Rick Hendrick. Here comes this 21 year old kid driving for Hendrick and winning races right off the bat. It wouldn't be that big a deal now, but it was in '93 and 94...

  • @BSNFabricating yeah.. i guess that nickname suited him well back then.

  • @BSNFabricating

Yea the only difference is he'll never grow up. There is to much money in the sport to make him think he's not mr hot shot and there will never a be a life changing accident in todays cars to make that kid up he'll just be an asshole on camera and throw a hissy fit when he doesn't win some meaningless truck race. Some people change and some never change kyle busch will never change

  • i am so happy that he was able to walk away from that wreck alive and well and i am so happy to se him announce for the great sport of nascar

  • Comment removed

  • Nice video

  • Great video. I hate to see someone get hurt in an accident, but I hope Kyle Bush has a similar turn around after his nasty wreck today in the Coke 400. If he learns to play nicer he could become great fun to watch, like DW was and is now.

  • hoppefully kyle really needs to settele down he thinks he needs every races to be won first he needs to do good in the chase!!

  • he seems like an older jeff gordon because they were both great drivers and people hated them.

  • yo he's my 3rd cousin!

  • WOW!!

  • I like him, he's really neat. He comes to eat lunch at the place where I work with his family. I talk to him from time to time and have gotten to know him a little better! He also has his own Honda dealership out here in TN. Way to go DW

  • i'm not much of a nascar fan but DW is one of my favorite drivers of all time. that sure was a nasty hit though - good thing he wasnt seriously hurt

  • Jesus mike joy was announcing back then too? I saw him interviewing darrell in this video lol .
