  • It frustrates me that there isn't more music like this. Every album on my itunes seems second rate to Loveless.

  • i love the drum machine on this. so cool. awesome light show

  • im playing this on PA speakers (JBL) losing my hearing and loving every second of it

  • Their music is inspiring? To say the least:

This song was played a few times (amongst others) during Tool's recording sessions for their first proper album, "Undertow".

    Nuff said.

  • one of the best songs I've ever heard. Every note is perfect

  • they are awesome live the music sonds almost alike

  • Awesome. Here it's actually true. Does that clip not trip everyone else out? 4 minutes of looping at the end. Of all the gigs and bootlegs I've seen that's the longest. Just take stock of what's happening there - Kevin standing wrapped in rasping, warping, beat-driven fuzz, totally aware of the effect it's having on him and his audience. I don't think I know another musician who is so acutely aware of the impact of their own music - but with no track of arrogance. Unbeatable.

  • I was there.

    That was awesome live!!

  • this song could go on for an hour and i would still be dancing. awesome song

  • @craigmac303 Literally, an hour. (Sorry, I'm a little late with my reply but I agree so much I had to :)

  • If I had a time machine, this would be my first and last stop.

  • Happy Sad Nostalgic Bewildered Euphoric Empty High Thick.

  • Uff, esta canción me vuela los sesos... me transporta a otra dimension.

  • love it

  • i see them tuesday in austin! :)

  • Can't wait to see them!

  • It's really sad the MBV's music has inspire figthing. This song was always being used by rappers in the 90's. Leave it to the shoegazzers!!!

  • Just to let you know: I was reading the 33 1/3 book about Loveless, and Soon was influenced by Hip Hop, so if it wasn't for the rappers, this shoegaze masterpiece would sound very different. Shields also said that his vocal delivery in Slow from the You Made Me Realise EP was influenced by rapping.

So we really shouldn't "leave it to the shoegazers" when the shoegazers were influenced by rap!

  • Good music inspires other good music. This must have been one loud show.

  • omg.. never crossed my mind...

    nice info thx

  • Really? What rap song? Would love to hear the best of both worlds!

  • I can't remember for the life of me. sux!!!

  • was at this gig, fantastic night, still sounds so good today, guitar effects are amazing

  • I was only one year old at the time but I would do sick and twisted things to be able to go back in time to that period at an MBV show.

  • haha me too, it sickens me!!

  • Boy, do they every nail that live.

  • Lovin the hole-filled speaker sound almost as much as the real thing

  • tengo 34 años, los escucho desde el loveless. ¡santa monica!

  • si, muchoo

  • No-one will EVER touch this track. EVER.

  • Christ, that strobe light...seizure city!

  • oh and Kevin was born in N.Y.C.... which is too bad. oh well!

  • but his family is Irish and so is he, MBV were formed in Dublin with Colm.....

  • kevin is from rochester

  • kevin and colm wer in a band 2gether to start but it was kevin and david conway that started MBV

  • Totally psychedelic... amazing! One of my favs <3

  • W dołujący nastrój zawsze mnie to wprawia;/;/

  • Wow - i was AT this gig ....

  • and how timeless it was......

  • wow. must've been amazing. and quite hard on your ears.

    I missed it.

    I wasn't even born at that time.XD

  • Are the drums a machine? The drums sound more mechanised than any of their other songs..

  • That would be Colm working away on the drums.....

  • is he really that tight live?

  • tighter....you can see him working away there,

always comforting to see an Irishman at work don't you think......!?

  • nope, doesnt mean a damn thing to me

i didnt even know he was irish

  • guess you did'nt know the frontman Kevin Shields was either, it's O.K., ignorance is common currency in this realm I find, but for the Irish it would be a crime.....

  • His father is Irish, making him genetically so, and you guessed it, his formative years were spent there, the band being formed there...your police force and fire fighters have a large contingent too, guess you don't care about them either or about the Hudson turning green in the next few weeks....

  • honestly man if you live in nyc youd know to treat the NYPD and FDNY with the highest level of skepticism

  • I have family relations there and know it fairly well but yep, it's a tough city.....

  • where guys experiment with other guys? what the fuck are you talking about? have you ever been to NYC? and are you so homophobic that you make asinine statements like that?

even if NYC was a place where "guys experiment with other guys" thats fine because we treat people equally and with respect, and let them do whatever the fuck they want.

whatever backwards ass city you're from could learn something from New Yorkers.

    you fucking idiot

  • ummm no... L.A is where it's at. i've been to N.Y.C... i hated it there! nothing special. but i love MBV!

  • L.A. sucks donkeys cock..

  • god, you're so dumb.

  • your an idiot. he was born in NYC you fucking moron, go look it up

  • you're quite a fucking idiot, shakeshakedogshake. fucking die.

  • right, so you're homophobic, racist and an anti-semite. i hope you die, you piece of shit, you're using up air.

  • ur a fuckin mornon, ur scum of the earth, i agree with lazer go fuckin die !!!

  • God I love this song!Such good times!

  • When Loveless came out I shared a house with about 15 people and used

to leave this playing, even when I was'nt in....

  • Thats what I like to hear!!!

  • That's fucking trippy man. House with 15 people? Loveless? Fucking trippy. :)

  • at about 5:00 I see an old nurse toting an AK47 assault rifle. Security?

  • the sweet and living Jesus, they are coming BACK. what the hell is going to happen.....

  • and their drummer is Irish too, as we used to say in these kind of circumstances, he would need to be ......

  • awesome performance, even better with the flautist.

this song changed my perception of dance music completely. it has so much emotion, pasion, creativity and futurism.

    a masterpiece

  • Boz Scaggs had a flautist. This band does not.

  • Acttually they did use a flautist for the European part of the tour. I have an issue of Select magazine and they had an article that showed the flute player. On the album it was samples.

  • Wrong.

  • I think I may have replied to the wrong post here. Sorry 'bout that. MBV is brilliant.

  • VAISEFUDER pelamor que lindo

    thanx.

  • thanks alot or this , you made my day

  • Is that a flute player @ 3:03?

  • U on drugs or something?

  • U on drugs or something?

  • If I could give this a sixth star I would. Amazing.

  • Grandes são as idéias......

  • Pure genius, love this song!

  • videon rockar

  • essential. priceless.

  • thanks a lot!! I hope you can upload the whole gig

  • brilliant - many thanks for sharing! the 4+ minute chorus reminds me of how lush and confusing and consuming their shows were - incredibly original and electric ... and without peer.
