  • how do you do that?

  • What is the name of the song?

  • Captions mean words that pop up in a certain language(with the exception of sign language & braille).

  • Could someone please explain to me what the term "captions" on youtube means.

  • where do u get the text file from

  • What do you mean?

    Ian

  • I am hearing impaired and I need subtitles or captioning to know what is said in the videos. I wish that more videos actually had one of these 2 features added to them!

I was born deaf and hate to be excluded from being able to know what is being said in so many videos that are available on this awesome site (youtube). I thank the creators of the CC program on youtube, and I would like to thank all of the video posters who choose to add captions &/or subtitles to their videos! thank you! :-)

  • Because of people like you, I add captions/subtitles to ALL of my videos. I even made a video about this subject. It's not very popular though.

  • don't bother with subtitles... people with hearing impairments, yes I feel for you (very, very mildly), but don't bother with foreign languages... if they want to watch an English video they should learn $*%& english.

  • and u learn spanish, douchebag

  • and yeah.... how bout this, sum people wanna watch anime in japanese cuz it brings out the "tense" of the video by its real owner, therefore people want subtitles to understand, english dubbing just ruins the feeling...

(unless if its made in an english country like spongebob :D) but code geass is japanese

  • But then, it wouldn't be an anime, would it? IT'd be a cartoon.

  • How are the hearing impaired & deaf people going to understand more better if they study the language?

They don't hear better even if they study the language. Ears are the same.

  • YouTube just added a new "Translate" feature. If captions are added at all. All the people need to do is click "CC," click the arrow next to it and click "Translate." They don't need to learn English.

  • That's the PROBLEM... if they want to watch videos that are (in) english they should have to learn english.

  • COSE ABBONI! Finally, I can tell Italians to subscribe!

  • Haha, yeah...but I don't know if that's the proper way of saying it. You should stalk some italian YouTubers and then you'll find out, lol..

  • Pero escribiste mal el español XD

  • I know, I don't speak spanish at all. I used Babel Fish. LOL

  • thanksss man for clearing this out i totally didnt get this =p

  • Neither did we, lol.

  • So these work kind of like annotations right? Where they can be added, edited, and removed?

  • Yeah, except you can't choose where it shows up. Go to any of your videos and choose Add Captions and Subtitles.

  • how do you add it?

  • Go to YouTube's help center. Then interacting with videos. It's pretty complicated but it's worth it.

  • how do i go to it's help ceneter?

  • Click on help at the top-right of the page.

  • ooohh. loldidn't check there

  • Not working yet.
