For anyone that didn't know a fun fact: The "Time machine" was originally going to be a Refrigerator! A DeLorean is MUCH cooler though. SO going to buy one some day.

@Somone77 And a nuclear blast on a testing site was going to generate the force to send the refrigerator BACK TO THE FUTURE. AND some have suggested this cut scene was the inspiration for the "nuke the fridge" scene in Indiana Jones 4! Given Spielberg's involvement with both films, it probably had something to do with it!

This was the very first BTTF trailer ever shown. You can see how the title is all in red, before they changed it later. Also, the road shown here, is the same road they used in the Knight Rider intro. This was first shown winter 1984-early 1985.

Trivia: In the original script for BACK TO THE FUTURE doc was called "Professor Brown", had a monkey named shemp instead of a dog, and the time machine was a laser beam located in an abandoned movie theater powered by coca-cola.

Oh yeah, excuse my mistake. I think Zemekis changed it to a Delorean because he was afraid that kids would (after seeing the movie) would climb in refridgerators and get stuck inside.

Not the original. In the past, the professor/doc rebuilt the time machine for marty to travel in. Problem was, they needed a nuclear blast to fuel it, so they hid the machine and marty inside a refridgerator that was secretly placed onto a test sight, so the blast sent Marty back home, to a more futuristic future, with flying cars.

Great movie. This is one of the first films I can remember seeing and though I'm only thirteen

Back to the Future is still one of my favorite movies. It doesn't rely on the special effects to push the story and it is just purely the entertainment. Movies today kind of overdo it by putting too much computer effects like Transformers. Movies are more about money now then just giving the audience a good time.
