  • His miens, facial expressions, tone of voice are very annoying, and finger pointing is devastating

  • i loved this!!!!

  • Ironic really considering the topic. He was demonstrating how time flow is relative to the locality. In that lecture theatre time passed far slower than anywhere else in the universe.

  • He realised he only had enough material for one lecture so for every second of material he had to verbally pause for 4 seconds.

If I was there I would have kept kicking him back into motion like a broken lawnmower.

  • this lecture series was the most tedious one i've ever seen since i started watching them in 1976 when i was 8 years old.

  • 2007

  • yes his name was tom federick and it was in 2007

  • This xmas lecture is 1999. What was the xmas lecture called.

  • can u upload the crazy kid that ran backwards when the guy was trying to shoot him with a laser gun please thanks tom fedrick his name was thanks again

  • Was it on this series of xmas lecturer?

  • Dear DrMontague!!!! do you have the Number My5teries lecture from 2006??? And if so would you be kind enough to upload it matey?

  • yep.

  • I'm sure the 'Christmas Lectures' would be a far too OFFENSIVE title these days...

Maybe the 'Holiday Lectures' or the 'We've Lost Our Identity Lectures'

  • Not at all even today they're are still called The Royal Institution of Christmas Lectures. I think you are getting sucked in by capitalist media propaganda that constantly brainwashes the populace that we are now aliens in our own white country.

  • it's a normal reaction I hope :P

  • Try it, cunt.

  • Only if your identity is tied to Bronze Age mythology.

  • I'd stop reading the Daily Mail if I were you

  • What a fascinating intro. Also, side note, we geographers where the first to make compact precise instruments to measure time, but used them to measure longitude. The story of Harrisons clocks is wonderful. Well, technically Harrison I dont think was a "geographer" but whatever.

  • Another excellent lecture series uploaded by Dr. Montague. Thanks!

  • His constant finger pointing is irritating. I think he is nervous because it was the first lecture. He does appear much calmer and relaxed over the next four lectures, certainly there's much less finger pointing.

  • Generally, younger speakers with a need to emphasize do finger pointing during discussions. It tends to be a lack of confidence in their own voice. So yes, I agree. It's his inexperience.

  • Dr Neil Johnson is a hard man to watch. Quite irritating.

  • Sounds fine to me. Check your settings. Remember this is Proper English not your Yank stuff that YouTube is full of :)

  • It's the spikes in the audio. Certain frequencies are harder than others.

  • audio seems a bit too electronic if you understand what i mean.

  • I got a good few to upload. Got them all. But youtube is so fn to upload.

  • Mass indeed!

  • will i be lucky enough to see more of these?

  • lets hope, it just started to become interesting :)

  • It's meant to be Xmas lecture.

  • thank you so much for all those Videos!!!!

    they are really appreciated.
