Ironic really considering the topic. He was demonstrating how time flow is relative to the locality. In that lecture theatre time passed far slower than anywhere else in the universe.
can u upload the crazy kid that ran backwards when the guy was trying to shoot him with a laser gun please thanks tom fedrick his name was thanks again
Not at all even today they're are still called The Royal Institution of Christmas Lectures. I think you are getting sucked in by capitalist media propaganda that constantly brainwashes the populace that we are now aliens in our own white country.
What a fascinating intro. Also, side note, we geographers where the first to make compact precise instruments to measure time, but used them to measure longitude. The story of Harrisons clocks is wonderful. Well, technically Harrison I dont think was a "geographer" but whatever.
His constant finger pointing is irritating. I think he is nervous because it was the first lecture. He does appear much calmer and relaxed over the next four lectures, certainly there's much less finger pointing.
Generally, younger speakers with a need to emphasize do finger pointing during discussions. It tends to be a lack of confidence in their own voice. So yes, I agree. It's his inexperience.
His miens, facial expressions, tone of voice are very annoying, and finger pointing is devastating

He realised he only had enough material for one lecture so for every second of material he had to verbally pause for 4 seconds.
If I was there I would have kept kicking him back into motion like a broken lawnmower.

this lecture series was the most tedious one i've ever seen since i started watching them in 1976 when i was 8 years old.

I'm sure the 'Christmas Lectures' would be a far too OFFENSIVE title these days...
Maybe the 'Holiday Lectures' or the 'We've Lost Our Identity Lectures'
