I'm currently attending Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts and getting a Master's in Special Education grades Prk - 8.
When, after two more semesters, I get my degree and go on to teach, I would love to use these videos in my class, they are easy to understand and nicely phrased. However, I'm not sure I'll be able to include the bits and Noah's flood getting it wrong because It may conflict with some student's beliefs and I could lose my job, or ever my licence if they reported me.

I always enjoyed hearing the religious references in science. "Here is what people use to think because of what it said in the Bible, here is what they really found". However, in some cases you can see how people could think of it that way, as in the earth being flat. It just shows that things aren't always as they seem at first glance. The practices of science help to weed out the coincidences that lead our thinking astray.

well, yes, technically the planet is still growing because the process of accretion is still going. the only problem with that guy ur mentioning is that the amounts of matter falling to the Earth are so small compared to the Earth, that the addition of their mass is negligible to planetary growth; it certainly is nowhere near enough to cause plate movement. that guy is using creationist-type logic.

1) How did everything on the ark survive for so long at such a high altitude? i.e. cold temp. and lack of oxygen

4) Even though the ship was huge, how did they store food? Meat won't last a year

@xchris1800 1) At the altitude that they were floating at, due to atmospheric pressure, it would have been very cold and not much oxygen.
2) I stated that salinity levels would have changed drastically due to salt and fresh water mixing if there were a global flood.
3) They were not connected at that time and haven't been for a VERY long time
4) Almost all animals are omnivores, you're correct but, some due need meat to survive

I don't think it's intended for six year olds.
Once kid gets to 12 however they are well aware of death and will be familiar with that type of image from films and tv. I think you see more death in newspapers and on teh TV news. Apart from that it illustrates the point perfectly.

I always enjoyed hearing the religious references in science. "Here is what people use to think because of what it said in the Bible, here is what they really found". However, in some cases you can see how people could think of it that way, as in the earth being flat. It just shows that things aren't always as they seem at first glance. The practices of science help to weed out the coincidences that lead our thinking astray.

A Darwinist is a creationist word, like evolutionist. The idea is that we do not accept the theory of evolution on its merits, but rather on the authority of the person who came up with it (not researching it ourselves). As we all know, people are flawed, so they have a foot in the door to attack the theory by attacking the man, or say we're blind followers (the irony). Same with "evolutionist", we would seem to accept the authority of the theory, rather than the evidence.

Change on the scale of species is so gradual that there probably wouldn't be any point where you could say "this is a chicken but it's parents weren't".
But I agree that the egg came first, and not just because there were eggs before birds. Unless anyone knows another way chickens can grow I would think the egg would have to come before any chickens.

I don't know if he plans on doing a video on it, but Pangaea is fact... in the distant past the continents were all part of one giant one, and there's a lot of evidence to support it... plant fossils in Antarctica that are the same as fossils found in the south of Africa, Australia, and South America for example. In billions of more years, the continents will eventually drift back together.

Pangea is a theory, but it's pretty well established and can be regarded as a fact in the non-scientific use of the word. It is also not unusual. There were around five "supercontinents" during the Earth's history, Pangea merely being the most recent. No plans for a video.

Picture two - collapsed bridge. need I say more? it's obviously an earthquake.
Picture 3 - objects spread and distributed all around the ground. It's a pretty rocky area, and I can't think of such an area that has tornadoes. It must be a flood.
Picture 4 - Objects stuck in palm trees. water everywhere. First thing I think of is a hurricane.

Ask him how the earth grew. I understand he thinks it's more massive than it used to be (otherwise Pterosaurs could not fly since gravity would be too strong) so ask him where the mass/energy came from to quadruple the mass of the earth (about 4 times the energy needed to make it grow).
Finally, he thinks that this proves most of Physics is wrong. Well, OK, fine. But Occam's razor suggests it's more likely that most of Physics proves him wrong. :)

well, yes, technically the planet is still growing because the process of accretion is still going. the only problem with that guy ur mentioning is that the amounts of matter falling to the Earth are so small compared to the Earth, that the addition of their mass is negligible to planetary growth; it certainly is nowhere near enough to cause plate movement. that guy is using creationist-type logic.
