  • Great tutorial! I really appreciate it

  • Thanks dude, very clear and concise.

  • never mind

  • wont let me change the format from mfx sony vegas

  • Hi, thank you, do you think the mp4 is better quality than an quicklime video?

  • Why does the sound still come out from my music video?

  • Thanks man!

  • Thanks a lot for this. very easy to understand.

  • Super helpful, thanks a ton

  • I still have a pixely looking vid, it looks better than before but doesn't have that smooth look, check out the carnival vid on the channel, I shoot SD on MiniDV what the hell can I do....

  • Heres youtube's description of how to upload from fcp, I am wondering if your method works better, please let me know thanks.

In the Video section select the following:

    Compression Type: H264

    Frame Rate: 30

    Data Rate: Automatic

(if you choose to restrict the Data Rate, make sure to choose the highest value acceptable to you — more bits means better quality)

    Key Frames: Automatic

    Frame Reording: Unchecked

  • @FILMANDEDIT They both seem to be about the same, with the exception of the Data Rate. I like to set my manually to ensure I get the best quality. With automatic, it could possibly give you a low rate, resulting in lower quality. I've found that 4,000-6,000 seems to work really well. Of course, you can go higher, but it will still depend on your camera quality. It can't make the recorded quality better, just the rendered quality. So I'd say 4,000-6,000 works best.

  • @7thDayFilms I am taking footage from dvd's, exporting them to quicktime dv ntsc 48khz, editing it then exporting it for youtube, what would you suggest I use as data rate?

  • Thanks so much. I am copying your instructions verbatim so hopefully my upload looks as good as yours!

  • man thanks so much i did everything, nice dude.

  • thank you!

  • thnks man. u r one of the few ppl on youtube that actually like to help ppl out and not with those crappy unhelpful tutorial!!!!

  • HELPED ME SOO MUCH!

  • simple but toooooo much useful!! thank you so much..

  • Just tried rendering my video and it came out to 41 GB...

  • @FHSiNSaNiiTy :O hahah that sucks

  • even though I was using Sony Vegas Pro 9

the only thing that helped me was the size

    thx~

  • After exporting, the video becomes out of synch with the audio. any idea why this might be happening? thanks

  • The returned a faster-processed movie of much smaller size than some other formats.

HOWEVER, the bright, overmodulated video had dropouts, especially with special effects. I can't use this. I found the H.264 compression more stable, though it does return a larger-sized movie.

  • You helped me so much tnk u man...if i will need more help as u already said i will contact you

  • make 1 for sony vegas 10

  • thanks bus helped a lot.

I was using logic to bounce an audio file, was having huge issues with going directly to MP 3. switched to 192 aiff then exported to MP4 in final cut. fixed the issue.

  • my videos i render are over 10gigs. why is this

  • Much thanks man! this has been very very helpful

  • mine has black bars on top and bottom. why?

  • dam, the file size was a LOT smaller, but the final product was interlaced where as the .mov file was not interlaced and the de-interlace box went unchecked. in the mpe4 hd setting there is no de-interlace box to check...

  • a tutorial for sony vegas 9 would be really appreciated. i cant figure out what to render my video as to put on youtube. first i rendered as .avi and it was like a 2 gig video. so im a little lost, and the forums arent helping.

  • @eenad use wmv or mp4.

  • @desetnik15second

    wmv quality sucks for 1080p

avi. has the best quality but 5 minutes costs me 29 gb

  • @dierenfreak10 yeah goddamn avi is so huge, and uploading to youtube! NO WAY! haha i use HDV in mpeg-2 because it gives good quality at a low size.

  • @eenad Can you help me?

It seems you get your video to render but when I try to render it for YouTube it estimates the time at 17,18 hours and just stays at 0 %

    What to do?

I tried to render it as wmv file and it's not HD.

    Thanks
