I have done it all.

You can get out of the map toward the start of the level, but you'll need a ghost.

You can go right to the opposite side of the HUGE lake. You can also pass the water 'kill barrier' out there so you can go into the lake. Its also possible to do this in a tank, not that there is anything out there but hey. You can also go to the highest hill you see aswell. Pretty cool!

Theres more than one way to get up around the mountains... I just take a ghost up the side of the mountain after you kill the wraiths on the bridge. On quaratine zone you can climb up one of the mountain sides and see the whole game laid out, and the first song by disciple rocks!!! Thats my favorite christain band!!!
