  • Something this terrible cannot be allowed to happen again... yet everyday I hear such awful things that I fear we are on this road again...

Never forget... le'olam lo eshkach ..

  • Dzięki Sławo, że to zaśpiewałaś, dzięki Jurku, że to wrzuciłeś, bo -wstyd powiedzieć- ale współobywatele zdają się zapominać...

  • Historical facts that must never be forgotten by all of us !!

No more Wars , no more ghettos , no more pain and torments !!! Peace and love for all people !!

  • Przejmujące.

  • If somebody could find drawings by Bronislaw Linke devoted to the Ghetto uprising, that would provide a great visual side for the song...

I bought Linke's album called Stones Are Crying Out (sorry, cannot spell correct Polish) in 1973 in Kharkov, then USSR, but the book got lost after so many moves...

Thanks very much, pane Jurek. I didn't realize that Przybylska was also interested in things Jewish. I liked her a lot before learning this, too.

  • Judging by the title you give here in Eglish , in Polish that might be "Kamienie krzyczą" or "Kamienie płaczą".

She made many recordings and recitals devoted to Jewish musical legacy/

    Thank you.

  • There was a carousel on the Aryan side right next to the wall and Poles were having fun while the ghetto was on fire.

  • Now that minor (!) thing - made for a few people mostly uncoscious, arises to the symbol of an extra Jew-martyrology, in SOME - limited - minds, Sir.

  • Was Czeslaw Milosz narrow-minded when he wrote Campo di Fiori?

  • No, HE was not ! And the poem is great.

Narrow-minded are those who wants - by force - to use this thing for symplifying and generalizing the history.

By the way: I am a Pole and I am the author of the present video; like many other on my channel - they are devoted to Jews who lost their lives on "my grounds".

I am afraid by your tone, that it will not tell you... anything.

  • and many Poles got killed for helping the Jews

  • dzieki tym ktorzy pamietaja

  • Dear Jurek,

I have been away and missed this story. Unbearable and wonderful. Bless you.

  • They made an uprising, because they wanted to leave this world with honor. Polish "undergroud" forces helped them a lot, with: ammunition, guns and technology. Also some soldiers from Polish forces supported them in battle.

Indeed, all of them died with honor.

  • Not all of them died, some of them are still living today.

  • "Also some soldiers from Polish forces supported them in battle."

    What planet are you from?

  • it's completely accurate, small groups of polish ,usually ex-officiers fought lonside the insurgent, inside or outside the wall.

And several hundred jews fought with the polls during the warsaw uprising(1944).

  • ..Jews fought with the Polls during Warsaw uprising???What Jews was there any left? you are a idiot !!! go and bother somebody ells

  • oczywiscie ze byli Żydzi w AK, zamiast sie madrzyc moze doczytac warto...

  • but they did

  • Read Edelmans memmories, discuss later, true some of AK members fougt WITH the Jews, and Mark Edelman himself fought in the Warsaw Uprising WITH the Poles

  • Strikingly moving. What else can be said? Thank you for this posting.

  • Chills ran through my spine when listening to the cry/song.

  • très émouvant ce chant en yiddish sur cette image fixe. Très poignant

    Merci

  • Incredibly moving and poignant interpretation in its extreme simplicity of an a cappella rendition.

  • Yes, a cappella; any sound extra would be redundant, an intrusion.

    Thanks.

  • Dziękuję.

  • there are no words to describe the horror

  • Except for the ones that are being sung

  • Excellent simple and as stirring a version of this song as the accompanying photo. "My God, why have you forsaken me? Day and night I beg you to save me from the murderous enemies, and you ignore me. Hear my plea and save me!" Thanks J!

  • A terrible atrocity. This should have never happened! Very sad and moving presentation.

  • Very moving rendition of Eli, Eli..These

recordings of Slawa Przybylska should become

    available in CD.

  • A CD "Alef Bejs" from which I took previous two songs (actually from its first edition) has just been reedited.

The present one, as I informed, only on a 2 cassettes album (there was some problem to get the sound of it, finally I managed).
