  • I tried this, now I would like to sell my Z3 check it out in my videos only $4500

  • おっちゃんなかなか良い腕してますなー。

  • I have the 2.8 liter z3, its easy to drift and do doughnuts

  • if you need this tutorial you probably shouldn't try any of it.

  • of course bibendum was smileing...

  • I had one of these cars and hated the handling - it was nasty, you sat on top of the rear wheels and had no feedback from the back end. Chassis was ultimately too short.

  • what a lovely classic design of this car...very stylish as all the roadsters are.

    Powerful and beautiful...

  • nou relts ment Z3

  • It's actually called a doughnut because that's what you'll be leaving with on instead of your the real wheels.

  • I have one of these but would never abuse it like this this is how you hurt your perfectly good car. And ya it is a rocket 99 M3 engine but a lot lighter...it flies

  • @IdrankSUPERglue agreed...I have one too...welll "had" one...just traded in today (heavy heart!) for a forrester...but it was an incredibly fun car to drive and own!

  • guarda come pendolo....(doppio testa coda sul dritto)

  • is this top gear?

  • Tires? What tires?

  • buen video aora a practicar

  • The //M Roadster is truly a remarkable car. My wife and I purchased a 2000 //M Roadster in 2006 for $27.5k with 8k miles. It has been a REMARKABLE car for us. We'll probably NEVER own a vehicle as fun as this again. We have an 18 month old son now, so we are unfortunately going to sell it soon and replace it with an X3.

We have ~34,000 miles today, and have LOVED every minute of owning this car.

It really has been an honor.

  • bravo

  • my favorite quote: "it's easy when you know how."

  • If I have the money, I'd spend it on buying a z3 M coupe for everyday use and z3 M roadster for the weekends or just pop out to the shops. I don't care if they call me a hairdresser. I think this is more of a man's car since you don't get that fancy stuff you get in the SLK (the first generation one).

  • So, I have one of these and would never do this shit to my Z3 M. I don't understand the appeal but DO like to drive fast on a straight road, and I do as such. Bliss.

  • He forgot to mention that you need RWD for donuts. That helps a bit. The M roadster is a serious machine, and it is a fun car to drive. The weight makes for a smooth ride. It has so many options that Corvette and others did not have. Its a wonderful car.

  • bah...z3 m has LSD...on a normal z3 (in particular 4-cylinders) it s impossible to make a doughnut just starting, it needs a weight transfer...and the car it s really...really more nervous

  • i have 1.9 4cylinder and i can do that :-) ... but to be honest i have also 25% LSD

  • is possible, is possible...

  • no..neither on wet..torque is put down in a terrible way and masses deplacement isn t optimal to make that without aid..moreover first speed isn t long enough to decharge power this way without LSD..while 2nd is too long to create a reaction like that just starting with so few torque..and clutch can t totally help you...(and heats in a few times on this car..) i have one...limited edition british racing green 1999

  • hmmm you probably could if u got a supercharged 4cyl. thts what ive got but never tried it b4. i baby my z too much lol

  • supercharged stock z3 doesn t exist;) just in USA some tuner could ruin a car this way..it has no meaning..moreover theu supercharger or the turbo would compromise the already strange and complicated weight distribution of this car...increasing the understeer for example...if you wanna have better specifical buy the M..with another suspension system..,or the 3.0....don t waste money with this rubbish..it s not the right car..

  • wasnt meaning stock, and not if u get it done at tha dealer wit ha bmw supercharger kit the kits been in mine since 2000 and had zip problems with it. and it jus adds more weight to the front making it lighter on the its back tires. actually ive compared mine to the regular stock 2.8 liter 6 cylinder and mine seems to be faster on the get go. it gets to 60 in under 7 seconds.

  • I think my 2.8 gets to 60 in about 6.5 seconds. How much did your kit cost?

  • when i bought it the people had it done at about 50,000 or 60,000 miles, and its got 75,000 now. it was a special kit for the z3s with instalation and everything it costed 3,000 even. but it went from 0-60 in bout 9 secs to 0-60 in under 6.5, and added 77 horesepower. so it jumped from 148hp to 225hp.

  • is it possible to flip your car when doing this???????? becauce my bmw has soft suspension and it leans over i dont or maybe it feels like that because its the first time i tried. i was going full speed into reverse and tried to turn my front to the back. a J/turn they call it i believe of course im practicing on perfect asfalt

    thx for the replys

  • thanks for leason i will try

  • i'm seriously debating between a z3 and a z4. But yet again the z3 does have the upper hand on class and originality.

  • I got my z3 yesterday. OMG.

  • Nice car!and nice review

  • ja om man e 18 år så åker man SAAB eller Volvo med hemtrim, väx upp för fan!

  • I just bought one!!! A 2001 3.0..perfect condition, 40k miles, spotless, topaz blue, automatic (hey, I live in the city) loaded!....traded in my 2001 Honda CRV for it...I love it!!! Don't regret my purchase for a minute. I still am pinching myself when I pop the top and drive it. My Fiance is none to happy but told her I would sell it when we have our 1st child. (of course, I was crossing my fingers behind my back when I said that). No "donuting" for me..just lots of driving fun!!

  • beautiful car - the last of the good looking beamers

  • my dad bought me today this car,..yea!!!!!!!!

i ll stop drifting with my ford now..and hmmm

donuts and burnouts are for fat idiots who wanna impress their friends..the real driver can be revealed from the drifting techniques while he turns in a street in the city..neither in open areas..u gotta control it and fkin yea!!! i love drifting!!!

  • Too bad the coupes are hard to find. This is a hairdresser's car.

  • The Coupés are massively over-priced.

  • I agree..who the fuck would want a Coupe??

  • someone who wants a real sports car

  • Comment removed

  • lawl lol!! lots of revs!lol michelin man rocks

  • I love my Z3 :-)

This little turtorial helped me in making little drifts.

  • i wont buy his cas second hand :)

  • It's alright for him, he doesn't have to pay for the tyres.

  • Tiff is a former GT driver, he knows how to drive well. 360 is fucking hard you have to turn your foot to tap footbrake then hit the clutch to lower gear/

  • anyone interested... 2000 M Roadster 12k miles FLAWLESS for sale in Maryland-- Dinan intake, exhaust, and software. Spotless condition, not a single piece of dirt on the car. let me know if you're interested..

  • how much?

  • no doubt how much please?

  • Message me for a link to pictures..

Make me an offer. I have until April 26th to sell this car so I'm not really in a hurry.. just thought I would see if I could spark some interest out there. It bluebooks for $12,125 but this car is rare and is in pristine condition. Thanks

  • the Z3 and Z3M roadsters are remarkable in design. To bad the current Z4 isn't so beautiful.. how ever, the new type Z4 series are coming close to the Z3 series.

  • I disagree. This car is beautiful

  • Hmmm, the Z3 isn't the prettiest car on the road but the Z4 looks like a tug in comparison - BMW's recent styling gone mad - uglier still is the new Z9 (pass the bucket).

Now, the Z8 is truly beautiful and the Z7 is a close second.

  • the z3 m coupe is a brutal sexy car, z4 looks like shit, with its shitty door lines

  • the z3 looks like a miata that someone through some bubble rear end on. the body lines are just retarded looking. the z4 has nice sharp lines. i think more ppl agree, notice your negative thumbs down...

  • LOL! Of course you are wrong...I guess the PC thing to say would be "to each his their own" but ...um...your just plain wrong! The Z3 is the true roadster appearance. I love my Z3 and would never buy a Z4.

  • bluedavenger says "ok have fun with ugly slow ass car" and "the z3 looks like a miata with a wider rear end" I guess my 1st question is, are you blind?? 2nd, my 3.0 Z3 has 225hp. A turbocharged Saab has 210hp. Most enthusiasts agree that the z3 is a true and quintessential roadster..for the record, I never said my Z3 was a sports car (even though most would say it is), but I see it as a powerful and beautiful roadster. Have fun in your Saab..my grandmother has one and it's just right for her!

  • My car is upgrade to stage 6. Even though i have beat some z3 stock. Alot but not all z3 drivers i come across think thier car is a sportscar and mine isnt. its an 04(not the old ugly ones)Aero SS(sport sedan). I just think the z4 is better on every level. I guess whatever floats your boat, go for it. I did like how awsome my friends would drift w/o having to put any mods on it. Well besides new tires evry week...

  • WOW meant to say i have stage 2 upgrade from BSR and had to get the rest done by Maptun since BSR isnt in America. But whocares, anyways im def. not blind. I have seen a miata parked next to my friends z3(when he had it) and i walked to the miatas door cause i thought it was his car. they look so much alike And second when my car was stock i still beat some z3's on the highway dont know how though since on paper the z3 is suppose to be faster, but then again they could have been the 1.9l POS z3

  • Hey blue ...no worries ..to each their own..sounds like you have a nice ride...enjoy! Maybe I'll take another look at the Z4 one day and buy one..they are sharp cars.

  • thank you, i love my sleeper. Maybe ill actually drive a z4 and see if it really is more fun to drive than the z3. b/c honestly i had a ball in my friends.

  • Z3 makes me more happy then the Z4. How ever the 2009 version is doable.

  • My feeling is that BMW may one day bring the z3 back into production, with a few changes but keep the classic Roadster look.

  • And that would be the new z4. It actually resembles more of the z3 due to it's facelift compared to the 1st z4 but I think the z3 will always be the better car since you can have fun with it and don't have to worry about how many settings do you want. It's as complicated as wood. I think it's pretty much like the Mazda Miata only a bit better looking.

  • I was thinking the same last night...

  • the z3 is in fact, a homosexual car. I had one and one night I went into the garage, and my bycycle was doing it in the tailpipe. wtf

  • rofl !

  • haha he rides on the wrong side of the road

  • What a great job!

  • got i love tiff, he is too fucking awesome

  • I just got a 2000 BMW Z3 on Saturday... with only 12,000 miles!! :)

  • lol it's prob been clocked! 12000 divided by 8 = 1500 miles a year?!!!? 28 miles a week?? lol

  • And how do you know HenryGarcia7714 didn't find a 2000 BMW Z3 with only 12,000 miles?

There are plenty of low mileage Z3 examples out as many are kept in the garage and used only for weekends etc. Yeah it is very low mileage for 2000 reg car but that doesn't automatically mean it isn't true.

There is 1992 Lancia Delta Evo 2 for sale on Pistonheads with 1,200 miles on the clock!!!

  • the man who sold the car is partying madly all night.that car was 200000 km. look at the dirt on shifter :)

  • I just drove a z3 m roadster for the first time the other day on some b roads. What a fun little car to drive. I bet its even better on a track. And with that big flat six, it screams with joy!

  • its a straight 6 ;)

  • I have a '98 Z3. I love every minute of driving it. Doesn't have the greatest horsepower to it, but the standards, apart from the M's, aren't meant to have the horsepower. My cuz. had a Z3M...there was diff. in handling and power, but the over all feeling (i.e. adrenaline rush, sophistication, and hair splitting pwer) came standard with the Z3. What a great car. I have a '76 450SL in the garg. too, two fun cars to have.

  • I hav a 2004 saab 9-3(a four door stock) and i beat this bmw z3 sportscar in a race four times last night on the highway. first we did a roll at 20, then 40, then 60 and i beat him on everyone. this z3 is a big waste of money. saab>bmw

  • OMG A TURBO CAR BEAT A N/A ROADSTER!!!! CALL THE PRESIDENT!!!

    you fail...

  • You beat an Z3 M Roadster in a Saab 9-3, you're talking through your arse. I noticed how you refered to 'this' BMW Z3 sportscar. Because this BMW Z3 is an 'M'-Roadster.

    What you probably came up against was a 1.9, a 2.5 or even a 2.8 Z3. You wouldn't touch a 3.2 Z3-M in a Saab 9-3.

    My standard 1996 Volvo 850 T5 would rip your 2004 9-3 a new arsehole but it still wouldn't touch a Z3 M-Roadster.

  • I do appreciate your point, however, you did say you beat 'this' Z3 and not 'a' Z3. I admit they all look similar but the 3.2 M-Roadster is an entry level supercar where as the 1.9 version barely even qualifies as an entry level sports car. So yeah of course your Saab 9-3 will eat the 1.9 version alive. I remember killing off a 1.9 Roasdster in my old mk2 Golf GTi and thinking how sad you would have to be to purchase such a useless piece of "pseudo-sports car".

  • @bluedavenger : idiot... z3 M has 321HP and you beat an z3 1.9 roadster with 118hp.... saab>bmw ???? lol saab=opel.... BMW=AUDI=MERCEDES ...

  • @streetfighterdothu LOL what are you 4? commenting on something i said over a year ago...too bad you have NO clue who i raced or how many z3's i have beat, and yes a few were the ugly ass hatch z3m. I dont even own that saab anymore, i was hit by a drunk driver, i got an evo X right now. All stock, and likes to drink gas so ill prob keep it that way.

  • @streetfighterdothu correction bmw 1.9 has 138 stock. 1.8 has 188 hp

  • @setho1993sso :

    1.9 8v M43TUB19 1.9 L (1895 cc/115 in³) 87 kW (118 hp) @ 5500 180 N·m (133 ft·lbf) @ 3900

    1.9 16v M44B19 1.9 L (1896 cc/115 in³) 103 kW (138 hp) @ 6000 180 N·m (133 ft·lbf) @ 4300

  • @streetfighterdothu i thought we were referring to the m44 1.9. m43 is not available in the Z3 in the U.S.

  • Ok, I have a question: Are the 1997 BMW Z3's that were made in the USA have an automatic convertible top or is it manual?

  • manual mostly, some of the newer ones have an automatic top

  • Ok, thanks. ;)

  • np, i wish they would all have a standard automatic top, they are BMW's.

  • Bet he had to change out the tires after this video

  • wrong, but ok.

  • I'm a huge fan of the old M Roadster, esp when compared with the new Z4 M, which I just can't find attractive no matter how hard I squint at it.

  • yeah,just bought a z3m because i cant stand the angular slabsided z4

  • amazing video for M Roadster/Coupe fans

  • e30 coupe is z3

  • e30's were made from 84 to 91, the z3 started in late 90's, the body code is deffinitly NOT e30

  • E36 actually...

  • there goes your tires/clutch

  • Z3s are the bessttttttttttttttttttt. i love em to tears. i thought z3s were only made in the states? atleast thats what ive heard from tiff needel in his review of the z3. z4 is "cute" but it doesnt quite look like a traditional bmw.

  • Yeah I think Z3s were only produced from the BMW factory near Atlanta. hence a building quality that's not so german. But who cares...the Z3 M is just a new cobra: a truly great rubber burner. the coupe is the one for me.

  • MADE IN GERMANY ;)

  • ya prefer the Z3 styling to the Z4 too

  • I have a Z3 M roaster and it's really very ,very fast.

Last a guy with a Maseratti Grand Sport spider challenged my roadster at the red lights. He was very surprised he could not get away from me .

The new Z4 M is even quicker and has 20 hp more. The Z4 M coupe is a very nice one.

The Z3 M is even a little faster then the normal M3.

  • yeah its a nice engine

  • actually i was own e46 m3 ,, its working , and i did donuts and powerslide , but i didnt even think about 360 ..! its 70mph = 110km , im scare , but if i find a place like the one he was doing the 360 in .. ill try , but i didnt find untill now :(

  • Anyone know if this is possible with an Automatic lower-horsepower model? Has tiptronic shifting, though I doubt that matters.

Other than the fact that it's automatic, my biggest concern is that the torque on the car is too low to cause instant slipping of the wheels. The M, if you go full throttle from 0, you can burn out. I can't do it with mine. :(

  • If your trying donuts, it's probably possible, just use tiptronic to put it in first, turn off DSC, turn the wheels, and while your foot is on the brake, use the throttle to build up revs. It should work, but I'm not positive.

  • Yeah I can do donuts. I was wondering about the 360.

  • You can give it a shot but your z3 is really nothing like the M Power z3. Different suspension motor and everything really. The z3 is a pooch compared to the m.

  • Yeah, I know. :( I have the M steering wheel upgrade. That makes me feel a bit better. Hehe. I have too many problems recovering from a fishtail with mine. I think I'll just wait a bit and upgrade to an M. I prefer the Z3 styling to the Z4 anyway.

  • We had the first z3m in minnesota and wisconsin. we only had it for about two weeks before we sold it to a hardcore m nut. got the e55 after that one but it was fun for a little car. hope you get your m soon! the wide rear will help you tail it!

  • Do I really want to buy a Z3?

  • Z3 is pretty hot. If you have the money, make sure you get the M model though. I don't have the M...wish I did. But it'd mean many speeding tickets for me. :P Besides, all the Z's feel powerful.

  • i can´t wait for try with my z3!!!

    (From: Argentine/Japan)

  • ha nice i own a BMW Z3 M Coupe same car really just more power hee hee im off out for a spin (literally lol)

  • It doesn't have more power. Just more weight

  • which helps it handle better through lack of chassis twist

  • ...which never really was a problem on the notoriously well handling M Roadster. Particularly after fitting a front strut brace, and upper and lower strutbrace at the rear. Add to that thicker anti-roll bars and thicker drop links, all round fully adjustable coilovers. Handlig isn't really an issue for me. Take it you haven't been on many track days.

Face it. Your first comment is just plain wrong!

  • That guy is a beast!

  • good car good driver

  • i cant wait for spring to find an airstrip to test out my M!

  • sweet, man that guy is so bad ass,

what airfield do they let u practice that at?

  • BMW is the best

  • yeah, nice

  • great video
