Looks great! I think you are on the right track for a clock! Create a compound pulley and suspend from the ceiling. You could have posterboard or wood on the wall and mark the time based on the current rate. The weight then indicates the time. Instant clock!
In theory yes, touble is it takes so much weight to get the thing going it last about 20 seconds on a three foot drop....But the idea is there, thanks for the input.
There's no need for a practical use--it's a work of art!

Well it might be one day, i have an idea to make a ticking mechine, sort of a clock without the real function.

Some old MDF i had. The others bits are brass rod. I still cant think what to use the whole thing for though!
