  • Now we know who inspired MC Hammer to wear sparkling golden pants.

  • Yes, this in fact ABBA on meth.

  • How can you not like Dschinghis Khan? If they were around today they could easily sell out Madison Square Garden.

  • ¿hm.? ,¿ power rangers alemanes?

  • the 9 people that dislike the song are Chinese.

  • i heard the japanese cover first then this and its actually a pretty good song too, i love it :)

  • @borneoSnake Yes. Japanese version by Berryz Koubou - "Jingisukan".

  • @c104k The only Japanese version I have heard of this was from SMAP, from a concert waaaaay back in the 1990s. This Berryz Koubou version must be new. (also makes one wonder why such songs find such popularity in Japan...)

  • Needs MOAR lens flare and weird close up angles angle!

  • It's an assurance that if I never master the awesome Moskau dance, I can always do the easier but very addicting Dschinghis Khan dance, assuming I'm not doing Louis Potgieter's dance moves :P

  • this is so awesome song

  • I can imagine them singing this song at his funeral, so sad =(

  • Hope they won !

  • how did Keith Stone get in there? He's so smooth. Always.

  • @portgseninja92 Hey, he died of AIDS in 1993, which adds more comedic value to the whole thing. Be nice, mister.

  • 0:36 for the song.

  • @portgseninja92 Actually it's not the Burger King himself, actually his Mongolian Cousin, DSCHINGHIS KHAN!

  • Mongolian folk rock group with a couple of hot white chicks?

  • This was William Murderface's first band

  • esta musica me traz lindas recordaçoes

  • @Everyman1337 So you have a sour cabbage in your leather pants?

  • KHAAAAAAN!!

  • The lead dancer looks like the Master from old school Dr. Who.

  • Love this song!!

    1979

  • the Girl in white is from the Netherlands

  • How id is possible to not like this? IT MAKES YOU SO HAPPY

  • Blah! I'd rather watch a bunch of teenage Japanese girls do this song. GO BERRYZ KOUBOU!!!

  • @300Spartans Japs are faggots.

  • @300Spartans Their voices aren't as strong, lacks the impact of the original

  • Jack sparrow and dr evil unite

  • Dude... I WANNA DANCE LIKE HIM! (Or atleast dance like this at homecoming XD)

  • OH BABY

  • WOULD OV HATED 2 BE A BARBER IN THE 70'S..I WOULD HAVE BEEN FLAT BROKE.

  • JUST DANCE 3!!!!

  • .. Thomas Gottschalk...

    o_o

  • Taking awesome to a whole new level, can't put into words just how amazing this actually is.

  • It's a shame that this band was formed in 79. They would have been international stars if they rose today. =(

P.S.: I love how Steve Bender (the alien-looking guy) always messes up the choreography in almost all their videos. :))

  • 3:25 :X

  • Great! And the girl in white was a beauty!

  • @kissinpoika they're a german group.

  • The Gotovina affair smells bad as thou some buying has been attempted. Stupid. This will only wake up the Ustascha once again. I know about this, from the elders, because Im a Finn.

  • Mongolenholen.

  • 3 people didnt ride the fastets horses

  • EPIC.

  • Hong Kong has a conversion too

  • ongelooflijk mooi

  • Why is it that only in Finnish and Japanese pop culture this song has had it conversion to national language and lives as a cultural icon?

  • @Imphipis The only 2 countries dumb enough maybe?

  • @kawiie No thats not it.

  • @Imphipis

There is a swedish version as well. With a group called Vikingarna.

  • @Imphipis it was a HUGE hit in Israel too XD

  • @Imphipis Because the only reason it gets exposure in America is because people like to laugh at it.

  • @Imphipis sweden too, vikingarna with kickass christer sjögren singing (which ironically enough is huge in germany).

  • @Imphipis not true! the yiddish version by mordechai ben david is a staple at jewish weddings. it's called "yidden."

  • @Imphipis

You can add Swedish I'm afraid. Both "Vikingarna" and "Larz Kristerz" stepped into imortality by doing covers of this classic.

  • @Imphipis There is Hong Kong Cantonese version too.. Both this one and Moscau

  • @Imphipis Because under the modern feminine humanistic and western culture with christian values... Finland and Japan still have small remains of old masculinity. And this song is lyrically very masculine and unapologetic. In Finland especially this kind of masculine cultural experiences are needed for balance against the public appearance where modern Scandinavian culture has turned in to overly feminine status qua in it's expressed values.

  • @ZardexM if you think this campy disco song sung by a gay man is the height of masculinity then you are clueless. Spare us your half-baked anti-women nonsense

  • @uniformskins It's not anti-women to think men should be allowed to have some level of masculinity and that femininity is not necessarily a good thing for men.

PS: only the original interpretation is a campy disco song sung by a gay man... the lyrics themselves are very masculine. The atmosphere of cultural values could use more similar masculinity that is closer to nature and free of constant judgmental moralizing and emotionalizing.

  • @Imphipis The answer lies implicitly in your question.

  • @Imphipis I suppose that there's a Brazilian version of this song too...

  • @Imphipis There's actually a norwegian translation of this song. I just can't remember who made it, I've been trying to find it for ages..

  • @Imphipis you forgot the swedes. Vikingarna has a version of this song.

  • HU HA HU HA :D:D:D:D

  • @magdames92 I loved this when I saw it on Eurovision; it has always stood out in my mind. I have just watched it again for the first time since it originally aired, and am struck by the similarity to "Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac (my favourite band), you know when Lindsey Buckingham does those sexy "ooh ah" vocal effects?! I'd forgotten that part! LOVE that main guy dancing :)

  • @Jojoseahorse

it's my favourite song when I want to make my mood!!!!

  • the berryz koubou version is better!!!

  • their outfits remind me of Mortal Kombat costumes

  • *midfinger on music reader* IT'S DSCHINGIS KHAN!

  • Huomio! Käynnistäkää moottorit!

  • their stage act is ridiculous by year 2000 standard...but, hey....no pain, no fame.....

  • This song is amazing, and the group is so unearthly! They look like a disco-pop band taken out of a "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" episode, wow!

  • BUENA CANCION, ME AGRADA Y A MI MENTE VIENEN BUENOS RECUERDOS. A FINALES DE LOS 70S GRACIAS

  • Normalnie aż mnie zatkało! To dopiero były czasy!

  • does anyone remember a song from this era possibly called baby blue.... you got me crying for you...baby blue.... you make me feel so good...all i know.. is loving you.. so don't make me blue.. oh baby blue??? Cant find it anywhere and lord only knows who sang it!

  • is the one with the crown suppost to be Genghis? he is doing it way to gay.

  • good song but i cant get myself to not exit out and watch Moskau instead!

  • I love this song. Song of my childhood. Americans simply can't make good music in last 10-15 years. What do they have to show besides cRAP, lady gaga and black eye peas? Nothing, and none of it can compare to old 70-80s music. Back then there was melody and harmony and it was MUCH more technically complex music then now.

  • @Toratsuro

I read your post, and agree 100%!!! The music of that period was fantastic. I remember those wonderful good disco tunes from 77 / 78 while living in Germany during that time. "Boney M" was cool as well.

  • Some of us students want German subtiteling for this

  • I prefer the japanese version! (Berryz Koubou )

    momochiiii >_<

  • MONGOLEN HOLEN XD

  • weirdest group of people ive ever seen together let alone in a band...

  • So basically eurovision was crap even thirty years ago.

  • @nakidaki You may mock, but later Dschingis Khan went on to make several hit songs, Moskau being the favorite song of nearly everyone in their fan base.

  • Go Dschingis Khan, I grew up with it ...Super but I just can't stop laughing especially after reading the comments...

  • Thomas Gottschalk! Oh, du meine Güte!

Sieh doch die Haare! Ahhh! :D

  • awsome music group from Germany

  • i am learning german now because of this song

  • hes dressed weird like that because thats how people in Mongolia used to dress...THUS Genghis Khan was from Mongolia >.>

  • I love this song.

    Even the dancing.

    lol

  • This song is so good :D made me wordless + puts smile on my face <3

  • made in ungarn

    gut gut gut

  • hahaha they're all just standing around singing and louis hops around them and does some poses omg

no it's really good but it looks a little silly

  • this song still kicks ass

  • Haha, I like Berryz Koubou's version better.

  • @YesIm10 Same :D

  • Imagine how many times they had to practice to get each song and dance perfected accordingly. I wish I was around to check this band out when they were in their prime like this... The girl in the white is hot IMO as well, lol

  • Imagine is Germany would have won the 2nd world war. This is just another reason we should be grateful that that didn't happen.

  • i'm from hungary but i like this music, this language and the whole country!!
