makes me wonder what lays ahead for the ppl of today, with capatalism being the powers that dictate to our societies,! what chance do the poorest ppl of our nations have? And no matter the era it all stems from one ruling land who love to rule over others , , , just junked up on riches and power ...... power addiction will become their error ;) ppl rob banks and get jailed...banks rob the ppl and get big bonuses ... Justice? where ?.
As an irish person I think it is important not to forget this great tragedy, but at the same time we should move on from it. People posting on here with meaningless insults are more to be pitied as they obviously have a chip on their shoulder - why else would they feel the need to put others down if not to make themselves feel more important? And why would they feel the need to be more important unless they felt insignificant to begin with?
@0101100101100 Truly the most miserable race of people on the planet - never happy with whatever you have and always wanting your cake and eat it. Constantly wallowing in self-pity instead of moving forward. You truly are the sadest race of people ever to have littered the British Isles. Holocaust? I wish! A shower room full of whinging micks and a tin of Zyklon B seems reasonable to me!
Hi Godbrother 10, just FYI "An Gorta Mór" still translates from Irish to English as "The Great Famine", "An t-Ocras Mór" would be "The Great Hunger". But I've never seen that one. But you are right about An Drochshaol. =D
@DinoDoesStuff look its fact youre government starved us 100s of years ago.know one holds it againts yous.only small minded peps ok.and some people just want to get th story right. it was an irish hollcaust and it should be told like it was, ttry telling the jews all thay had was an oxigen famine
great video! you should do one on the workhouses if you get a chance! from the research i've done - i'd nearly have preferred to have been starving and destitute rather than go into one of those!

Horribly tragic. The Fields of Athenry, was a great song based in the famine.
Another great Video, and a piece of our history. Thank you.
