Another problem is that the comforter could not be with the disciples for ever, because the disciples also died. Im sorry brother, but your logic is wrong. According to the promise the comforter would convict the world of sin, reveal all truth, and show things to come, none of these things have yet happened.

@onetocome I am sorry but it is your logic which is flawed, brother. If you claim the Holy Spirit cannot be the Comforter because the Disciples died and therefore the Comforter was not with them forever, you completely crush any attempt to claim Mohammed is the Comforter.

He neither lived WITH the disciples, nor could MOHAMMED remain with anyone beyond their death. So you position refutes your own argument, my friend.

But the core problem is your argument is flawed. God CAN remain forever.

Here's the problem with the basis of your confusion. If you ARE Born Again, the Word of God teaches you have been born of 'Incorruptable seed'. This means your NATURE has ALREADY become the nature of LIFE, my friend. So then from what 'spiriturally DEAD condition' would you assume 'spiritual death' exists?

Texas, according to your logic, Jesus send the comforter only to those disciples. The disciples could not see the comforter either, because supposedly he is a spirit and spirits can't be seen.

But the ABSOLUTELY BASIS of Jesus even mentioning the Comforter is to give the Comforter TO THE DISCIPLES (and by implication those who follow the the teachings of the Disciples who are INDWELT with the Comforter.I understand your confusion.

Jesus is a Paraclete, but Jesus physical and carnal mind is not the paraclete, but the spirit of God that he was serving is the authority in him. The Holy Spirit is not an entity. @Texas75023 God is one, he doesn't have different personalities, or different entities. God doesn't submit to any authorities, He speaks and everyone else shuts up. The paraclete has to be a man, which will speak only the words of the father, just like Jesus. The Holy Spirit that you speak of can't have his own authority, there is no such thing. Show me where in the bible speaks of God having two spirits with different authorities.

@onetocome 'ONE' is an ENGLISH word. The Hebrew text of the SHMA (transliterated) states 'Shma Yisrael, Adonai Eloheynu, Adonai ECHAD'. The word ECHAD is not the correct word to unambiguously state 'God is one alone. God is numerically singular.' The CORRECT word to make that clear, unambiguous and irrefutable statement is 'Adonai YACHID'.

And amazing, Almighty God did not inspire Moses to use this word. He chose One UNITED. Echad. You are clearly confused.

It is really foolish, my friend, to directly ignore the CLEAR text of Jesus' description of the Comforter. You can clean up your act and admit your folly as a waste of time, or I will block you and purge your spewage.
